Mira slammed the apartment door behind her in frustration, groceries falling from her hands, she bought them with the last of Josh's savings. "Seriously, Josh? Are you really asking me that?" Anger filled her. Her father had warned her about moving in with Josh, saying it was a decision she will regret. Blinded by love back then, she didn't obey him. Now, pride kept her from going back, even at her worst.

"I'm sorry, Mira, but what other options are available?" Josh looked away in shame, the thought of selling his car to cover next week's rent filled his head. "Did Mr. Robert get back to you?"

Mira rolled her eyes, packing her blonde hair into a messy bun. "Not yet. I'm still waiting for his call. He spoke of a temp position, with no other option I accepted. But what I really want is something permanent, baby." Hope filled her voice. That's all she could hold unto.

Mr Robert is her best friend's Dad, recommending her was the only help she could offer, so she said. Mira was grateful anyways.

Tears welled up, spilling down her cheeks, She was ready to do whatever it took to save them from this cage of an apartment.

Josh wrapped her into his arms, comforting her . "Everything will be fine baby, I promise."

Mira held onto him, like an anchor. "Josh, I don't want empty promises, I can't keep up with this anymore."

"Shhh... don't say that, I do understand, baby." He wrapped her tighter, backing her against the kitchen counter. His hands slowly rubbed her back, as he kissed on her forehead. She was the only thing that mattered to him right now, and he was doing all he could to see her live comfortably.
