"Who the hell has seen Toni?" Ethan shouted from the balcony.

"I don't know, have you checked her room?" Tracy asked

"I did, she's not there. Who knows where the hell she might be? "Ruby said.

"I think that we are all getting worried over nothing. Toni can take care of herself." Aidan said as he hung his arms around Tracy's shoulder.

"She's 10."

"She's an Inner too. And she has an awesome power, hell I would kill for her power. She can easily get to safety if there is trouble." Aidan said reassuring Tracy.

"Yo, Ethan go check on the inventory, check if our food supplies can last us till the ending of the week." Aidan said

"Sure thing bro," Ethan said as he left.

'I'm going to check on Sandy and see if she needs anything," Ruby said leaving too.

"Yeah, Tracy chill out a bit ok. Look okay, lets contact her on her telecom and hear what she will say." Jason said as they all entered the computer room.

"Hey, what's up. Why are you all here. I didn't leave my duty post." Tina said looking up from a x rated book.

"Gosh, you are still reading that stuff. I thought we told you to read it when you were alone." Tracy said.

"Not we. Just you. I enjoyed this stuffs." Aidan said backing out.

"Yup. Me too." Jason said giving Tina a wink as Tracy caught it too.

"Really?" Tracy said giving the boys one of her disappointing looks.

"Well I was alone. You guys barged in on me. Are you checking up on me? Come on guys, I gave my word I wouldn't leave without permission unless I was really tempted."

"Maybe. Just to make sure that you haven't miniaturized yourself yet. You don't listen anyways."

"Thanks mum." Tina said rolling her eyes.

"And stop calling me mum." Tracy said dialing Toni's telecom.

"Stop behaving like one then," Tina muttered as she went back to her book.

The telecom rung before it connected.

"Yeah? A kid's voice said on the other end.

"Toni where the hell are you."

"Umm this isn't Toni."

"What are you doing with her com then? Where's Toni?"

"I don't know who the hell you are talking about?"

"Toni. A 10-year-old girl with green eyes and purple hair."

"Never seen her in my freaking life."

"Yo, loser. Who told you to touch my stuff. Another voice could be heard as a scuffle was heard.

"Yo, peeps. What's up?" Toni said

"Toni. Where the hell are you? Are you ok? Should we come get you?" Tracy asked worried.

"Am ok, really. I was playing ball with some of my friends so I took my com off to avoid breaking it."

"Why did you sneak out without telling anyone?"

Gee, mum chill out. I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself if something goes wrong." Toni said

"You are 10." Tracy said in a matter of fact.

"Hey, I got a killer power too. I'm fine. I just came out to get some fresh air."

"At least kiddo, you should have told me or Aiden at the very least." Jason said

"Sorry uncle Jason, I didn't think I would worry you guys this much."

"Well you should, you know that you are the only kid here and everyone has to look out for you." Aiden said.

"Yes, dad." Toni said.

"That's good. Be home before 6pm, wait why are you calling me dad?"

"Because mum is your girlfriend obviously."

"But I'm not even your mum." Tracy said exasperated.

"Stop acting like one then," Toni said as the com disconnected.

"I'm not acting like a mum, who says I'm a mum. Am nobody's mum. I'm a full blown teenager......" Tracy started to say

"Hey mum, Hazel need you in the kitchen." Liam popped his head in the room saying and soon popped out.

"What?" Tracy asked obviously displeased and ready to blow.

"Easy there tiger, he's kidding. They all are." Aiden said as he leads her out of the room.

'So...... Tina huh?" Jason started.

"Not interested." Tina said her eyes not leaving the book.

Hazel sat in her seat watching everyone as they walked into the classroom, laughing and talking with their friends. She kept an eye out from a very important person, and she knew any moment from now, he would barge in the class with his crew as always.

"Yo Dwight how was your night? One of the guys yelled from his seat as Dwight and five other footballers walked in.

"Pretty dope, Walter. I heard that you are throwing a party tomorrow?"

"Yeah, will you come? It's a pool party." Walter said trying to entice him

"I kind of have some tests and I wanted to study for it......."

"They will be girls."

"I'm in. I will there." Dwight said as he sat down beside hazel.

"Hey girlfriend,' he called bringing out his books.

Hazel heart skipped a bit just hearing him call her his girlfriend but he knew he didn't mean it, that was the nickname for her. He thought best friend was old and underrated.

"Hey dickhead, going to another party, I suppose."

"Yeah, I'm going. Are you going to come?"

"And watch you screw around with other girls? Nah I'll pass." She said in her mind.

"I'll love to, but you know I have to study, we have a killer test on Friday.'

"Come on, just the two of us, in a party for the first and last time."

"Dwight, you aren't taking school seriously anymore, your grades are dropping."

