Chapter 5 Don't Kiss Me

Sara didn't want to have too much interaction with a man who was known to have once coveted her. She lowered her head to avoid eye contact with him. "Jonathan, what are you doing here? I thought you were occupied with the social engagements of the company," she said, feigning admiration.

When it came to people like him, it was always better to treat him highly at first.

As she expected, a trace of complacency flashed across Jonathan's face. His eyes flicked between Sara's tender cheeks and chest.

"Women who catch Jacob's attention are really extraordinary." His eyes were full of obscenity. He almost looked like he was drooling.

Sara tried to hide the disgust in her eyes. She suddenly felt as if the dress she wore that day was a really bad decision.

She was wearing a low-necked dress that slightly revealed the cleavage of her breasts. It was a common clothing design nowadays. It looked good on her because the design was charming and flattered her curved figure.

Sara slightly leaned sideways to avoid his gaze. She smiled politely and said, "Jonathan, you are embarrassing me. If you are here to have some fresh air, then I won't disturb you."

If a man and a woman stayed alone for a long while, something could inevitably happen. Besides, looking at Jonathan's lustful face, Sara wouldn't dare to stay there for a moment longer. She walked towards the hall.

How could Jonathan allow her to leave just like that? He stretched out his arm to stop her. "Wait a minute, Sara. Jacob is busy dealing with those big bosses inside there. He has no time to take care of you. Why don't we drink here? It's quiet and comfortable."

He approached Sara as he spoke.

Stunned for a moment, Sara forced a smile and said, "You must be joking, Jonathan. I don't drink, but our cousin Alexia is a good drinker. Let her accompany you."

"But her figure is not as good as yours." As Jonathan spoke, a wickedly lustful smile appeared on his face. He reached out his hand toward Sara.

She backed away in a panic, stepped on the skirt with her heel, staggered, and fell to the ground.

Jonathan offered his hand to pull Sara up, but his head hit the railing of the balcony. His face fell directly on Sara's chest.

Sara felt deeply disgusted. How she wished she could cut off her flesh that was touched by Jonathan and throw it away.

"Oh, it seems that I'm disturbing you." She didn't notice that Jacob had come to the balcony. Neither did she know how much he had seen. She only knew that his eyes were burning with contempt, the kind that made people feel uncomfortable and dejected.

Sara pushed Jonathan away with all her strength and stood up unsteadily. Her immediate reaction was to explain to him what happened. "It's not what you think. This is all a misunderstanding."

After saying that, she came to her senses. She didn't know why she had explained to him in haste. They already got divorced, didn't they?

Jonathan sat on the ground after being pushed away by Sara. He looked at Jacob with a smile and said, "Jacob, you have a good taste in women. You have such a beautiful and sexy wife. I'm so jealous of you."

After saying those words, he wiped the corner of his mouth. His eyes were filled with mockery.

It suddenly dawned on Sara that Jonathan had done that on purpose. He had deliberately felt her up to mislead Jacob.

Now, it was impossible for her to remove the stigma off herself. The disdain in Jacob's eyes suggested that he believed what Jonathan said.

Sara's heart sank.

"I didn't expect you to be so horny that you would just make out with anyone. I never expected you to turn out to be a slut." Jacob shook his head and looked at Sara with disgust and disappointment.

His words pierced her heart. She held back the tears that were welling up in her eyes. She shook her head and asserted, "I will stand by what I said. It is not what it looks like. Nothing happened between us. You can't just jump to the conclusion and insult me like this."

"Insult you?" Jacob raised his eyebrows, "Well, you deserve it."

His words infuriated Sara. The pain in her heart made her lose her mind for a moment. This man always hurt her like this. Her heart was torn apart, and she clenched her fists. She glared at Jacob and said without holding anything back anymore, "Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me this way? I don't deserve it. I don't deserve you. But in other people's eyes, I'm still your wife, a legitimate daughter-in-law of the Shi clan. If you think of me as unworthy, what does that make you?"

Jonathan leaned on the wall on his side and narrowed his eyes. He noticed the undertone of her words. Did she mean that Jacob no longer regarded her as his wife now? 'Interesting!' he thought to himself.

Jacob knew that Jonathan was trying to sow dissension between them. He had planned to play alone with Jonathan's trick to find out what he wanted to do. But he didn't expect Sara to be so stupid that she didn't see through his intention and even let out such harsh words.

He had to admit that he was pissed off by Sara's provocative tone. His heart beat faster and his words became more vicious. "I feel sick to be entangled with such a dirty woman like you."

"You think I'm dirty?" Sara could no longer contain the torrent of tears that built up in her eyes. Finally, she burst into tears, but remarked sarcastically, "If I'm dirty, then you're not any better. After all, we've slept together before!"

"You are an absolutely shameless woman!" Jacob shouted back at her coldly.

Sara was so furious that she ended up laughing. She wrapped her arms around her midsection. Her eyes were cold, and she finally touched Jacob's bottom line. "I'm shameless, so what? You're no better since you also failed married your innocent and sweet first love now didn't y-" Before she could finish her sentence, Jacob kissed her on the lips so passionately.

Jonathan, who stood just next to them, was confused. There seemed to be a lot of information loaded in their words, but he couldn't understand any of it. Anyway, he was sure that there must be some hidden secret between Jacob and Sara. He secretly decided to find it out.

"You are acting like the third wheel." Someone pulled Jonathan by the wrist. He was dragged out of the balcony by a man wearing a floral shirt.

He tidied up his clothes and smiled with satisfaction. Today's banquet was really a big deal. Not only did he hold the beautiful Sara in his arms even just for one second, but he also obtained some information about his rival brother.

In the balcony, the tense atmosphere had completely faded, leaving only intimacy in the air.

With her eyes wide open, Sara looked at the man in front of her. The kiss that stopped her in the middle of a sentence turned into something more intimate and passionate.

Jacob also felt like he was crazy. When he touched her soft lips, he couldn't help but feel so infatuated. The sweetness of champagne that lingered in her lips made him lose his mind. He just wanted more.

He had sucked her lips and tongue countless times. It was familiar, and at the same time, he was so reluctant to let her go. He wanted to go deeper, get closer, and intertwine his body with hers forever.

A sudden taste of blood made Jacob pull back from Sara momentarily.

"You bit me?" Jacob touched his bleeding lips and looked at Sara in disbelief.

With a sneer, Sara responded, "Should have seen that coming when you kiss a dirty woman like me."

Sara wiped her mouth in disgust and glared at the man in front of her indifferently.

"I just didn't want you to talk nonsense with Jonathan here. You know what kind of person he is." It was hard to tell whether Jacob was trying to explain to her or to himself.

After saying that, he felt more confident that he had done the right thing.

Without saying anything, Sara tidied up her dress and stormed out, leaving him alone on the balcony.

After a while, Jacob came back to the party with the usual expression back on his face.

Sara didn't like the relatives of the Shi clan. They were all hypocritical. All they truly cared about was how to grab more family property and how to obtain more benefits.
