Chapter 10 Meena's Temper

Meena woke up in a daze as she got herself to sit up on the soft mattress, her eyes were staring at the bright rays of sunlight through the baby-pink curtains telling her that it is morning.

Her mind went blank for a moment, she felt an aching feeling in her chest when she thought of last night's event. She was worried about Mike and even cried so much that she had fallen asleep and woken up in a daze, her sleep was short since at the back of her mind she only thought about how Mike was doing right now.

'Is he safe? I mean, I only shot him in the shoulder and last time I had taken health class. Shoulders are far away from the heart.' she thought as her eyes shifted back and forth at the thought of her husband dying because of one bullet that had been shot by her.

An image of her husband and another woman dipping their faces in each other necks, passed by her and soon the anger that had died down hours ago came back.

The lighting back at the club wasn't so good, so she couldn't see the woman's face so clearly since the lights were all sorts of colors. The only face that she had memorized and had been with all these weeks was only her husband, she felt like she was going to cry again.

Her throat became dry so she grabbed the glass of water on her bedside table and drank it in one go. She thinks that it is time for her to go down since it was the morning, she got up from her bed and walked to her closet.

She opened the doors to her closet and found most of her clothes gone. She was confused at first, but then everything slowly fell into her head.

'That's right. I was comforted by brother Kevin that he had allowed me to sleep in his villa.' she smiled, but wished that she hadn't taken all of her clothes to the Noble villa.

Now she has no other clothing left in her wardrobe except for dust and spider webs. Meena pouted and crossed her arms.

'The cleaner did such a good job on making sure that the guest's bedrooms are clean, but didn't check the inside of the closet to see if it's cleaned. Maybe I should report this to brother Kevin and get him to fire whoever the cleaner is.' she thought, then she glanced at the dusty closet one more time before stomping on the ground like an angry child who wanted a lollipop, but their parents refused.

She turned around and headed to the bathroom to wash her face, she walked over to the bathroom and closed the sliding door behind her.

When she looked at how luxurious and bright the bathroom was, she was blinded for a second before her eyes landed on the pile of brand new clothing, folded neatly on top of the marble counter beside the sink. Her face immediately softened and another smile appeared on her face.

'Awh, brother...' she was so flattered at how kind her brother has been to her since last night.

Usually her brother would always put on his cold face and sometimes ignore her which made her mad and hardly ever visits him in the villa. When really, even if she wanted to go visit him. He won't be there since he has his own multi-billion company in Stone City that he has to take care of, leaving his sister Meena behind at L City.

The Blade family has their own corporation in L City as well that was still well taken care of by her parents who are right now taking a break and travelling around the world while keeping in contact with their personal assistant that they trust to take incharge of the company and keep it in control.

Her brother, Kevin has been taking some time off his own company as well and came to see how everything in the company here was while his parents are on vacation. He also knew about Meena and her husband not getting along very well, so he came to check up on his sister.

After Meena had finished taking a shower and washing her face, she came down from the guest room and was greeted by one of the servants who pulled out a chair from the dinner table for Meena.

Meena sat in the chair and waited for her breakfast to be served to her, she looked at the chair that was at the end of the table and was curious as to where her brother is so she asked one of the servants.

"Where did your master go?"

"Master hasn't woken up yet. Ms Meena, I could go and wake him up for you if you'd like-" one of the servants spoke with careful words to make themselves seem polite.

"No need, let him sleep. You can go now." Meena said and the servant who was just talking to Meena bowed her head down before leaving to the kitchen.

Meena would usually go on her phone every time she has breakfast, but since she didn't have the guts to go on her phone because the lock screen on her phone has a picture of her and her husband looking very much in love which will break her heart even more if she looks at it. She decided to read some boring newspaper, at least her brother could know that his little sister is not always online.

She reached for the newspaper that was put right next to the vase of roses in the center of the table. She grabbed it after a tough time of being lazy of not wanting to leave her seat, she looked at the picture on the first page that had a picture of a female in bikinis on stage with a shiny crown on her head.

