Chapter 2 Getting Engaged

Every word that Helen said during the Internet stream only sounded more vulgar than the last. Molly couldn't possibly recover from that attack on her reputation, and she couldn't explain it to the public. Hence, she had no choice but to snatch the phone from Helen and end the Internet stream.

Helen lifted her foot and landed a hard kick on Molly's belly. Surprised by the attack, Molly lost her balance and fell to the floor.

"I kept telling you that she's a bitch. Do you believe me now?" Elsa Zhang said.

Molly didn't expect Helen to make a scene like this. Now that so many netizens had seen her in that pathetic state, she wanted to hide.

"It's not like that..." she tried to explain.

"Oh, really? Wasn't it because of you that Aunt Melissa is in the ICU? Didn't you try to seduce Eric's uncle?" Elsa Zhang crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the bookshelf as she looked at her coldly.

It wasn't until then that Molly realized that Elsa Zhang had been watching quietly as Helen humiliated her. Elsa was the manager of the company. How could she sit by and watch without doing anything?

"Elsa, you know me, right? I'm not that kind of a person. I have been wronged," Molly whimpered and said to Elsa Zhang, grabbing her sleeves.

Elsa Zhang shrugged and said with a disgusted expression, "I know you're a bitch, Molly. You have brought this upon yourself!"

"You don't believe me?" Molly asked, looking at Elsa Zhang in disbelief.

"I can believe what I see with my own two eyes. Eric treated you like his own sister and you ruined him. How could you be so heartless?"

Elsa Zhang used to be very good to Molly. In fact, whenever she got something nice, she would first give it to Molly. They used to be such good friends that Molly couldn't believe that Elsa had turned against her.

She looked at Elsa Zhang in disbelief. If it weren't for Elsa, she wouldn't have stayed in Darrow's room and hurt Melissa. After all that she had done, Elsa was being a cold and heartless bitch.

Molly lowered her head, wanting to go back to her room. However, Elsa Zhang stopped her.

"Because of your shameful behavior, the company has decided to suspend your account for one month. During that time, you will not be doing any live streaming,"

Elsa Zhang said with a smug smile.

Upon hearing that, Molly's heart surged with anxiety. She was being treated unfairly. If she accepted her suspension, it would mean that she was admitting to seducing Eric's uncle. Moreover, if she stopped her Internet streaming, she would lose her twenty million fans, and they meant everything to her.

Her Internet streaming was broadcasted at 8 o'clock every day, and her fans would watch regularly. She couldn't afford to let them down.

"You don't have the right to make that decision. However, if Eric says so, then I will accept it," Molly said.

"Eric? You can't call him Eric anymore. You have to refer to him as Mr. Xiao," Elsa Zhang said, poking Molly's chest and sneering.

Molly felt as if someone had stabbed her heart. She choked back her tears and said, "If Mr. Xiao wants me to stop, I will. What you say doesn't matter."

"Judging by your tone, it seems like you're trying to sleep with him. Don't forget that you already seduced his uncle. Besides, Eric is disgusted by you," Elsa Zhang snapped.

Everyone who heard that burst into laughter, except for Molly. But then, the room quieted down again.

Molly turned and saw Eric standing near the doorway, dressed in a black suit. His handsome face was colder than ever.

"Eric, are you done with your work?"

The moment Elsa Zhang saw him, she walked to him with a bright smile and brushed her breast against his arm intimately.

Everyone at work knew that Elsa Zhang was in love with Eric. In the past, Eric had been good to Molly, so everyone had assumed that he liked her. But one day, Elsa had come to Molly in tears and begged her to get a boyfriend. That was why Molly had started dating Darrow. After that, people naturally considered Elsa as Eric's girlfriend.

Eric cast a cold glance at Elsa Zhang and said, "I'm getting engaged to Molly next month. The announcement will be made tomorrow."

Elsa Zhang's smile froze. She had been anticipating that he would insult Molly and that she could have a good laugh, but things hadn't gone as she had expected.

Molly couldn't believe her ears either. She waited for him to say it again so that she could hear it clearly. However, Eric turned around and left. Had he come here to announce this?

Elsa Zhang slapped Molly, which made Molly believe that Eric was indeed going to get engaged to her.

"You bitch! First, you seduced Eric's uncle, and now, you have your claws on him. I'm going to kill you!"

Elsa Zhang roared. Everyone was on her side, but when they remembered that Molly was going to be Eric's fiancee, they realized that they had to support her, so they dragged Elsa away.

In the next two days, Eric seemed to have disappeared altogether. There was no way for Molly to ask him to take back his decision. She had always regarded Eric as her brother. How could she be engaged to him? Besides, she already had Darrow, although he was abroad now.

During this time, Molly lost a lot of weight. Since she had lost her appetite, she could only eat a tenth of what she used to. She felt weak and dizzy, so she had to go to the hospital.

"What?"

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Molly's head started spinning. How could she have stomach cancer?

"Are you sure, doctor? I'm a food reviewer, and I've always eaten healthy. How could I have cancer?" she asked.

The doctor sighed and replied, "Stomach cancer doesn't show any symptoms at first, and I don't know how to explain it in layman terms. The important thing is, you need to be hospitalized immediately so that we'll have a chance of stopping the spread of the cancer cells."

Shaking her head, Molly slumped on the chair and said grimly, "I have to think about it."

"It's better to get treated now. Later, it might get worse and you might face the risk of losing your life," the doctor replied.

Holding her test reports, Molly walked out of the hospital, lost in thought. After walking a few steps, she realized that Melissa was also in the same hospital, so she decided to pay her a visit.

Melissa's nurse informed her that her condition was much better now and that if she continued to recover at the same rate, she might wake up in no time. Only after knowing that did Molly feel better.

When she walked into Melissa's ward, she noticed that Melissa's forehead was dotted with sweat, so she grabbed a basin of water and wiped her with a wet towel.

"What are you doing, Molly?" Elsa Zhang's angry voice came from behind her.

Molly turned around and said, "Can't you see for yourself?"

At that moment, Eric appeared at the door. Elsa Zhang rushed to him and said, "Eric, take her away from here. I just saw her trying to strangle your mother!"
