Chapter 1 ONE BILLION DOLLARS

Enjoy your day. Enjoy reading.

A young man came out of a taxi. He was holding a beautiful multicolor shopping bag and a romantic flower. A deep and genuine smile covered his face. He was a towering man, had long curly hair, and pointed noses. He was so cute and handsome at the same time. He was every woman's dream.

He put on a brown t-shirt and white trousers. His dressing was of the standard of an average man. He was a teacher at a small elementary school and a part-term worker at a company. He was a cool and calm man by personality. He was so generous and humble. The name of the charming, handsome, and cute man was ZAREEF.

"My one and only!" he spoke in a romantic tone, and with romantic smiles on his face as a young lady came out of a building and down to where he was on the sidewalk.

The young lady was putting on a short gown that reached her knees. She packed her long hair to the back. She, too, was such a beautiful lady. She was tall and normal in stature. She had pure white eyeballs, straightened hair, and a perfect body figure.

She was a girl that grew up in a small neighboring orphanage. She knew that her mother had died at birth, but she knew nothing about her FATHER. There was no one to ask, anyway. The name of the comely lady was BUTHAYNAH.

Where they were was the factory where she worked, and that's where she lived. There are quarters inside the factory for the workers who can't avoid houses or other bills that would require after owning a house. She just secured the job here, just serving, so that's why she lives there for now.

"The two years have finally come to an end. I'm presenting the DIVORCE PAPER to her today, and we are getting married today. I have gotten a new house for us. Today we are going to the registry, and we are getting married----"

"Seriously?" Buthaynah asked in an astonishing tone.

"Yes, my one and only. I have missed you, and I'm glad the two years are over. I can't wait to have you as my wife and not as my girlfriend anymore. I can't wait to start having children with you and start living under the same roof with you. I love you", Zareef looked at her in the eyes and uttered.

"I love you more. This is what I have wanted too" she reciprocated in a low tone.

"Have this", Zareef said and pointed the shopping bag at her. Buthaynah collected it with her two hands. She opened it; saw a beautiful folded gown, high shoes, and an adorable pouch inside it.

"Dress in it and wait for me here, I will be right back" Zareef uttered.

"Alright!" Buthaynah intoned.

"I love you". He kissed her on her forehead. "I'm coming, okay" he added. Buthaynah shook her head with a deep smile on her face.

Zareef stopped a taxi. He said 'I love you' to Buthaynah again, and felt a bit reluctant to get into the taxi. Buthaynah waved her hand at him and told him to go.

Zareef finally got into the taxi, fixed his eyes on the back glass and watched Buthaynah standing rooted on a spot, holding flower and shopping bag in her hands as the car was driving away.

A couple of minutes later, Zareef got down from a cab in the front of a massive, big, and expressive mansion. The environment of that place was blinking, decorated with flowers, and the atmosphere there was so cool and lovely. There were security men at each angle of the street.

With the standard of the house, it belongs to some wealthy family. The location was not where any person could enter. It was a place meant only for wealthy, famous, and powerful people. Any commoner that wanted to enter must have an inviting card from whoever he or she was looking for. Taxi could never enter and that's why Zareef had to switch to a cab.

Zareef had changed his dress. He was putting on a suit and pants trousers. He wore beautiful cover shoes and a tie. The change in his dress wasn't for this place, but for the registry he was going too.

He entered the compound of the mansion. He kept walking and going inside. He was holding a brown envelope in his hand. He was walking gently and calmly.

"Good day, please is Anjum round?" he asked a maid as he walked inside.

"Yes, she's in her room upstairs", the maid responded. ANJUM was the name of the lady he wanted to present a divorce paper to.

This was the lady's family house, and Zareef was known as the lady's husband. It was also under her, he was doing the part-term job.

"I want to see her. Can you help me to call her down" he requested.

"Okay, sir" the maid uttered and left.

Zareef was married to Anjum on a contract, but it was known between the two of them. It was agreed to last for two years. Now, it's two years, and two weeks. The contract marriage was offered by Anjum.

A few seconds later, a young lady showed up on the staircases. An expression showed on her face as she sighted Zareef. She stared at him, as she was climbing the stairs gently. All her attention was fixed on Zareef.

"OH MY, SO, HE IS THIS CUTE!" she soliloquized as she got to where Zareef was and looked at him from head to toe. The young lady was ANJUM.

She had never seen Zareef in a suit before. He didn't usually dress in it anyway. Also, his new hairstyle fit him perfectly. It brought out his cuteness and handsomeness.

