Chapter 10 Go To The JH Group

After a phone call, Caspar was about to go out with his briefcase. Dressed in a straight suit and an expensive tie, he looked quite different from before.

Meanwhile, Stellar had put on a decent dress as if she was going to attend a party of some socialite divas. She always took great care of her delicate make-up and expensive jewelry. After dressing up, she looked as young as a twenty-year old.

"Dad, I have something to tell you," Sophia said in a very serious tone with her lips pursed.

Looking back at her, Caspar found that Sophia seemed different, but he could not tell why.

"What's up?" After all, Sophia just helped the JH Group get through one of the biggest dilemmas. At this point, it could be seen that Victor must have something to do with his daughter.

"I will work for you starting tomorrow!" Sophia said in a simple but firm tone. The expression on her face did not seem that she was joking.

She was stating a fact, not asking for Caspar's consent.

Clearly, Caspar was stunned. He had never seen such a dominating Sophia before.

Besides, he had an agreement with her before. It was not too much to ask for it.

Standing next to them, Stellar heard what Sophia had said. This made her very anxious. If Caspar agreed with Sophia, Jenny's position would be put in jeopardy.

'No, absolutely not! The JH Group was built by me and Caspar together. I can't allow others to have a finger in the pie. Especially... especially that woman's daughter!'

"Caspar, the party is about to start. I'm going to be late!" Stellar interjected just as Caspar was about to say something.

"Sophia, I should hold a board meeting and discuss it first. Although this company is under your father's name, it still needs to be discussed with others. You don't want your father to be in a dilemma, do you?" Before there was any chance for Caspar to say anything, Stellar had poured out a lot of words.

It was obvious that Caspar got what Stellar meant. He felt lucky that he did not respond so quickly.

"Sophia, let's talk about it when we come back." Stellar had been pushing him all the time. At that moment, Caspar nodded and left to go downstairs.

Sophia's feelings surged in her heart when she looked at their smiling faces. At the sight of them, she could not help but sneer. It seemed that her father still did not trust her after all this time.

"Dad, how could you not take Jenny along with you for such a grand party?" Generally speaking, Jenny would be very willing to attend such kind of events as she would have the chance to talk to some celebrities.

She could not let Caspar know about this.

"Ah! Jenny has done nothing but read in her room since she admitted her mistake! What a foolish girl! She always reads. I won't take her with me this time! Let's go. You have to go to the company's meeting after sending me there!" Stellar said as she raised her expensive watch to see the time.

Fortunately, Caspar seemed to believe what she had told him. Then, he walked out of the door with his wife, no questions asked.

Meanwhile, Sophia watched the two as they slowly disappeared from her sight. Her fist clenched unconsciously.

Victor was sitting leisurely on his swivel chair. From time to time, the corners of mouth twitched as if he had thought of something pleasant.

Knock. Knock. Unexpectedly, someone knocked on the door of the CEO's office.

John was the only person who would knock on his door without a phone call beforehand. Although he was just an assistant, the special treatment Victor gave him was not trivial.

"Come in!" After saying that, Victor straightened his body and regained his usual cold face. His eyes looked sharp, and his thin lips formed a classy smug. He exuded a cold aura, which prevented others from getting too close.

"About the JH Group?" As soon as John entered, he went straight to the point.

Just now, he saw Sophia leave in a hurry, so he was not able to see her expressions clearly. He was afraid that things would change, so he had better come and ask Victor in person.

"Do as we planned. Tomorrow, we'll go to the JH Group," Victor answered flatly.

If Sophia had heard this, she would get mad right away. She had devoted so much time and energy just to get this. The thought of her angry look softened Victor's cold face.

"I see. Do I need to inform Miss Sophia?" John asked casually as he noticed the sudden change on Victor's expression when he mentioned her name.

"No need! Just leave!" If that woman knew about it, things would not be hilarious anymore.

When John looked at Victor, the latter was once again wearing his usual serious expression.

