Chapter 3 Review two

Review two:

It was a day of mourning for the royal family as the king sat in the middle of two dead bodies while others, wailed uncontrollably.

He looked helpless, yes he had the powers, powers to direct the affairs of the village, yet the traditions were beyond him. He had seen men like him kill women but he didn't know it would one day affect his family.

You might ask why he allowed a man, old as he is to marry his daughter but that was also the traditions of a crown princess given out to the prime minister. Because it was believed he would take good care of her. It's left for the man to pay the bride price at any time and take his woman.

"Take the bodies away." He ordered, stood up and left. Eloise had seen it in her vision. The death of Queen Dowager and the images of their burnt bodies according to their tradition.

'....'

It has been weeks, after the incidents that happened in the palace. Everyone in the village lived their lives as if nothing happened but the death of the royal household was still fresh in their memories.

Nevertheless, the queen Gaga being the first queen was troubled and the death was never the reason behind her troubled heart.

It was Eloise.

She was going to be betrothed to the prime minister in the next 7 days and preparations were already taken place. She'd have to draw out a plan immediately in order to save the princess.

...........

She looked at the maids who kept their heads low, the whole time. They dare not raise their head. Queen Gaga is a very strict queen.

"Let's go." She ordered, walking magnificantly out of her chambers. She was a princess from 'Rwanda' being married to a king in 'Burundi' and every one respected her so much. She was a renowned beauty.

Even before she was made the Dowager, she was worshipped around. The guards bowed before letting her into the cave where the priestess was.

"Queen Dowager. Your highness"

The priestess bowed in obeisance. The priestess was putting on a white dress as her long hair rested at her back.

"You know why i came " The queen started, her voice low but strict.

The maids needed not to be told to stay outside.

"Yes, your highness" She bowed and turned back to the goddess. It was meant to be an alter for the goddess.

She closed her eyes and prayed silently.

A small wind blew, their hairs were flapping at their backs. She prayed and prayed till she heard her voice.

The queen goddess.

'WHY DID YOU SUMMON ME.'Her calm voice spoke.

"Great queen. There's a problem, great one" The priestess replied with her head bowed.

'THE PRINCESS WILL TAKE CARE OF HERSELF, DO NOT PANIC.

MY CHILD IS NOT A FOOL, PATIENCE

DO NOT SUMMON ME AGAIN.'

The wind stopped, the priestess turned to Dowager expecting her next question but it never came.

.

.

The palace was beautifully decorated because it was the day, princess Eloise was to be betrothed. Everyone was happy, and drinking excessively.

Dowager walked to the princess's room and she sat quietly on her bed. The princess never turned to look at her mother.

She coughed lightly making her presence known to the quiet princess.

" I won't marry him, mother" She said with ease.

"And that is why i'm here"

She wasn't expecting that, so she lit up.

"Really?. How do you achieve that?"

"I have a plan."

.

.

The queen and Eloise walked through the bushes, everywhere quiet and dark, just the drums being played at the palace were heard. The three guards who followed them were with lantern, each one of them and they were alert.

As they stopped in an opening, a woman surfaced immediately. She was putting on strange wears and clothes. She looked beautiful and she had a fairer skin. Santiana wondered who the strange woman was until the woman spoke, her voice very tiny and ofcourse she could not hear her.

"Eloise, this lady here, was going to take you far, far away from the village. Do not worry, she is my friend, so she knows exactly what to do when you get there."

Eloise wiped her tears and lifted her head to her mother.

"I'll have to get to the palace now. Just remember this, baby. I love you and will always will. I'll be in touch dear, stay safe" She mumbled and kissed her forehead.

She turned and left.

Eloise knew vividly that a new life had begun, a life of being normal. Not a goddess, nor a princess of the sea or a princess of this village. She was just Eloise, a human goddess.