"As we agreed, Anjum, the two years are over. I have been expecting you to do what is necessary for the past two weeks now, but you did. So, I thought maybe it's because you're busy, so I assisted you to do it", he said in calmed tone and dropped the brown envelope on the center table.

"And, what's this?" Anjum looked at the envelope, looked at Zareef, and asked in an unfriendly tone.

"It's divorce paper. It's two years as you want it------"

"SAYS WHO?" Anjum interrupted him and asked in a loud tone.

"Says who, I'm asking you?" she spoke with fierce eyes and an aggressive tone.

"What audacity, what involuntary do you have to do this? Between you and me, who should be praying and wishing for this not to happen? I gave you a life you never thought you could have in your life. I gave a POOR RAT like you access to being part of this wealthy and famous family that your generation can never build. And you have the gut to bring this to me."

"But-but---but-it's-it's based on the agreement we have" Zareef was so confused.

"It's like you don't know", Anjum intoned. She folded her arms, showed an expression and walked closer to him.

"Our marriage has never been a contract marriage. I MARRIED YOU BECAUSE I WANT YOU", Anjum spoke in an authoritative tone.

"And, for this", she picked up the divorce paper. "Never in your life, have I repeated never in your life present it to me again. You have no right to present this to me", she was tearing the paper as she was talking.

"I don't understand what's going on, but this can't work. I have my own woman who you know. Also, I feel nothing for you-----"

"Who did hell are you not to feel anything for me?" Anjum spoke in an aggressive tone as she gave Zareef a dirty slap out of heartbroken and hurt.

"How can I, a daughter of Zubair's family, feel something for a pauper man like you, and you have the audacity to say you felt nothing for me? How dare you---------?"

"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?" An old man and a young woman walked to the scene. The old man was old Mr. Zubair. He was Anjum's grandfather. The woman was her mother, and a daughter to old Mr. Zubair.

"It's this fool. He said he wanted a divorce" Anjum looked at Zareef from head to toe with an irritating look.

"What audacity? How can it be this useless son-law that will be asking for divorce?" Anjum's mother spoke in an arrogant tone.

"IF HE Wants A DIVORCE, THEN LET HIM HAVE IT. What else are you waiting for? Also, this will give you a chance to go out there and bring a good son-in-law into this family. The one that can add value to the business of the family and not this useless one", the old man uttered, and looked up at Zareef.

"Young man, where are the divorce papers?" the man asked Zareef.

"She had torn it", Zareef responded. This is what he wanted.

Old Mr. Zubair sat on a couch opposite Zareef. He crossed his legs, and on his phone. He scrolled through it, started dialing a phone and put it in his ear. Anjum, Zareef, and her mother stared at the old man and wondered what he wanted to do.

"Hello barrister, preparing divorce papers for Anjum and my useless son-in-law right now. I want it here in thirty minutes' time-----"

"Mummy! Mummy!! What's grandpa doing? I don't want this!" Anjum whispered in a sad tone to her mother. Tears had filled her eyes. She was so madly in-love with Zareef that she could never let go of him.

"I will be waiting for-----"

"Grandpa! Grandpa!! What's the meaning of this? I didn't send you-----"

"Would you shut up?" The old man yelled at her with fierce eyes.

"Do you want to be like a mother, like a daughter? It's the two of you that brought useless sons-in-law into this family, and it's even like it's you guys that's forcing yourself on them. IS THIS HOW CHEAP YOU AND YOUR MOTHER ARE---?"

"Daddy!" Anjum's mother screamed in an aggressive tone. She frowned her face aggressively.

"Shut up!" The old man yelled at her.

"Group of fools" the man added in an abusive tone.

"Mom! Mom!! Do something? I'm in love with him!" Anjum faced her mother and yelled in a sorrowful tone.

"Come closer, let me tell you something" Anjum's mother whispered, and put her mouth at Anjum's ear.

"Hmm!" Anjum did, took away the sad expression, and franked her face. She walked to where Zareef and grandpa were.

"No problem grandpa, we are having a divorce, but he owns me some money, and he has to pay it back before this can work", she uttered in a proud tone. She walked more closely to Zareef, stared at him in the eyes.

"You want a divorce, right? One billion dollars" Anjum uttered.

"WHAT?" Zareef exclaimed. The money he went to ask her and brought this marriage was two million dollars. He needed it urgently for his Buthaynah's surgery.

"It's when you see it that this marriage will be cut off. Therefore---"She took a break, looked at him from head to toe with an aggressive look.

"Let's see how a pauper man like you will get it" She looked at Zareef in the eyes and spoke abusive tone.