'What such shameless girls!' Meena's expression was full of disgust as she chuck the newspaper back onto the table. She sat back in her chair while thinking of other things to do while waiting for her breakfast.

"Bored already?" a familiar voice startled Meena for a few seconds before she turned to face her brother who was walking towards the table with his coat in his hand.

"Brother! You're finally awake!" Meena spoke happily. He walked over to Meena and found a newspaper with a woman in bikinis on the front page.

He frowned when he noticed that he had seen this newspaper before, he looked behind him to call one of the servants over.

"Where's today's newspaper?" he asked with an unhappy look on his face as he pointed at the newspaper lying on the table.

The servant started trembling at how scary her master looked when he's unhappy, she gulped down the saliva before answering him.

"I'm sorry Master, i-it's still in the m-mailbox." she said while looking down.

Meena watched her brother scold the fearful servant and thought about the newspaper.

"Well- What are you still doing here? Go get it!" he shouted and the servant quickly ran out of his sight.

"Brother... so that newspaper was the old one?" she asked and he calms himself down before nodding.

Seeing her brother nod, she became joyous in a few seconds.

"Can I read the new one?" she asked. For some reason, she felt like she should ask her brother everything before taking action in case she does something so stupid like last night.

Kevin was starting to get annoyed, but tried to keep it hidden and nodded.

When the servant came back, breathless. She handed the newspaper to Kevin which he snatched it out of her hand and told her to go back to her work. He gave the newspaper to Meena who was stunned to see her brother's cold attitude, but nonetheless she quickly ignored it and accepted the newspaper from her brother and read the front page.

Her eyes scanned the huge picture on the front page, the scenery was in the club and the three people in the picture looked familiar to Meena. She looked up and read the headings of the page, her eyes widened and a frown appeared on her face as she continued reading below the picture.

Once Meena had finished reading, she directly stood up from her chair.

That sudden move made her chair back out a little and bumped into one of the servants who was holding a bowl of hot porridge, the servant accidentally dropped the bowl and tipped the hot porridge on herself while the bowl landed and broke on the floor.

Screams were heard from behind Meena's chair, the scream immediately caught Meena's and Kevin's attention. The servant whose name was Lena, tried her best to ignore the hot porridge that was burning her skin and fell down to the ground to pick up the broken glass.

"I'm so sorry Ms Meena. I'll clean this up and get the others to serve you another bowl of porridge." Lena said as she kept her gaze on the broken glass.

Meena ignored what Lena had said and turned to face her Kevin.

She walked over to her Kevin and handed him the newspaper.

"Brother, read it!" she urged her Kevin who took his time to sip his coffee and placed it down gently on the table which annoyed her since he was slow to take the newspaper from her hand.

Finally he looked at the newspaper and took it from Meena's hand. Assuming from the look on Meena's face, he read the headlines on the front page which said: "Meena Blade was furious when she found out that her husband had cheated on her so she shot him" Kevin stopped reading and a look of disapprovement appeared on his face, he stared at Meena whose face held anger and embarrassment.

"Brother! Do something about this!" she shouted while pointing at the newspaper in her brother's hand.

Kevin didn't say anything and just stared coldly at the newspaper. The more he looked at it, the more stress he felt if his parents returned to find their reputation was affected by this news.

Meena didn't like how quiet her brother is, the anger building up in her rose and she started shouting.

"Brother-" before she could finish her sentence.

Kevin's phone started ringing, he picked up the call and stood up from his seat while taking his coat with him.

"I'll be there in 10 minutes." he said and ended the call, he started walking off.

Meena hated being ignored the most by her brother.

"Brother Kevin! Where are you going?" she shouted across the dining room, her angry voice echoed in the room making all the other servants afraid of her.

However, Kevin didn't respond and left the room.

Meena stomped on her feet and headed back upstairs to her room.

The servants helped Lena clean up the mess on the floor and applied some ointment onto her burning skin. Tears streamed down Lena's face as she held onto one of the other servants waist and cried while hugging them.

Kevin strode all the way to his car and got inside, he started driving carefully around the fountain and stepped hard on the pedals when he reached the road...
