Chapter 6 Zoe Fell Down The Stairs (Part Two)

"Yes. You can go and see her now. She is out of danger and will be discharged soon," the doctor said with a smile. It was the first time that he had encounter such a case, so he was also happy with the result.

"Thank you, doctor. I'll go and see her now." After expressing his gratitude to the doctor, Harry trotted to Zoe's ward. He was so excited to see her now.

Meanwhile, Austin had just finished telling Wyatt about his encounter with Zoe fifteen years ago. After listening to him, Wyatt was lost in thought.

After a while, he said, "Austin, I think you really like Zoe so much. You haven't seen each other for so many years, with not even a single communication, but you have not given up on her. In fact, you are still looking for her. But you said that she has just gotten married. Even if everyone now knows that she is not normal, her marriage is a fact that the whole world also knows."

"I know that she is married. But since her life is in danger now, I just want to find her and see that she is okay." The pain on Austin's face was very apparent. It seemed that he was the saddest person to know about Zoe's accident.

Austin understood that Wyatt was only worried about him. With a long face, he said, "I know. I just want to see her safe and sound. If it was her choice to marry that man, I would respect her decision."

"I'm glad to hear that. Let's find a hotel and have a rest first. We will look for her after your shoot. Is that okay with you? Don't worry. I'm sure that her husband will take care of her. It doesn't matter if we find her now or later." The truth was, Wyatt thought that Zoe was a poison to Austin. For him, they should not meet for now. It would be better if Austin wouldn't find her. Otherwise, his focus might be affected, and he might just ruin his career.

But Austin seemed to have read his mind as he said, "Wyatt, I know what you are thinking. Just pray that Zoe is fine. Or else, I won't forgive you for the rest of my life." He then walked quickly towards the hotel.

Wyatt was stunned for a while. He cursed Austin in his heart, then ran after him.

Five hours later, James arrived at the hospital. He directly went to Zoe's ward.

As he knocked on the door, Harry came over and opened it at once, greeting him politely. He could sense a trace of guilt in Harry's voice.

James didn't want to talk to Harry. But he needed to know Zoe's condition, so he walked to the bedside and asked, "How is Zoe? Is it serious?"

"Zoe's operation is very successful. Let's just wait for her to wake up. The doctor also said that the accident made her regain her consciousness. When she wakes up, her brain will already function normally. She isn't a fool anymore." Harry was so surprised to hear the joy in his own voice.

"Really?" Obviously, James was delighted with what he heard. He didn't expect that one day, Zoe would come back to normal.

"Yes, Dad. The doctor sounded very sure when he told me that," Harry answered and turned to look at Zoe. "Dad, look! Zoe is awake now," he exclaimed as soon as he saw Zoe open her eyes slowly.

James also turned her head to look at Zoe. She was indeed awake and even called them. "Dad. Harry."

Zoe's way of addressing them didn't change at all. But her voice and expression were totally different. In the past, she spoke in a childish voice, like a five-year-old child who never grew up. But now, her voice sounded like a real adult. Not only that. The way she looked at them now was not as confused as before.

"Zoe, are you really awake now?" James asked and held her hand excitedly.

"Dad, I'll just call the doctor," Harry said and walked out of the ward, giving James and Zoe a time to talk.

"Dad, I'm awake. And I remember everything you have taught me since I was a child." Zoe's smile was no longer childish, but it was still pure and natural.

"Oh, my daughter!" Tears of joy welled up in James' eyes as he gently held Zoe in his arms. But of course, he did not forget her injury, so he held her carefully.

At the age of twenty, even though Zoe had a mental problem, she was good at reading and arts because of the best teachers that James hired. It was true that no matter how stupid a person was, he could always understand things as long as he would be taught from his childhood until adulthood. Although Zoe grew up as a fool and childish, her level of intelligence was not that bad.

When Harry came back with the doctor, they saw James and Zoe embracing each other.

"You must be Zoe's father," the doctor greeted. "I just want to check on her to make sure." The doctor was obviously sympathetic towards James.

"Thank you, doctor." James stood up, giving the doctor a space to check Zoe.

After checking her, the doctor said, "She's totally fine now, especially her mind. She only needs to stay in the hospital for a few more days to have her wounds heal before she can be discharged." The doctor was aware that well-off families like the Jimo family had private doctors. He knew that Zoe would not stay in their hospital for long.

"Okay. Thank you so much, doctor." The doctor saved his precious daughter's life, so James was very polite and grateful to him.

"Dad. Harry. I'm hungry," Zoe said in embarrassment.

"Okay. I'll go get some food for you. Wait for me." James hurriedly ran out of the ward when he heard that Zoe was hungry.

When he was about to walk out of the hospital gate, he brushed past Austin and Wyatt, who were still looking for Zoe.

Finally, Austin found her. He peeped through the door of her ward to see how she was. Wyatt had no choice but to keep an eye for him.

Inside the ward, Austin saw Zoe and Harry being affectionate to each other. When James left, Harry immediately apologized to Zoe for failing to protect her twice. Zoe was his wife, but he was not able to take care of her well.

"Don't blame yourself, Harry. We were both pushed by those paparazzi to the water. How could it be your fault? You've even tried to protect me. And as for that fall on the stairs, I remember that someone called me and told me that you were waiting for me there, so I went out. But when I reached the stairs, someone pushed me down." Zoe didn't want Harry to feel bad, so she tried her best to comfort him. But when he mentioned what happened in the restaurant, he was shocked.

"What did you say? I've never asked anyone to call you outside." All the while, Harry thought that Zoe fell on the stairs accidentally. It never came to him that someone had deliberately planned it. "If it wasn't you, then who asked the waitress to call me? And who pushed me down the stairs?" Zoe was also confused. She couldn't think of anyone who would want to harm her. After all, she was a childish fool who seldom went out. Who could hold a grudge against her?

"Harry, thank you. You really care about me. I love you. I've loved you since I was a child." Zoe looked at Harry with shyness on her face.

Harry was shocked to hear her confession. There had been countless women who liked him, chased him, and even threw themselves at him. But only Zoe's confession gave him a totally different feeling.
