I stared intently at the screen in front of me. Being married for the last eight years I hadn't even glimpsed at a dating website before but for Ti I'd do anything. We'd been friends our whole lives, our mothers before that too. Technically, we are sisters - my parents adopted her after her mum died in a car crash when we were five. She never knew her father and my parents were her godparents so it made sense. Who am I kidding though? Married life is boooooring! I'm desperate for some drama, some excitement and this, well this is exactly the kind of excitement I need! I grabbed my glasses out of the purple case beside me.
"OK so username TiaRose98. Age - 26. Job - Junior Editor at Masemann Books. Hometown - Fellsdello. Favourite colour -violet." I recited. Have I mentioned we've known each other forever?
"Impressive" smiled Tiana. "What's next?"
We scrolled through the list of questions - hair colour, eye colour, favourite food, best qualities, worst qualities pretty much everything there was to know about Tia - until we got to the most important question... I sat back, pushed my glasses up my nose and folded my arms in my lap then in my best therapist voice said "So Tiana Rose what exactly are you looking for in a man?"
"Well, I guess most importantly I want a man that loves me for me. That sees my quirks and finds them endearing, who sees my downsides and loves me inspite of them. Someone honest, trustworthy, loyal, reliable. Someone I can bare my soul to and know they truly hear me. Being attractive would help too though" she paused to laugh then added "tall, handsome, well built, dark hair and deep dark eyes like pools of melted chocolate......"
"Girl you ain't looking for a man you're looking for a chocolate lab" laughed Cleo and we all burst into fits of giggles. "That man definetly does not exist. But a girl can dream I guess... "
I finished off filling in all the boxes and uploaded Cleo's candid shot along with a few others off my phone. Damn my girl is naturally beautiful even when suprised in the moment she still looks amazing but also just so real. It's perfect.
"Last chance to back out...." I said slowly giving her every opportunity to say no as my finger creeped towards the submit button.
"Oh just do it already so we can get back to cocktails and pampering" she said feigning annoyance, but I could see the smile trying to hide at the corners of her mouth. I double-clicked the button.
"Done. Who wants pizza? Im soooo hungry after that!" I squeezed Tia's shoulder as she pulled me into a hug.
"Me too! Plus, it's pamper time and I need some of those collagen eye patches. I'm so tired after all those manuscripts today" Tia replied.
"Let's get pampering!" Cleo squealed excitedly reaching for the face masks.
