Chapter 7 Feed My Woman

"The person you are looking for is in the next room," Clark said, hiding all emotions from his face. "You've been unconscious for three days now."

"Three days?!" Rachel yelled in shock, and then felt dizzy from the action.

No wonder she felt weak all over.

She hadn't eaten or drunk anything for three days.

"You don't have to go through all this next time. Just say the word. I'll make all your problems disappear." Clark threw a quick glance at her injured knees and then left without another word.

Rachel stared at his retreating back, stunned by his words. Clark behaved like he knew her from long back. She wondered if they had ever met in the past.

She was still lost in thought when a surprised voice came from the door.

"Miss Rachel, you are finally awake!"

A petite figure hobbled towards her with eyes brimming with tears. "It's so good to see you well, miss. You almost scared me to death!"

Eva inspected Rachel excitedly, ensuring that she was fine.

"Eva! You are here!" Rachel beamed, but her smile faded as quickly as it came when she saw the wounds all over her body. Her heart ached and her eyes turned red. She said, "I'm sorry, Eva. I couldn't protect you."

"Miss, what are you saying? These tiny wounds don't hurt at all, really..." Eva looked at Rachel with a tearful smile and added, "You had to kneel down in the rain for so long because of me. You did it for me. That's why you got sick. It's my fault."

Rachel shook her head and gently held Eva's scarred hand. "Eva, you are like a sister to me. I promise you. I won't let anybody bully us from now on."

Eva was so touched that she nodded her head immediately. Then, she asked a bit hesitantly, "Miss, are you really going to marry Mr. Clark?"

Embarrassed by her sudden question, Rachel asked in reply, "Why do you ask?"

"Mr. Clark is a wonderful man, but I hope you get married to someone you love and you can be happy with," Eva said earnestly. She looked directly into Rachel's eyes with a kind of determination that Rachel had never seen before in Eva. It was as if she had made up her mind about something important. She said slowly but firmly, "Miss, there is something I need to tell you..."

Rachel frowned when she saw Eva's solemn expression. Eva gritted her teeth and continued in a grave tone, "Miss, it was the Yan Family who had your parents killed."

"Mr. Clark, Miss Rachel hasn't eaten anything yet," the butler reported to Clark in a low voice, his face grim.

Clark stopped writing. He frowned. "Did something happen?"

The butler answered more cautiously, "Nothing that I know of, Mr. Clark. We served several dishes, but she hasn't touched anything. The door is locked from the inside, so we are forced to leave the food outside."

Clark was annoyed to no end. She had not eaten in three days, and yet, the woman refused to replenish her starved body. After some thought, he stood up and left his study. 'What is this woman up to this time?"

When she heard the door open behind her, Rachel, who was standing by the window, said coldly, "Get out!"

Clark approached her nevertheless. "This is my house. I will do as I please," he whispered in her ears and scooped her frail body in his arms with ease.

"Stop it! Put me down! What are you doing?!" she yelled at him and struggled angrily.

Clark stopped and looked at her indifferently. "Since my fiancee is refusing to eat anything by herself, I am forced to do something about it."

Rachel's mouth fell open and she asked in shock, "W-what are you going to do?"

Clark sat her on the bed. "Nothing inappropriate. I'm just gonna feed my woman," he replied casually.

After a pause, he added in a deep, ambiguous voice, "Mouth to mouth."

"What?!" Rachel stared at Clark in astonishment, her eyes and mouth wide open in disbelief.

"I'll eat! I can eat on my own!" In the end, Rachel had no choice but to comply. She took a spoonful of the food from her plate and gobbled it in a hurry, as if it was the only way to vent her anger.

The smile on Clark's face faded in a second and was replaced by shock.

"You..." He frowned at her.

Crystal clear tears fell down her cheeks like worthless broken pearls. However, it didn't seem like she noticed it. Rachel silently ate the food.

A feeling of discomfort seized Clark. He had never seen her cry in any situation until now.

'Did I go too far?' Clark asked himself.

He regretted being forceful on her. Just as he was about to say something, she asked in a shaky voice, "Do you think I'm stupid?"

He frowned again. But before he could answer, she smiled sadly and continued, "I am most certainly the only person in this world who could have misunderstood her enemies for her saviors."

Clark immediately guessed what was going on. He said flatly, "You found out."

Stunned, Rachel stared at him. She opened her mouth, but said nothing.

"If I were you, I would make them pay for it a thousand times fold," he said in a cold tone, but his expression softened when he looked at her sad eyes. "You are only doing them a favor by starving yourself. You are punishing yourself. They lose nothing."

He let his eyes settle upon her beautiful face. Reaching out his hand, he gently wiped off the tear on her pretty eyelash. Slowly, he brought the tear-stained finger to his lips and licked it. Then, he said with a casual smile. "I sense a strong hatred,"

he said in a bewitching tone. His eyes shone.

Rachel's heart raced violently; she blushed and looked away from the enchanting gaze.

She couldn't say anything. After a while, Clark left her to finish her food in peace.

A week passed. The sun was shining brightly outside.

"Miss, it's time for breakfast." Eva's gentle voice came from outside the door. There was no reply. She knocked and opened the door. "Miss?"

There was no one in the room.

"Where is she? Did she go out?" Eva mumbled to herself, confused. Then, she turned around and went downstairs to look for Rachel.

Meanwhile, a person approached the gate of the Yan Family's villa.

"It's me," Rachel said casually into the intercom.
