"I asked you a question, Beryl." Ciara snapped, her nose flaring as her face turned red in the instant. She hated being ignored, of all.
Beryl sighed and bit her lip, struggling to say a word to her sister, "I got the job, Ciara." Since that was all she really cared about. And when she heard no word from her big sister again, she climbed the stairs.
'C'mon, McGraw, I don't bite...
'You have a nice hair, Ms McGraw, did anyone ever tell you?
'And gorgeous eyes, too. I love them,
'Do you have a boyfriend?
She couldn't take his words off her mind and each time she thought about them, they made her shudder and blush like she could feel his overwhelming presence in the room. And she hated herself for reacting so much to those words. He couldn't be interested in her, she tried to think, but he definitely had a good way of making her feel he is. Fuck, he's out of her caliber, he couldn't be attracted to her. He shouldn't.
And the thought of her either being pretty enough to attract Mr Rainbows had her before her mirror, trying to see if she really had gorgeous eyes like she mentioned. She was beginning to go crazy already, she knew but she couldn't keep his words out of her head.

After minutes of burying his eyes into those words but ending up getting distracted, he finally closed the page and tossed it away to his side. It was windy in the car and friendly but there was a problem with something. He couldn't seem to clear images of her flushed face and widely opened eyes in his head and he had to admit, she looked cute and funnily innocent. She was very pretty, else he wouldn't have harassed her sexually. And when he'd confirm that it was the same lady who humiliated him would be his new secretary, he had a different plan. But when he'd see those natural beauty and innocence, he began having a change of mind.
"Darren," he called, beckoning unto his driver's attention who spared him a questioning look through the rear view mirror.
"Mr Rainbows."
"There's a pest in my office. A pest I'm planning to turn to a pet." She was quite pretty. Only a little polishing and pampering and she'd be his type of girl. He tried not to imagine what her reaction would be if he asked her out sooner but he couldn't save himself as he ended up creating a bewildered look on her cute face. Bright green eyes opened widely, a scream escaping her lips and she'd jump on him happily. Or on the other hand, she would slap him again and tell him he's crazy before presenting a resigning letter to him. As far as that was possible, it couldn't happen. There was no way he was going to get insulted twice by the same human. And Ms McGraw didn't look just ordinarily innocent, she looked like the morally upright and no nonsense type so if he was going to avoid her annoyance, then he had to take it slow. Start off with official dates, gifts, cards, chocolates and flowers. Then move to giving her intentional accidental kisses and advanced touches. Ask her out more often, act like he's finally falling for her and then he'd drop the real words. All those, he must do within the next one month.
The persistent horns from the car snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked around, only to find out it was Darren doing that. His jaw clenched, "What the hell, Darren?! What were you trying to do?"
" I only tried to pull you out of your thoughts. You kept smiling and it was very strange of you. Sorry if I disturbed you but you were talking about some pest in your office and I'm thinking your phrase should belong to a figure of speech or something. Do you mind to tell me the meaning?"
A smile came across his face as he leant back against the chair. And as if he just had the last shot he could take for the day, he chortles, "Tell dad I would be fulfilling his wish sooner_I would be getting married soon."
"Soon?" Darren repeated, the word lingering on his lips as that very readable expression comes across his face. Shock. Of course, he knew his boss was going to get married one day. But that day could be imagined to come in the next ten years, knowing how much his boss liked to fuck and dumb. And how his boss had refused to go into any relationship ever since Lynn's. But that 'soon' sounded like in the next few months, yet it was unbelievable to think that the popular play boy had found another girl he likes. Probably loves.
"Of course, soon! She's really pretty and intelligent so I don't have to worry about dad not liking her. All I have to think is about getting her to accept me and about getting her to go along with Cannon." That actually seemed like a joke to Darren. He wondered what girl wouldn't accept getting married to the not only famous, but hot and renowned sex god called Mr Rainbows. And Cannon was actually more like his father who had always been barely bothered, didn't like socializing with most people and made sure to keep his borders. Except the latter was a little more grumpy than his father. To say, in short, Cannon didn't like to bother himself about whoever his father associated with as far as he was given his freedom and his father's love for him didn't diminish a bit. So Darren wondered what problem Cannon would have with Kelvin's new girlfriend if she was truly intelligent, like he said.

Beryl could feel her heart beating faster as she approached her desk. Not only was she late, but she was also feeling very uneasy in the dress she wore. Her sister had forced her to put on some makeup and wear another of the pretty dresses she didn't like. The black gown did not only show off her curves, but also stopped on her middle thighs and the goddamn thing was V-neck. The heels she wore wasn't helping matters, nor was the hairstyle she made. And to top it all, she had to be remembered how rude she was too her boss the day before.
As she settled on the chair, Beryl decided she wasn't going to see Mr Rainbows today and she was going to leave earlier. Heaving a sigh, she glanced around the room and when it seemed like there wasn't anyone else on the floor with her, she breathed out a smile and told herself it was going to be a better day. But she had less than a minute to rejoice when the interphone rang out. She tensed when she saw it was her boss and debated on picking it or not. She didn't want to believe, however, that he was in his office already watching her through the demarcation.
"Hello, Mr Rainbows." She tried to sound the least agitated or afraid. But damn, it was hard not to hang up rudely.
"Come to my office already. And bring me coffee," He ordered in his husky voice that was turning more and more familiar to her already. Immediately he had finish his statement, she ended the call and placed the mobile down, cursing him under her breathe. She hadn't planned to meet him today. In fact, she hadn't planned to listen to his voice.
" You would be alright, Lilac. "She told herself, biting her bottom lip as she stood up to attend to his order. She had no idea where to get coffee but she had no choice either. Frowning, she turned around and stamped out of the room, hoping to find Snow.
She bit her bottom lip nervously, making sure not to mishandle the cup in her left hand as she walked into his office. This time, she found him standing across the room and watching every of her movement already and she could swore her heart skipped a bit. Nervousness made flutters in her lungs. Butterflies made flips in her stomach. She stood there erected, waiting for his permission to come in. She didn't want to mess up again and she had promised herself not to rant at him. Well, she prayed he wasn't going to make her flip out.
"Come in," He instructed, nodding at her as he turned around, hands still tucked in his pockets and walked to his desk. He wore a dress shirt that was not buttoned up and barely tucked in his black pants. And she'd notice he didn't like putting on shoes while in the office. As he sat, he glanced up at her again and eyed her, "Are your feet glued to that spot?" Sarcasm!
She snapped out of her trance when his voice traveled loudly and flushed, she walked to the chair opposite him, trying not to mind his watchful eyes on her.
"You asked me to bring coffee," She was glad not to stutter as she placed the mug on a deserted area of his desk. He nodded at her statement, not taking his eyes off her, "I didn't ask you to sit, yet." Her cheeks flushed as her eyes widened. Not surprised, but angry. He wasn't just a jerk, was he? He was also a spoilt brat, rubbing his superiority over her on her face. But she tried hard not to lash out, and stood up as instructed.
"Sorry," She managed to say, forcing herself not to glare at the hottie before her.
"Actually, Ms McGraw, you look great today, I must say," Another of his compliment? Just after being mean to her? And she tried to wonder how a flatter of his managed to turn her anger to be nervousness... Nervousness? Although she'd like to deny it, she could feel a part of her get excited at his compliment and a part of her no longer regretting being this dressed up. Only that she still had to admit she didn't like being exposed.
