Chapter 5 : She Is Gone

Dominic's POV

"Where is my mate?" I asked him fiercely, looking deep into his eyes as I stared him down. I could see the fear in his eyes as I called her my mate. My boys were also looking at me with surprise they had no idea that she is my mate.

When I told them to find her, they thought I wanted to keep her locked up with her parents, they had no idea that she is my one true mate. I could feel their eyes on me as they all gawked at me, but that was not my major concern right now.

With every minute I stand out here, I am losing my connection to my mate, I know we have not established a connection yet, but I had felt a calming peace when I perceived her amazing scent. It had pulled me to her, and I loved the feeling of having her close by.

But I don't feel it anymore, it feels like the distance between the two of us is increasing by the minute. It felt like all the warmth I felt earlier had only been my imagination, like she never even existed. It's making me go crazy, I want to feel that warmth again, that peace that her presence brings me, it's so amazing. Even if I don't want her again, I still want to keep her close by, I still want to feel her warmth and affection, and the only thing standing in my way is this dickhead that is staring at me with precise hate and jealousy.

"Where is she, Carl?" I asked on edge as my wolf threatens to lurch at him and rip off his head. I was hanging on a thin thread right here and the idiotic smirk on his face is pissing me off even more.

His eyes are pinned on me, and he isn't even trying to hide his hatred and disgust as he stares at me with a Smirk. I could tell that he is finding it funny that I called her my mate. If it weren't for the fact that he is the only one that can lead me to her, I would have punched that stupid smirk right off his face.

He is silently gazing at me, stalling. The silence is sickening and he knows I have riled up already, but he is still pushing me down the edge, testing my patience. The tension becomes thicker as my warrior's whispers among themselves, wondering why I am being patient and lenient with him. And the truth is, I don't even know why I am being patient with this guy, I could kill him where he stands for having feelings for my mate.

For crying out loud, I don't even know how long this guy has been dating her, he could have slept with her over and over again and here I am showing him leniency. I picked him up by the collar of his shirt, holding him up against the tree as I looked up at him, staring deep into his eyes. I have this burning hatred for this dude and his stubbornness is only infuriating me even more.

"Do you know how easily I could snap your neck right now?

Do you really think that you could hide my mate from me?" I asked him sarcastically as I grinned evilly and threw him a few feet away from where I stood, using more force than is necessary. He landed with a loud thud a few feet away, groaning in pain when his body hit the floor. I smiled in satisfaction as I watched him struggle to stand back up.

"When you say, mate..." he spat out with disgust, looking unfazed as he looked up at me in anger, "Do you mean given by the moon goddess or chosen by your proud, disgusting self?" he asked in disgust, looking around for the first time since we took him from his house. I think he is weighing his chances of escape, he knows he cannot escape me so he wants to make a run for it. My wolf growled threateningly at him, causing him to look up at me with that same stupid smirk.

"Is this guy an idiot or what? Does he want to die at my hands tonight?" I thought within me as I weighed his reactions. I grit my teeth in anger, clenching my jaw tight as the dumb smirk remains plastered on his face. I want to smack it off with a punch while kicking him so hard until he goes unconscious. He doesn't change his disposition, even with all the anger and fury on my face.

His eyes keep diverting to different corners and I knew that he had a plan. It seems like he is planning to escape and now that I think about it, I think that has been his plan all along. He must have hidden her someplace safe and now he wants to run off and meet up with her so they can both escape.

The nerves of this idiot!

So he thinks he can run off with my mate!

I guess it's time to show him why I am the most feared Alpha. I mind linked my men, telling them not to interfere in our battle.

"I want him to think that he is winning so stand down and let him escape. Once he escapes, Dwayne follows him closely and find out where he is headed." I instructed them. They have been watching from a safe distance all along, I guess they are scared of my mood swings, I could turn around and transfer my anger to anyone that makes a wrong move without my permission. It's better to stay far away from me and my opponent whenever I am this furious.

I narrowed my eyes at Carl, mentally calculating all the possible ways that he would attack me and all the best ways that I could attack him. I want to let him believe that has an upper hand in the fight, I want him to think that he has a chance of escape and I want him to take that chance. He will win and escape, then I'll subtly follow him and find out where he is going.

"Secure the territory boys, I want the Alpha and his family taken to the usual place and I want everyone in the pack to know that I am now in control, I am their Alpha now and soon, I will be their king. Don't worry about this smut, I can handle him myself." I told them with an evil smile, watching as Carl's face turned red in anger as he glared at me.

