Morgan was sleeping and she was watching him until his phone starts ringing and he eventually woke up. He opened his eyes just to look at the girl lying next to him. He parted his lips to question her until he recalled the car sex they had last night. "Hello?" he grabbed the phone and answered it without watching the name. In a moment he adjusted himself real quick. "Yes, dad..." he said respectively. Morgan stood up to stretch his body...he was only in his briefs. It was the sight to behold.
Sophie could only gawk at his tight abs and perfect body. "We have to leave, Sophia..." he said dressing when he came out of the washroom. "Sophie..." she corrected. He paused for a moment and turned to face her, then with a slight nod he spoke, "Oh yes, Sophie."
Both of them went to have breakfast in a five-star restaurant then went to the company together. Morgan was getting along with the girl, he enjoyed her company.
After all, his father had gifted him a toy to play with. David noticed both of them walking in together, a ghost of a smile touched his lips. Walking back into his cabin, he dialled the number of his wife and exclaimed, "Well, darling. What did I tell you?"
"Even though my son had spent the night with the girl, Sophie. But they both arrived together..."
Emma was delighted to know. Maybe her only son could like the girl and settle with her.
She was familiar, her father was an old friend of David. Instead of having fun with cheap nightstands, he can enjoy his time with Sophie. Sipping her tea, she snapped back from the moment when Mary called her out. "Emma, what are you planning to wear?" Mary asked in a pleasant tone. "I don't know yet. Let's go shopping..." answered Lady Colton. "Yes, since we only have a week. Let us prepare for the occasion this evening..." Jennifer, Lara's mother sipped her tea, her tone fascinating. The three ladies were sitting on the tea house, famous for the women of the rich circle. And all three of them had a membership since their marriage. Mary was annoyed a little before she came here. She was thinking that her son would finally agree to get married. But none of their kids was getting married. Not even Lara. It was so heart wrenching for the mothers to see their children single at this age. It was intentional. None of them gets serious to anyone. Shawn and Lara prefers to stay single while Morgan was the one stubborn lad.
He prefere one night stand rather than falling in love.
Emma was so worried for her only son.
Soon the week passed by and it was the weekend. Lara and her father had arranged the opening ceremony of the office named "Lara's". It was an event planning company, the head office of Lara and the assistant, the manager and all the workers and the ground floor was decorated specially for the clients to see their skills. The party took place in the company and all of the rich people were invited.
Morgan and Shawn arrived early as it was their best friend's special day.
While talking, Lara asked, "Dude, you've been spending a lot of time with Sophia...lately."
"Sophie, " he corrected. Morgan was looking ravishing in a black tuxedo, a tall and handsome gentleman. Shawn, Lara and Morgan were in the cabin of Lara and were talking. "Yeah, Sophie. So, what it is, Morgan? Should we celebrate because you found a girl?"
Morgan was quiet, he didn't answer.
Lara's assistant came to inform her that her father was calling her. "Come on, let's roll a joint till then, " Morgan slides his left hand into his pocket and walked out with Shawn following him. Both of them were leaning on the black Range Rover, smoking the weed. "So, bro...like, you are serious with that girl, Sophie?" Shawn twitched his lips and asked. "I don't understand, bro. Why do you all want me to get settled with her? She is just a new toy in loving to play with..." Morgan released the smoke out from his mouth. Shawn heard a noise as he turned around he was stunned to look at the female figure standing behind the car. "Dude..." he spoke in a very low voice and Morgan turned around, his calm face changed into astonished one. "Sophie..." he murmured when she turned to leave, sobbing. Throwing the cigarette on the ground, Morgan squished it then ran after the girl. "Sophie! Wait!" he called out. When he finally caught her, he spoke, "Sophie, I..."
"Save it, Morgan. I'm not interested anymore. Glad to hear I was just a toy to you..."
Morgan was quiet, he had just parted his lips to speak when she continued, "I wish someone do the same you did to me. I wish someone thinks of you as a toy and breaks your heart. I wish..."
"Morgan, I wish...someone breaks your heart in the same way you broke mine."
