Chapter 3 He Really Went Missing

I woke up after a haunted night. I freshen up and went to my office.

I remembered that I completed some of the work before, so I switched on a news channel on my phone.

The headlines read,

"CEO of the William Corporation gone missing, police in search from yesterday night"

What the hell. He really went missing?? I.. I'll call him.

I called him.

"The number you've called is currently switched off. Diverting to voicemail"

What the hell!! He... No... Why did he really disappear!

I called my PA.

"Yes, Mam?" Maya asked.

"The.. CEO of... William Corporation... He... Came yesterday here.. You have to send our investigation team to find him, NOW!" I told him.

We have a small investigation team. They are best at their work.

"But mam, the police are already searching for him. And he's not related to our company, so what's the point of sending OUR investigation team on him?" she asked.

"I said to send, so send. Don't talk back to me. He's related... He's... He's my friend" I told her.

"Ok mam" she went and I got the message from the team leader.

Oh why Adrian. I don't know why I'm so tensed about it. I didn't want you to disappear. I just said that don't get in my life again. If something happened to him then... Oh god. What am I thinking? Please, Adrian, come back.

Suddenly Maya came back.

"Did you find him?" I asked. Then she told me that our investigation team has found a voicemail from him.

I told Maya to leave so that I could hear it.

"You're listening to this, it means I'm already missing. Don't find me. I've done what you wanted. I've vanished from your life. I'll go somewhere where you'll not be able to find me. The search for me will stop in a few days and I'll be marked as dead or missing. I don't care about it"

Tears dropped from my eyes because of his message. No. I don't want him to vanish. But.. There's no way to contact him either. It's time. I'll go public.

I came out of the office and some of my officials called the media.

"Miss Marie, do you know anything about Mr. Adrian?"

"How is he related to you?"

"How do you know him?"

"Is it business or Life?"

"Is he your business partner? But why would he do business with small companies?"

I was losing consciousness. Why did I call them? They are crazy people! They should be in the mental asylum.

"I'll tell you everything but please calm down," I said almost shouting.

To my astonishment, they calmed down.

"I'm here to tell something to everyone. Yesterday... Actually... Okay. I'll tell you one thing. Adrian and I... Are in a relationship" I made things up so that he listens and come back, thinking I accepted him.

"What!" the reporters were shocked as hell and started screaming at the camera again when I found a way and went from there.

Suddenly, I received a call. It was from Maya.

"Yes, Maya?"

"Mam, Our IT is unable to find him, but what did you say to the media??? Everyone is bashing you! They have surrounded our office! Everyone is blaming you for his disappearance!"

"That..leave it... It's ok.." I said and cut the call.

Please Adrian come back.

I switched on the news again.

"After the relationship between Marie and Adrian came out, Adrian also went public"

What? Did he go public? What is he doing?

Adrian: As the CEO of the William Corporation, I request to the media that everyone has a personal life and all these reporters should not bash her in this matter. They should leave her personal life. As for the confirmation, I'm not obliged to tell anyone about it either.

I put down my phone. Why is he being so good? He could've just said and confirmed our relationship... I'm happy he's safe... But.. Still.

Just after a minute, I received a call. It was from Maya again.

"Mam, the reporters have suddenly gone away and left the office. I think that is the effect of Mr. Adrian going public. He's not missing anymore. So, can we bring our IT back?"

"Yes," I said. I was happy and tensed at the same time. How will I face him? How will I explain myself?