"Yes Alpha," they all responded in unison as they ran off in different directions. I know that Carl is holding back from attacking me because he knows my warriors would never let him escape, that is why I sent them away, leaving us alone in the woods at this ungodly hour. Although it is dark everywhere, I can see him clearly with my Wolf's sight and I know that he can see me too. Now that we are alone, I am hoping he would take the bait and attack me, I want him to hasten his escape because I cannot smell her in these woods again, the wind has carried her scent away and it's making me angry and edgy again. I have to find her before I lose it completely, I need him to lead me to her before I lose my senses, this stalling tactics of his is so sickening.

I crouched defensively, preparing to attack him. It seems that he is waiting for me to initiate the attack, so I would gladly grant him that, I just hope he realizes that finding Bethany is the only way he would stay alive. If I don't find her, I would most likely kill him off in anger, she is the only reason he is alive right now, I hope he knows that. Her calm soul is all that is keeping me calm right now. For his sake, I hope I find her because I would hate to take his life because of a woman.

"What the fuck are you even saying?" my beast growled in my head.

"I wouldn't hesitate to kill this motherfucker. He touched my woman, my mate, and when the time is right, I'll rip his fucking head off." He added angrily.

"Whoa... Cool it, man. At least let him lead is to her." I chided him, then I shifted my attention back to the weak wolf who thinks he can run away with my mate. A sick smile crept up his face and he rolled back his shoulder and put both of his fists in front of him, knowing fully well that I am about to attack him. Judging from his stance, I could tell that he is a good fighter, but he could never beat me in a fair fight because when I fight, I fight dirty and I aim to win, besides, I've had year's of hard training, year's of endless wars and battles and now my skills are well horned and perfect. I curled my palm and gestured for him to come at me before clenching my fists painfully tight, watching his every move.

When he didn't make any move, I launched myself at him, with Scott, my wolf urging me on as he howled in joy, wishing nothing more than to tear Carl apart. I feigned to punch his face and he fell for the bait just like I'd expected. He moved sideways to avoid my punch, lifting his hands up to block it off in case he wasn't too fast to avoid it. I saw an opening and I jabbed at his ribs, causing him to yell in pain as the force of my punch sent him reeling backwards.

I was on him before he could recover and I punched and I jabbed him severally in his midsection, kicking him hard on the face with my kickboxing skills. The idea was to make him weak so he doesn't have enough strength to outrun my men. I don't know too much about him, he could be the best runner in this pack and he would certainly outrun my men and escape successfully, so I have to make sure he doesn't have that luxury. After several attacks from my side, I could tell that he is getting weaker by the minute, so I held back and gave him a chance to attack.

"How could she have fallen in love with a weakling like you!

You disgust me, Carl. You would never be able to satisfy my mate, you are nothing but a weak moron. When I find her, I'll make you watch as I screw her over and over again, making her scream my name as she reaches her peak," I taunted him and it had the desired effect.

"Nooooo..." he screamed furiously as he lurched himself at me, throwing all his weight at me as he toppled me to the ground. I could have easily evaded his attack if I wanted to, I mean, he has the skills but he is still an amateur and he could never stand my attack, even if he had ten hands and legs.

He threw several punches at me, hitting me as hard as he could and I kept faking the pain as I took all his punches. The truth is, this dude never stood a chance against me, he hits like a girl and I really want to pull him by the ear and drag him to the gym teach him how to fight like a man, how to be a great warrior. I hate being around men that can't defend themselves, let alone defending their families. Men like Carl can never be leaders, they are the very reasons why the Lycans think that they can Lord it over all werewolves, but all that is going to change when I become king.

I watched Carl with hooded eyes as he smirked in victory. I groaned at his stupidity but I didn't let myself get too carried away because I haven't gotten what I wanted yet, he still needs to lead me to her, so I laid there pretending to be weak and hurt as he smirked triumphantly.

"How the mighty have fallen, Alpha Dominic. I knew you were nothing without your warriors, I knew I could defeat you." He taunted me, laughing hysterically like a fucking idiot. This guy is so dumb. He is standing above me with his legs spread apart. I could simply kick hard on his legs and he would come down immediately. But I had to play it cool so I crawled away from him, making it look like I was trying to run the other way, he kicked me severally on my stomach, stopping me in my tracks.