"All of these things don't matter to you at all, Morgan. You are not a man but a dumbass boy. I'm glad to know the real you. And from on, please don't let me see you..."
Tears were streaming off her eyes when she was speaking. Shawn was listening to all of it from a distance, he felt bad for his best friend. Morgan stood silent, just watching the pain she was holding in her eyes. Without insulting him further, Sophie turned to leave. He sighed deeply, closing his eyes for a while.
As soon as he turned around, he saw Shawn was looking at Lara who was standing on the stairs, looking at him. She was expressionless but he knew that his friends would be feeling sorry for him. It was no one's fault, that he knows. Lara turned to walk back in and Morgan rushed towards his car. Shawn was only looking at him when he started the car and raced over. The guests had arrived and all faces smiling. Lara went on the stage and held the mic close to her mouth. "Hello, everyone. Welcome to the opening ceremony of Lara's..." her speech began and everyone was happy. Emma was gazing around trying to find her som, Morgan who was nowhere to be found. She then walked to Shawn and asked, "Where is Morgan?"
"I...dont know, aunty."
Shawn, of course, had to lie for Morgan was in a rage. He won't listen to anyone at the moment. Lara looked around to find her best friend then glared at Shawn with those deep eyes. Morgan was nowhere to be found.
Sitting in the empty area of his father's nightclub, Morgan had been drinking. His appearance was not so appropriate. The sleeves of his shirt rolled up and the first two buttons of his shirt remained open.
He gulped the drink swiftly and thought about what Sophia told him. Her every word was sharp just like a knife cutting through his beating heart.
Morgan never felt anything, but this was the grief. He was feeling guilty for using girls like a toy.
He used all the girls just for fun. And at this moment he could only regret it.
He was gazing at his empty glass until the bartender poured a drink for him. He was silent, his mind just racing to the different thoughts. Morgan had always been a bad boy...all this life. He has dashing looks, coloured eyes and he is a hunk. Girls drool over him pretty easily. He doesn't even have to try. Morgan had never been in love and he keeps himself away from these things.
And nobody insulted him like the way Sophie did. That time he controlled himself so much if it was a guy who was insulting him he would have been calling a fight. He grasped himself, he was sane at that time. But now... Crashing the glass of wine on the marble floor, his hands gripped the bottle in his hands, his eyes swivelling towards the back of his head in a distressing sense of a headache. He titled his head to the edge of the couch as he took a long swig of the dark substance that affected him. He sighed as the walls become part of a funhouse, the club was nothing but a relaxing thing right now, for him. His breath was underlying cause the smell of the alcohol that entered his nostrils, and his mouth was sore from the amount of the alcohol that he poured down his throat.
He cleared his throat as he stood up, just to fall back down on the couch in an unbalanced attempt to walk out of the club. He was out of his mind...the bartender noticed it and immediately ran to call the guards. His guards came to take him back to the event. "Attwood! Do I look a raunchy guy to you?" he asked in a loud tone.
Morgan was drunk but he was in his senses.
Then the guard put Morgan's arm on his shoulder and walked with him. In the car, on the back seat, Morgan leaned back while he rolled a joint.
Smoking in, smoking out, he was high at the moment. The driver drove back to the party and it was dinner time. Morgan wore his coat, trying to open his eyes. He was fully drunk when he jumped out of the back seat of the car.
His eyes red and deep, the cigarette was half-lit on his left hand. He took a mouthful puff of it and adjusted his coat then threw the joint on the ground, squishing it completely with his feet. The driver offered him his shoulder when he denied, clicking his tongue he tottered on his feet. The guests were joined for dinner, the clattering of the utensils and the chiming of the wine glasses was heard in there when Morgan stepped in. It was that moment when he was whirling and before he could fall he grabbed the vase which was carefully placed on the side table but it slipped off his strong hands which were now weak. The alcohol in his system made him do this. All of the people diverted their attention to him. Lara along with Emma and David looked towards Morgan who was trying to stand steadily. Shawn clicked his tongue as he cursed under his breath. "What is this, now?" he muttered under his breath. David had a hard line across his forehead, he was pissed. It was clear that Morgan was drunk, his eyes were red and he was trying his best to control himself. David clenched his jaw while Emma looked at her only son in pity. Lara and Shawn were blankless. Then Shawn immediately rushed to get hold of his best friend. "Bro! What is happening to you?" Shawn asked in a murmur. "What is your son doing here in this condition?" David asked Emma in a low stern tone. She could only gulp in nervousness. "Bro! Sophie just..." Shawn didn't let him complete his sentence when he quickly put his hand on his mouth to cover it.
