Chapter 6 Be My Boyfriend

"I'm not asking you to be my real boyfriend. We don't have to be in a relationship; I just want you to pretend. I know that you already have a boyfriend. Don't worry; I won't break your relationship," Mandy explained. Part of her felt sad. Robert wouldn't be interested in a woman like her even if he broke up with his boyfriend. Judging the voice in the bathroom, and the reflection through the glass, she assumed that the man he was with must be really excellent.

"What? I have a boyfriend? Who is my boyfriend?" Robert arched his eyebrow. He couldn't understand what Mandy was talking about. However, her affirmative tone made him wonder if some guy was in love with him.

"The man who was in the bathroom. Wasn't that your boyfriend?" Mandy whispered.

"What? Bathroom? Who was in the bathroom? What are you talking about?'' The table creaked as Jean leaned on the table. Mandy's confession had taken her by surprise. But what she heard after that left her stunned. Jean's gaze involuntarily shifted to the man in front of her, who finally changed his expression. She couldn't help but wonder if he really had a boyfriend.

"Who told you that he is my boyfriend?" Robert asked, shaking his head as if trying to wrap his head around what Mandy had just said.

"Well, you guys share the same room in the hotel, and I saw him in the bathroom taking a shower. Isn't it obvious?" Mandy shrugged nonchalantly.

Robert put the coffee back on the table and stared into Mandy's eyes. "Look, I am saying this for the first and last time. He is not my boyfriend."

"Why are you not admitting that he is your boyfriend? Are you forced to be in a relationship with him?" Mandy's thoughts went wild again.

Judging Robert's majestic look, she assumed that he was from a noble family. But he had opened a small barbecue stall. Although it was one of the famous shops in the city, it seemed unlikely for a rich man to open a small restaurant. Mandy wondered if he had failed in his business.

Did his family disown him for being gay? Was that the reason why he was staying with his boyfriend at the hotel? Perhaps this restaurant belonged to his boyfriend, and Robert was taking care of it during his absence.

"Does this stall belong to the man who was showering in your bathroom?" Mandy asked with wide eyes.

"Yes." Robert nodded.

"Ah! It makes sense now. Since you don't want to be his boyfriend, why don't you be mine?" Mandy pleaded, cocking her head to the side.

She felt sorry for Robert. If she hadn't seen him with another man in the hotel room, she wouldn't have believed that he was gay. Mandy made up her mind to save him from his bossy boyfriend and this unpleasant relationship.

Jean's jaw dropped in shock; her friend continued to surprise her. She wondered if Mandy had fallen for him. Why else would she express her love for him over and over again?

She couldn't wait to see Robert's reaction. Would he accept Mandy as his girlfriend or not?

A smile tugged at the corners of Robert's lips. He shook his head and took a sip of coffee without answering Mandy's question.

Robert was the only male guest in the barbecue stall. Therefore, all eyes were on him.

Moreover, he had handled the problem the woman had created with such ease.

His charm and behavior impressed everyone, including Mandy.

"What do you think? Have you made up your mind?" Robert wiped his lips as he finished his coffee. However, he still didn't have the answer to Mandy's request.

"Do you really want me to be your boyfriend?" Robert asked with a strange expression on his face that Mandy couldn't understand.

She nodded, ignoring the incomprehensible feeling that had settled in her heart.

Mandy's heart fluttered every time she looked at the man's handsome face. He not only looked good but had an incredible attitude as well. Robert would make a perfect boyfriend someday. Mandy felt that introducing him to her aunt would put an end to all her problems. She wouldn't force her to attend blind dates anymore.

Mandy leaned closer and held Robert's hand. "I will make you happy. Trust me,'' she promised, staring into his eyes.

Mandy's confession left Robert speechless. He stared at every inch of her pretty face. Mandy fluttered her eyelashes and bit her lip, looking at him hopefully. The man had never seen any woman like her before.

Mandy had kissed him on their first encounter and was expressing her love for him now.

The woman's unique behavior drew him to her.

He wanted to know more about Mandy. Everything seemed new to him.

Robert's friends would be shocked if they heard him confess that he was interested in someone. Several women were after him, but the man didn't bat an eyelid at anyone. However, everything was different around Mandy. He wanted to spend more time with her.

Jean sipped on drink as she continued to watch their interaction with wide eyes. The unexpected turn of events made her uncomfortable.

Mandy had confessed her feelings without thinking, but the man seemed cold and aloof. Robert's presence sent a shiver down Jean's spine, but she couldn't understand how Mandy managed to remain calm.

"Trust me, I can save you from your current situation!" Mandy continued to persuade him.

Robert blew out a loud breath, for Mandy had rendered him speechless. He couldn't understand what was going on in her mind. Mandy managed to surprise him every time they met.

"Order whatever you like. It's on me." Robert stood up and walked to his office.

Mandy's eyes widened with shock.

The man had left without answering her question, which confused her even more.

"Hey, I am a woman!" Mandy called anxiously. Robert instantly stopped and turned to look at her.