"Hey, the least I have gotten is a B. that's a pass to me."

"Can't you keep it a straight A's"

"And become known as the school's nerd. I'll stick with the famous and popular thanks. Hazel I'm a bit disappointed at you."

"Why? What did I do?"

'You didn't ask me about my weekend. It's a routine remember.'

'I know you already screwed someone this weekend."

"I still like to say it.'

"Sure thing, so how was your weekend?

Dwight grinned as he replied. The best, I have finally slept with the twin sisters, ruby and randy. They were awesome in bed.

Hazel inwardly retched but still plastered a fake smile on her face.

Oh, she has given me a killer hug yesterday. I think she practically jumped on me. Alyssa said as she sat down in between Hazel and Dwight.

Cyril was engaged in a hot argument with the rest of the directors. They were seated in an office as Cyril held an ice pack to the back of his head.

I can't believe that you let the inners escape. This was under your jurisdiction. How could you let this happen?

Like I said before, we were taken unawares. The inners knew about the place and they came prepared. Cyril said wincing a bit.

Excuses excuses. I knew a 19-year-old was not cut out for this kind of responsibilities. I told your father that it was a bad idea putting you in charge, you ought to be in school. One of the female director said.

Don't you dare talk trash about my father. My father made no mistake, putting me in charge of you all. So mind the way you talk, unless you want your tongue to be ripped out.

Threatening each other and fighting is not a good idea. We can't afford this, at the critical moment. We need to work together to find out a solution. The number of new breakouts are increasing rapidly and we will soon go into a full blown war. We need to know how to capture tem now. Director Jason under the department of weapons and machinery said.

Good idea, Jason. I approve of that idea. So does anyone have any ideas about how we can go about it.

What about the screening? The test we do give the schools in the city periodically to monitor their change in DNA.

That's already in progress. My doctors told me that today they will go to Force High for their periodic maintenance. A director under the department of health related researches said.

Force high huh? Isn't that the school that your fiancée goes to? The rude woman from earlier said.

Yeah she does, and in case you are forgotten that's the best school in the state. And my mum is the owner of it. Or are you still whining about the fact that your sons got put in the public waste bin of a school, irrespective of the title you hold here. Cyril said smirking.

How dare you.... she said slamming her hand on the table standing up.

Enough the H.O.D yelled as he stood up between them. That's enough both of you. That's it. This meeting is adjourned till further notice. Both of you go resolve your differences. He continued as the lady stomped out of the meeting.

Cyril looked at her retreating figure and said

Tell me why again, my father didn't sack her.

She's good at what she does. Although she can be a pain in the ass. Sometimes. Jason said.

What's your name? Cyril said pointing at the guy from the health related research department.

Mr. Thomas Morgan sire. He replied.

Thomas. When are your doctors supposed to come for the periodic maintenance?

Today in roughly two hours why?

Has your fiancée gotten checked up yet?

No, she hasn't. I thought I said she won't be subjected to the test. She is not a lab rat. Cyril said angrily.

Nobody is getting special treatment. You took the test so did i. unless there is something that you are hiding from us.

Good, then it won't be a problem if we subject your fiancée to the test. After all she's 100% human. He said as he paced his bag and left, leaving Cyril alone.

So can you guys please remind me why school was mandatory today, yet no classes? Alyssa asked.

Like we said before, The Force High Industries has assigned a group of doctors to come and carry out their tests.

What tests?

Periodic maintenance of our DNA to check if there is any change, duh. You know for a fiancée; you seem to know nothing about your fiancé duties. Dwight said.

How many times did I get you that I don't give a crap about what Cyril does? That's his business. He should know that he's still in high school. He will fail his classes. Alyssa said.

Well, lucky him that his mother just happens to be the owner of the school. I won't be surprised if they give him an outstanding result, no doubt the best to be ever recorded. Hazel said rolling her eyes.

"Now that's just petty, you are just saying that because you think he's standing in your way of getting that title. I don't think Cyril would give a damn about his grades. He has a company to run." Dwight said.

"Guys, back to the tests, what's it like?" Alyssa asked looking between Dwight and hazel.

"Wait, you have never gone for a testing before?" Hazel asked surprised.

"Not really, no. Alyssa said shrugging her shoulders.

"Damn girl, I like the special treatment that you are getting. Anyways it's just a standard test like any other. They scan your blood and see if it has changed or if a new DNA has popped out. Dwight said biting the tip of his pen.

"Yeah, but it's just 1 out of 10 that gets their DNA changed anyways" hazel said.

"What happened to those that get their DNA changed then? Alyssa asked curious to the core.

"I think Cyril is in the best position to answer that, for those who gets taken, we never see them again, never. Dwight said gravely as Alyssa gulped.
