Chapter 4 NO.4

Anger came first. "Are you out of your mind?" I screamed

"Natasha you will learn your place and not speak to me that way. It is for the company and you will do your part as a Whyte for the company." He replied.

Sadness was next. Tears clouded my eyes. "Why will you do something like that? I know you don't care but this is the height of it. Selling me off to some creep just to help the company since I refused to go into business and don't want to work there?"

"It is more than for the company. I am trying to make sure you will have a secure future. I have cancer and since I don't have much time left, I am trying my best to make sure you won't lack anything when I am gone"

"You have cancer? I hope you die faster than you expect. That's how much I hate you. You think telling me you have cancer will make me forget my miserable years here? Or make me see reason in what you are doing? You were expecting pity from me weren't you? Ha! I laugh!"

I wiped the tears off my face and went through the contract again and I saw something worse and my anger returned in twofold.

"You expect me to have a child, a son with him? What do you take me for? Some kind of breeding animal created by you? I am just 20 years old. I don't need this kind of baggage at this point in my life when i haven't even lived and enjoyed it. You are the worst father to walk the face of this earth. When we were kids, Nate and I needed you but you were not there. Attending your stupid business meetings you forgot you had kids. When he died, it was all the same. Now you are marrying me off to some dude to have babies for your precious company? Thanks dad. The love you shower on me is overwhelming. I am choking on your love it's too much." I said with sarcasm dripping off my voice.

So that's why my mum was crying. Because he said he was dying. Ha! He could die that night for all I care.

"I might as well say it now. I am not doing this shit. If you want to disown me, better do it now because I will not go through with this."

I left his office and slammed the door so hard I was sure I heard the hinges creak.