Taking him to the washroom side, Shawn opened the door and gently pushed his best friend in. "What is it, brother?" Shawn held both of his shoulders and asked. Morgan chuckled lightly then his laugh grew bigger and louder. "Hush up! Asshole!" Shawn uttered in a low voice. "You know, dude. That Sophie girl...she just cursed me that I..." he pointed towards himself then continued, "Morgan Colton will never get true love. My heart will be broken just like I broke the hearts of the girls out there."
"How many were they?" he began counting on his fingers then clicked his tongue and added, "countless. Brother, countless."
"Wash your fucking face, bro."
Shawn opened the tap and made his best friend wash his face. He didn't wash his face but instead, he kept on laughing. "What the bloody hell!" Lara came into the men's washroom and asked unaware. Morgan was sitting on the marble where the washbasins were placed, he was laughing. "Uncle told me to keep him in here until the guests go away. I'm sending lime juice for him, Shawn, take care of him."
Shawn gave a nod and Lara went away. They waited for all the guests to go then Morgan Colton was called out by his father. It was only Shawn, Lara and Morgan's family present there. Emma continuously rubbed her hands together. She was terrified.
Morgan walked towards his father, tottering and swirling.
"What is it, young man?" his father asked in a stern tone. "What is this behaviour?"
"Father, that girl...Sophia..." Morgan was paused then continued, "Sophie...she told me that I am a playboy."
Then he started laughing speaking, "She said I won't ever find true love and that my heart..." Morgan could not even complete his sentence when he got a tight slap from his father. Emma along with all the ladies gasped in horror. He was just going to fall on the floor when Shawn immediately caught him. "Get up, young man! Go home!" David was in a rage. While Emma was staring blankly at her husband, Shawn took Morgan out of there. Lara was only quiet then she ran after her friends.
"David?" Emma asked unbelievably. "Not a word..." he retorted. While Shawn was making his best friend sit on the rear seat of his car, Lara came running. "You guys! Where are you going?" she asked opening the door of the passenger seat. All three of them went to Shawn's penthouse and Morgan was leaning back on the sofa. "Bro, you got any liquor?" hearing this, both Shawn and Lara exchanged unaware looks. "Nah, bro. But I can order some for you, " answered the best friend. "Yeah. Why don't you just rest till then?" Lara suggested. Morgan gave a slight nod, his mood was ruined. While walking towards the room when his eyes got fixed on the long mirror hung on the wall. He noticed the red mark on his cheek. It was from the slap he got from his dad. Lara had just removed her high heels and jumped on the sofa when she turned around to look at the figure who was examining his face on the mirror. Morgan reached out to touch his cheek, it was still hot.
Flashbacks of the scene came through his eyes and his jaw goes clenching. Another moment and a hard line across his forehead were visible as he tightened his fist in anger. Just then Morgan grabbed the showpiece from the nearby table and hurled to the mirror. In a moment the mirror shattered into a million pieces. Shawn and Lara immediately stood up in a gasp. None of them had the idea of what he might be doing. "Dude! That's my mirror!" Shawn rushed to Morgan and grabbed his arm. "Are you insane, Morgan?" Lara blurted out. "That fucking girl ruined my whole mood!" Morgan screamed in a loud tone. His friends, of course, knew whenever he is in a bad temper he shouts. He takes out all the aggression right at that moment. And it was a healthy habit. At least he doesn't keep all the anger inside of him so that he crumbles now and then. "You need to sleep, bro..." Shawn suggested taking him in the room. That night he slept and even in his dream he saw the exact scenario repeating in front of his eyes. Sophie was imprecating him all the way.
