Chapter 4 Four - Hunter Page

Hunter Page, the only sigma in the Western Continent, still couldn't get the big smile off his face. He just evolved into sigma a year ago and he was already gotten a gift like this.

"Hunter," Matthew muttered looking straight at Hunter while he looked at him casually.

"Good afternoon too, Crown Alpha."

Ellie watched the two betas in the room bend their bodies in front of the man named Hunter. The behavior they show makes Ellie question what's the type of classifications Hunter is because obviously, betas don't treat Matthew that way.

Is this man the one called The Sigma? The myth among gamma circles.

Sigma is the highest caste of all the human type classifications in this world. They can only be alone in one continent because two or more sigma cannot be in one place at the same time. The existence of sigma is never known by gamma. That's because sigma is actually the main ruler of a continent, while alpha is a symbol of a continent.

All decisions made by an alpha must obtain prior approval from sigma before they are made, it was widely known by beta and alpha itself. The power a sigma hold is also far above alpha, especially beta.

They have physical, intelligence, and communication strength that is far different from both beta and alpha. They also have a strong ability that only a fellow sigma has. And every alpha in a continent is under the authority of sigma with a blood agreement that is made every time a new sigma or alpha appears. Likewise, with Matthew. He had made a blood pact to become a sigma subordinate a year ago when Hunter appeared at the Crown Alpha building and announced that he was a sigma.

What makes Hunter more terrifying than the other two sigmas in the Eastern and Southern Continent is because Hunter has a strength level of 100. So, roughly, he has power over all humans in the world for now. And The Seven Nation is very grateful because so far Hunter and the other sigmas are still working well with them.

"Do you know who I am?" asked Hunter as he walked over to Ellie.

The girl did not answer and only met Hunter's gaze with a hint of suspicion.

"Let me introduce myself then, my goddess, Hunter Page, The Sigma of the Western Continent," said Hunter grabbed Ellie's hand, and kissed her gently.

"Ellie Alan," said Ellie, even though she knows he already knew.

Hunter's smile widened, "How old is she?"

Allison gasped in surprise, she glanced at the measuring device in the beta hand beside her and real Ellie's age. "She's seventeen years old, Sir."

"Ah, how much longer until you are eighteen?"

"Umm, in about four months from now."

"That's not too long."

Ellie's confused expression made Hunter smile in amusement.

Naturally, the girl looked confused by what was happening now. She has been running from her responsibilities all this time. But, it's a little confusing why an omega decided not to admit their identity quickly, Hunter frown with both hands crosses in front of his chest. Isn't the luxury and convenience that an omega gets was too good to be dismissed?

"Well then, you come with me," said Hunter finally, turning around.

"Why should I come with you?"

Hunter turned his head slowly at Ellie's word. He frowned, annoyed, this is the first time someone said something like this after his announcement as a sigma.

"Excuse me?"

Ellie swallowed hard, she knows she wasn't capable of even for a little bit defy this man's words, but she still repeated her words. "Why do I have to follow you?"

Hunter chuckled, "Did you also say that to Matthew?"

Matthew looked at the two of them alternately and realized what Hunter's gaze meant. That man didn't think that an omega such as Ellie was trying to taunt him.

"I hurt her friend!" shout Matthew fast.

"What?"

"I hurt her friend, so she obeyed my orders to follow me."

"Ah, so you're a little troublesome, huh, my goddess." After saying that Hunter raised one of his hands in the air with open palms.

"Wait a minute, Hunter, you don't-"

Matthew's word was cut short when Hunter's hands that were opened in the air closed and clenched. Instantly Matthew and the two betas in the room let out a small squeal dan fell simultaneously to the floor hard.

Seeing that, Ellie covered her mouth with a startled cry.

"Don't worry, I didn't kill them," explained Hunter, smiling, "I just knocked them out, in about two or three hours they'll wake up."

"Y-you..."

"You really don't know anything apart from your textbooks, do you?"

