Chapter 4 Episode 3

Another day at work has passed and Autumn was currently on her way to meet her best friend, Rosey, who had scheduled a lunch date for them to spend some quality time together.

Apparently, Rosey had some gossip to spill about the new job interview that she had just applied for, wanting to become an assistant of the most well-known companies in London.

Autumn was excited to spend some time with her best friend. She always loved the stories that Rosey has to tell her, and she too also had her own stories to tell.

They were meeting up at their favorite cafe, Taboullah Cafe, a well-known cafe in London. The food there was delicious and the feeling that the place gives off just feels so right to both Autumn and Rosey.

Autumn was currently walking down the sidewalk on her way to meet Rosey, who was already at the cafe. A permanent small smile stayed plastered on her lips as she carefully walked down the sidewalk with her walking stick leading her the way.

Abruptly stopping at the end of the sidewalk, she waited patiently for the sound of the bell that signals her to cross the road.

Lightly humming to a catchy tune, a bell was suddenly heard as Autumn carefully stepped onto the road while feeling around with her walking stick.

Everything happened so fast, the sound of a heavy horn blowing suddenly ringed in her ears as she froze. Gently her eyes closed as her heart hammered in her chest, she waited, but nothing came. Only the sound of screeching tires was heard and the smell of smoke filled her nose.

Everywhere seemed to fall silent, or was it the fear that paralyzed her body and caused her senses to go numb. Her walking stick shook as she tightly grasps onto it. Her breathing was jagged and her eyes formed a layer of hot gloss that stung her eyes.

The world around her seemed to replay as she lightly gasped for air before the sound of harsh scolding was heard, "What the actual f**k is wrong with you, lady, are you blin,-

The man's voice came to a stop as Autumn turned her head in the direction of his voice as it captured her attention. The man observed Autumn's figure in awe as his attention was too captured by her.

Autumn was suddenly broken out of her trance as she flinched when a hand was pressed against her lower back. This time, an unfamiliar woman's voice filled her ears as she scolded the man for her actions, " Are you stupid, the light was on red, are you blind?" She asked stressing the pronoun 'you' as she leads Autumn across the road.

"Are you alright, miss?" She asked as Autumn nodded with a small smile, "Yes, just a bit shaken up, but I'm fine, thank you for helping me," she said as the woman smiled, "No problem, people are just too arrogant these days, have a good day, miss," she said as Autumn nodded with the same small smile, "Same to you, miss," she said before continuing her journey.

As Autumn continued to make her way to the cafe, the mysterious man with the captivating voice lingered on her mind leaving her deep in thought. She suddenly stopped as his voice echoed in her head, "Who was he?" She thought as the longing, desperation feeling began to eat away at her.

She was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts by a familiar voice, "Autu, are you okay?" Rose asked as Autumn snapped her head towards the direction of her voice with a wide-growing smile on her face, "Rosey!" She exclaimed in an excited tone as Rose giggled before pulling Autumn into her embrace.

"Hey, bestie, what are you doing standing outside?" She asked as Autumn spaced out a bit causing Rose to slightly pull away to examine her face.

"Autumn, are you okay?" She asked snapping Autumn out of her trance, "Oh, um, yeah, I'm fine, just a bit stressed because of work," she said as Rose furrowed before smiling while locking their arms together, "Well, then let's go inside and talk about it, I have so much to tell you," she said as Autumn grinned letting Rose lead her the way.

As they entered the cafe, Rose led Autumn to their regular seat before calling over a waitress. The waitress came to their attendance with a warm smile on her face, "Hey, Rose, hello, Autumn, it's nice to see you girls again," she was said in a happy, preppy tone as both Autumn and Rose grinned, "Hey, Debby," they both greeted in unison before passing over their menu, "The usual please, Debby," Rose said as Debby nodded before leaving to attend their order.

"I really missed you, Rosey, how did the interview go?" Autumn asked as Rose grabbed her both hands while denying with a hum, "I missed you too, Autu, but let's not talk about me first, how is work, and why are you so stressed about it?" She asked as Autumn sighed, "It's nothing serious, you know how critical the customers can be," she said as Rose hummed before smirking, "And what about your flirty head chef?" She asked as Autumn rolled her eyes, "We've been over this, Rose, Amber is not flirty," Autumn said as Rose scoffed.

"Yes, she is, you just don't see it," she said as Autumn chuckled, "Glee, I wonder why?" She asked as both she and Rose giggled, "I'm telling you, girl, that woman has the hots for you and you're telling me that she didn't say or do anything that made you suspicious?" She asked as Autumn lowered her head while blushing.

Rose's eyes widened as she squeals in her seat, "Omg, tell me everything," she said in an excited tone as Autumn giggled, "Well, a few days, I was heading to work but I stopped by the playground to say hello to Lexi, the little girl whose mother I helped find," she said as Rose hummed, "Well, we were saying our farewells to one another when Amber showed up," she said as Rose smirked, "Showed up, my ass, that woman was watching you," Rose said as Autumn scoffed, "Shush Rosey, and listen," she whined as Rose giggled.

"Anyway, I was shocked that she was there and she ended up offering me a ride to work, which I declined but she was so persistent about it, and I eventually gave in," she said as Rose smirked, "I swear, Autumn, you're so submissive," she said as Autumn gasped, "I'm not, but enough about me, how did your interview go?" She asked as Rose sighed while sitting back in her seat, "It went well, I guess, but the company owner is super hot," she said as Autumn gasped, "Rose, you got a boyfriend," she said as Rose rolled her eyes, "Not my kind of hot, Autumn," she said as Autumn furrowed, "Then, why did you call him hot?" She asked as Rose laughed at her innocent friend, "I'm referring to you, Autumn," she said Autumn's furrow deepened, "Me?" She asked in confusion.

"Yes, you, Autumn, you need a man in your life," she said as Autumn scoffed, "I don't need no man, I can take care of myself," she said

as Rose nodded, "I know you can, but everyone deserves love, honey," she said as Autumn sighed, "I know, it's just I haven't found my Mr. Right, yet," she said as Rose raised her eyebrows, "Have you been trying?" She asked as Autumn stayed silent, "Exactly, and I'm going to make sure you meet your Mr.Right."
