Chapter 4 Fainting

Ava's P.O.V

I stood up near the window staring through it blankly. I've really gotten myself into trouble this time. I looked around and realized that my office was really spacious with black leather chairs and a glass desk. The entire office had a contrast of black and white with only the portraits adding some color. When I was about to seat down there was a sudden knock on my door. I said "come in"

The door was pushed open and Assistant Lee came in with a mountain of documents and placed them on my desk.

"Miss Miller, this is your work for today good luck," he said and then left.

I stared intensely at the pile of documents and then started to go through them. Half an hour later the office phone started to ring, I picked it up only to hear that bastard's, magnetic voice ringing out of it.

"Miss Miller get me a cup of black coffee"

I swallowed the urge to curse out at him, and forced the words " Sure thing, CEO Carter"

"Oh, and Miss Miller call me CEO Cold" and the line was cut off.

Asshole I muttered to myself before I got up and advanced to the room where the coffee machine is kept. After several attempts at doing a single cup of coffee, I finally succeeded in doing it. I felt like I had won some big award for just doing a simple cup of coffee. With a huge smile on my face I headed towards the CEO's office, I knocked on the door, waited for his okay, and entered.

" CEO Cold here is your cup of coffee"

"He took it from my hand and rested it on the desk"

He waited for his permission to leave but the man pretended like I was invincible

I stood rooted to the ground for at least ten minutes before he picked up the cup of coffee and took a sip. His face immediately went ugly and he threw away the cup of coffee.

"Are you trying to kill me! What is that?" he yelled

"It's the coffee you asked for" I replied

He sent me back to make another cup of coffee and said that the cup I just made tasted like dirty water! Can you believe that man?

After 20 rounds of going to the coffee room and back to his office he finally accepted the cup of coffee and drank only half before discarding the rest!

He even had the audacity to say that the cup of coffee wasn't that good, it just tasted slightly better from the rest!

It took almost all the remaining energy I had to restrain myself from walking up to that fucking asshole and choking him to death!

I was finally allowed to go back to my office, as I sat back down on my office chair my head started to throb like there were drums being played in them. Still, I encouraged myself that everything would be okay and continued to go through my documents. It was soon lunchtime but with all the documents on my desk, I decided to stay in, besides with the massive headache that seemed to be getting worst by the hour. I didn't think I would be able to reach far. I continued to go through the documents and time flew by until it was time to head home. My legs were numb and when I tried to get up, I ended up falling to the ground and everything started to spin badly.

Assistant Lee P.O.V

It's after working hours and I went to Miss Miller's office to collect the documents that she completed. I knocked on the door but there was no response. After knocking several times I pushed open the door only to see her lying on the floor unconscious. I quickly rushed up to her and tried to wake her up, but to no avail. When I looked at her desk I realized that she had completed all the documents I gave her today. These documents would have taken two days if not three to finish but she completed them today, this means that she probably didn't go out for lunch, no scrap that she probably didn't eat at all.

I quickly got up and used her office phone to call CEO Cold, it only took a few seconds before the phone was answered.

"CEO Cold M-Miss Miller is laying on the floor unconscious," I said in a jittery voice

"What! I'm on my way." and my line went dead

I had just put down the phone and noticed the door was pushed open and CEO Cold's figure was squatted down in front of Miss Miller

I was puzzled did he fly here or what!

Mason's P.O.V

I was just about to leave the office to attend a meeting when the office phone rang, I walked to the phone and took the call only to hear Assistant Lee's panicking voice saying that

"Miss Miller is lying unconscious on the floor."

I ended the call and hastened toward her office and pushed the door open. When I saw that woman lying on the floor motionless, my heart fell into excruciating pain.

Ava's P.O.V

I opened my eyes only to stare into a pair of ocean blue eyes that for a faint second held a trace of worry.

I felt weak to the point where, even speaking felt impossible, I took a deep breath and said

"I'm okay, it's just a headache and a little skipped meal" but I wasn't even done when I realized I was already hanging over his shoulder.

I was carried out of the building and dumped into an expensive vehicle. I felt weak and my eyes became heavy, no matter how hard I tried to keep them open they just closed.

The strong smell of disinfectant congested my nose causing my black world to slowly become white. I stared at the white ceiling of the hospital, disoriented for a while before I began to recall what happened. As I pulled myself up and tried to talk, I realized my throat was parched. Looking around I saw there was a jug of water nearby so I pulled the cover off me and was about to get up when the door opened.

I turned around only to see, that man walking in with a bag in his hands. "He said don't move and rested his hands on my shoulder so I can lie back down.

He then turned and went to pour me a cup of warm water and said

"I bought dinner for you"

He gave me the cup of warm water to drink and took a bowl of Beef and Barly Soup out

and said "eat"

Whilst I was eating the doctor came in so CEO Cold excused himself and went and talk to the doctor in the hallway.

Mason P.O.V

I took that woman to the hospital and went out to get her something to eat. When I came back I spotted her getting off the bed. In a mere one day with this woman working as my assistant, my heart has hurt like never before. So I made her lie back down and went and pour her a cup of water anyway a while after the doctor came in so I excused myself and went in the Hallway with him.

" Is everything okay with her?" I asked nervously

"Yes, Miss Miller is okay now and just needs to take better care of her health such as eating on time."

" When can she be discharged"

"You can take her home after her meal."

"Thank you doctor"

"Miss Miller sure is lucky to have a boyfriend like you."

I nodded, smiled, and walked back into the room.

Assistant Lee P.O.V

Did our cold and aloof Ceo who finds all women disgusting and wouldn't even touch a woman's hands like its a plague, just carry Miss Miller out of the office. This is too frightening, I can't believe my eyes. I should really get to the hospital, I might be hallucinating! Shit, my brain is about to short circuit because I really can't process this.

In the midst of my befuddlement, I got a call from CEO Cold informing me to cancel the rest of his meetings so I did as said and headed home. Trust me I didn't even think about driving my own vehicle, after all, I'm pretty sure I'm hallucinating. I guess CEO Cold probably brought Miss Miller to the hospital. Shit, I need to call Nathan and tell him about this, but not now, because I'm not sure if this is real.
