Chapter 4 The Promise

Astrid's POV

"Hm.. Whatever" I said, a little embarrassed.

"Okay bye" He said

"Bye" I said and I was leaving the cafe when he stopped me again.

"Astrid"

"What?" I said.

"How are you going to your home?" he asked.

What? What does it have to do with him. Am I supposed to report everything to him?

"I.. I'll go back with bus" I said.

"If you want I can drop you" he said.

Without my permission, my cheeks turned red. Why was I blushing? Did he even say anything?

"No-no, it's fine" I said and went out.

Then I boarded the bus and started to go back. I usually sit in the window seat, and I did the same today. I'm quite an observer. I like to observe the things around me. But today I looked out and I can't even clearly see everything, because my mind is thinking about someone. Yes, it's him.

I couldn't understand this day. One day and so many things happened.

He was behaving so rudely in class. Why did he suddenly become so nice, that he's helping me by telling me about the test, and even had no problem in dropping me home??.. I think he isn't that bad.

I reached home and I received a text from an unknown number. Oh yea, it may be him.

"Here's the test, prepare it thoroughly."

I saw the pic. What the helllll! I don't even know the meaning of the titles, let alone the chapter.

I texted him back.

"Hey what the hell is this syllabus.. I don't even know the meaning of titles"

He saw it, but didn't reply.

"Hello Noah How am I supposed to learn it?"

"I can't understand anything"

"I don't have that much time"

I messaged him continously because I was going insane.

Then suddenly, he called me.

"Why is he calling me....." I thought and picked up.

"Hello?" I said. I thought he would be angry because I was disturbing him like crazy.

"Hello."

"Why did you call me" I asked, because he could've just messaged me.

"Because you were going crazy and I can't reply with that pace"

"Oh, sorry"

"It's fine" he said.

"Ya, so what were you saying?" he asked me.

"That I can't learn that much. I can't even properly read the titles"

"Hm.. Let me think. We have only one option"

"What?"

"Cheating. I'll help you cheat tomorrow"

"What no"

"Then you tell me do you have any ideas?"

"But.."

"It's ok"

"Okay. Hey wait. What if you back out at the last moment?"

"Oh so you don't trust me, it's fine then fail"

He said and cut the call.

His temper is so low! I didn't even say anything. Of course I don't trust him! I only met him today, and he's been nothing but a nerd!

But I called him again. I need his help anyways. I can't learn so much.

"What now?" He asked. I could sense anger in his voice.

"Help me, please" I said.

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah"

"That's good"

"Promise?"

"Yup"

"Thanks"

"Bye" he said and the call was hung up.

Will he help me? Or will he back out tomorrow? Will he keep his promise? I Don't know and I don't have any other options too. I can only depend on him, which I didn't want at all. But.. My life sucks.

The next day, I went and sat beside him again. I looked towards him.

"How's your preparation for the test?" I asked him, for he was going to help me.

"Quiet good, you'll get around 95%"

"Wow, great" I said and looked down.

"Don't act weird and study. Ms. Sophie notices everything" he said looking at me.

"Okay" I said without making an eye contact.

Then I studied. Ms. Sophie came on my seat and smiled at me. Then I remember his words that her smile hides her super strict nature. I was a little scared.

"You're a fresher, have you prepared the exam?" she asked me while smiling.

"Yes mam, I have" I said, all depended on him.

"Good. I'm looking forward to your marks" she said and left.

I was scared. What if I can't get good marks? She'll know I was lying. I don't know that if I would even pass or not. What if he doesn't help me? I'm in a total mess. And only this nerd can help me. Can life be any worse? I am totally depended on a person who wants to embarrass me. I Don't think he'll help me..

I was looking towards the book and thinking all this. I was waiting for the test to start and to clear that he's a nerd or not. I hope he's not or I'm dead.