Hunter voice was low, filled an amazement, making Ellie trembled in fear. He walked over to her still with a menacing smile. Truly, Ellie wanted to avoid and get away from Hunter, but her whole body seemed to not want to cooperate with her.

"Come with me and I'll have someone explained everything to you."

"Will you also make me pass out if I don't follow you?" asked Ellie in a trembling voice.

Hunter smiled and stroked Ellie's cheek, giving her a chill all over her body. "Tell me, why have you been hiding your identity all this time, you know that at every eighteen birthday every gamma in the world must take a measurement test of their strength. So, what's the point of running away if you too will be found at the age of eighteen by the government?"

"At least I could live a normal life during those eighteen years."

"Is that what you're after? Live a normal life?"

Ellie did not answer with words, but Hunter could read her expression.

"Then this time I ask you, in eighteen years you lived as a normal 'gamma', are you happy?"

Ellie froze in her stand.

Is she happy? Of course, she's happy. Why should she be unhappy?

"How many years ago your parents died?" asked Hunter suddenly.

"How do you know they've-"

"Sigma can read the life history of an omega easily, Ellie. Well, actually not just omega, we can also read the life history of alpha and beta, except for gamma," suddenly Hunter chuckled softly, "gamma, what a useless bunch, huh?"

"Wha-what?"

"Well, not all gamma is useless, some of them are quite useful. Even quite loyal to me, but other than that," Hunter stared blankly ahead for a while until finally shaking his head with a smile on his face. "They are just a group of weak humans acting strong without realizing the power that they hold is only limited as the dust in the air."

Ellie stared at Hunter's face closely, the man's expression shows how much he hated gamma that his jawbone tightened every time he mentions the word.

"Well, it's all in the past. What's important now is you, Ellie."

"Me?"

"Yes, you are a pleasant surprise to me and the entire Western Continent. You know how The Seven Nation and the other continent would be so freaking surprised to know that the Western Continent has an omega. Moreover, an omega with a strength level of 100 like you! That would be amazing!"

Hunter walked to Ellie while stretching out his hand. He never imagined that an omega would appear during his tenure as a sigma. So, Ellie's presence today is very much a supporting aspect in his plan for the future.

The distance between Hunter and Ellie was only about one meter, but Hunter could already smell the girl's pheromone scent. He pulled his corner lips, smiling, as he moved his hand and touched Ellie's hand.

"Regarding you being an omega," Hunter looked straight at Ellie's eyes, "you no longer need to struggle for your life like your parents, you can get everything you wanted without even raising a hand."

Ellie gave a small snort.

There is no need to raise her hand to earn money, now. The joy of being an omega. How fantastic. Being the chosen person that doesn't need to do anything and can live whatever she wants.

Ellie lowered her head, living like that while the people around her were having a hard time working and doing everything, they could to live the allotted time, how selfish, right?

"You're too soft, Ellie."

"Huh?"

"You're too soft," repeated Hunter, his voice sounds irritated.

"I'm sorry?"

"I can read your expression clearly, you know. Feeling guilty for living happily in your rights, while those around you continue to work hard because they can't have what you had? Seriously, you are not responsible for making any one of them happy. What you are doing up until now, just running away from the responsibilities and the blessing you're given shows that you never grateful for what you have."

"I-I..."

"You don't even know what kind of obligation you have to do as omega and just run away from your thought of selfishness and happiness, it's fucking funny, open your eyes and see if there's a reason why an omega appears in the world. They appear to help develop the country they were born in, not to run from reality," Hunter glared at Ellie who was kept silent.

The girl's eyes shook at the facts that Hunter threw at her.

"Come with me, I'll show you what an omega responsibility you needed to do," he stretched his arms open in front of Ellie who still looked surprised.

Ellie lowered her gaze and saw Hunter's hand in front of her.

Responsibilities as an omega.

While looking up at Hunter's straight gaze, Ellie reached out her hand to accept Hunter's hand.

This time she couldn't run away anymore, she had to do her job.