He opened his mouth to say something, but he chose not to. Quietly, he left the CEO's office and closed the door behind him.

"Are you serious? Did you really see a hickey on Sophia's neck when she left?"

"I saw it with my own eyes. She bumped into me when she ran away!"

"Oh my God! Didn't they say that our CEO likes men?"

"Ahem!" As John heard the employees gossip outside the pantry, he deliberately coughed to get their attention.

The group of gossiping girls in the pantry immediately shut up and withdrew.

"You stay!" All of a sudden, John stopped the woman who was the last to leave.

"Mr. Cheng!"

The woman whom John called was the same woman who vowed that she had seen Sophia's hickey. However, she shrank timidly. There was no way she could be confident again now.

"Was it true? Tell me the truth!" John stared at the woman's eyes firmly, afraid that he misheard what she had said.

"Yes! Miss Sophia was in a bad mood when she walked out of the CEO's office. As she was walking out, she accidentally bumped into me. I saw her neck full of... hickeys."

When the woman said the last word, it was as low as a mosquito's voice.

Hearing what she said, John answered calmly, "You're talking about our CEO behind his back during office hours. There's no need for you to work here anymore. In fact, you don't need to come tomorrow!"

"John, please don't..." The woman did not expect to be fired just like that.

"You should have known the rules and regulations in the first place. The company has been kind enough to you!" John waved his hand in dismissal.

The woman knew exactly some employees who spread rumors about the CEO's sexual preference had got fired before. After that, no company dared to hire them.

John returned to his office with a glass of water and fell into a deep thought.

Sophia got up early today. She was wearing a fitted black suit. Her black blouse revealed her beautiful curves and it was partnered with a knee-length skirt. It set off her long and silky legs that most people fantasized. A touch of light delicate make-up made her exude a unique charm in the workplace.

"Humph! It's just a job! Do you really need to dress up so formally? It's not a blind date! Humph!" Jenny scoffed sourly at the sight of Sophia.

When she heard that Sophia would go to the company this morning, Stellar got up early and dragged Jenny to the company as well.

"It's not a simple job. Dad said I had a very important position here. It seems that someone has never been to work before!" Sophia deliberately emphasized the word 'important' when she spoke.

As expected, Jenny's face turned pale upon hearing what she said. Her expression was worse than walking on a dog poo early in the morning.

"Didn't your father say he would hold a board meeting first to discuss the implications of your sudden arrival? Sophia, don't be so impatient! Alas! Young people are not that calm after all," Stellar said the last sentence with emphasis on her tone. Deep inside, she wanted Caspar who was walking in the front to hear it.

Sophia just bit her lips and did not say anything more. She was too naive to fight with Stellar. From now on, she would play it by ear.

"Good morning! You have been working so hard lately!" After the board members arrived at the conference room, Caspar sat on the main seat and greeted everyone.

"According to the company's operation situation, today was supposed to be the day YS Group would purchase the JH Group. However, I have something very important to tell you. It won't happen! The JH Group will operate as usual!" When Caspar spoke, the excitement on his voice was obvious.

"Great! That's awesome!"

"Yes, I heard that the YS Group is very strict with the rules. If we were purchased, we would have been-"

"Enough! Everyone, listen to me. I have another important thing to announce." Caspar interrupted everyone else's discussion.

"Due to the changes in the company, a large number of employees have left. Because of this, I recommend my daughter, Sophia, to be the vice CEO of the company." Caspar let Sophia stand up and introduced his daughter to everyone.

It was not until then that the executives of the company realized that Caspar was pertaining to his so-called illegitimate daughter!

These executives' expressions had nothing to do with Casper's words. Some stayed silent, while others discussed secretly.

Stellar looked calm. On the outside, there was nothing unusual about her. On the other hand, Jenny's mood was rather obvious. She had kept glancing at Sophia from time to time, as if she wanted to swallow her rival alive.

"Boss, where did your daughter graduate from? Has she ever assumed such an important position?"

These words aroused a heated discussion among the people inside the conference room.
