Beep beep beep!!!

Went the alarm on Min ju's bedside table. She hurried to her feet and ran to the bathroom.

50 minutes later she stood outside the shiny glass building, her heart racing with excitement and nerves. She took a deep breath, adjusted her top and straightened her knee long skirt. She walked into the building while checking her reflection on the window as she passed by it. As she walked into the Lobby of the building, she felt a surge of joy and pride knowing that she was about to join the ranks of Hankang global. One of the biggest companies in South Korea. She was overwhelmed with joy by the fact that she was able to land such a job shortly after quitting her previous job.

With a confident and beautiful smile she headed to the reception desk. She greeted the receptionist, a young woman in her early thirties .

"Hello, am Park Min Ju, the new marketing coordinator"

" I see, you are the new employee of the marketing department right?"

"Yes I am"

" Welcome to Hankang Global Inc. I am Lee Su Jin, the receptionist. Come with me

Min ju followed Su Jin to the elevator as she led her up to the 12th floor of the building. As they got nearer to the 12th floor, Min ju felt a rush of anticipation. 'What will my colleagues be like?, will I fit in well?'. What she was most curious about was what the president was like. She had heard a lot about the young president who was ruthless, cold and strict with business.

Beep!

They had arrived at the 12th floor. As the elevator doors slid open she stepped out of the elevator with Su Jin. She was in the marketing department of Hankang global.

"Hello, you must be Park Min ju, the new marketing coordinator, am Lee Ji hyun your team leader"

"Hello, Mr Lee, nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too"

"Ok then Mr Lee, you can show her around the office"

"Yes ms Su Jin, thank you"

"Come with me"

She followed Mr Lee as he led around and introduced her to the rest of her team members.

"Good morning everyone this is Park Min ju the new marketing coordinator of our team"

"Hello and good morning everyone my name is Park Min ju, I look forward to working with you all"

"Welcome" They all chorused.

"This will be your desk, get yourself settled in " Mr Lee said, pointing to an empty desk space by the window of the room, which had a beautiful view of Seoul. She could see the vehicles in the bustling city Of Seoul.

"Ok sir"

"You will be working under the president. Get ready to meet him when he comes in"

"Ok sir"

As she sat down, a female colleague sitting next to her who looked to be in her late twenties greeted her with a warm smile.

"Hi Ms Park, I am Kim Min Young, but you look younger than me so I am going to be dropping the honorifics ( the formal way of speaking in a work setting or to people older than you in South Korea ). Feel free to ask me if you have any problems adjusting " she said with a smile

"Thank you Ms Kim"

After some time she decided to get a coffee, on her way back she wanted to get a tour of the building. As she wandered along the halls of the office building she became even more fascinated by the unique architectural design of the building. As she strolled around she became less aware of her surroundings and accidentally bumped into someone and poured the hot coffee on him.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry about that" As she looked up she became bewildered by how good looking he was. He was dressed in a well pressed black suit which was now stained and soggy from the hot coffee, his hair impeccably styled now disheveled, His eyes narrowed as he stared at her with a cold demeanor, showing surprise and annoyance. She suddenly became at a loss for words.

"Are you blind?, can't you watch where you are going?, how dare you pour hot coffee on me ?, do you know what you just did?," He shouted in anger

"Am sorry I didn't see you, I didn't mean to" she replied

"Do you think saying sorry is going to cut out what you just done"

"Am really sorry, let me get you some napkins" She rushed to get some napkins and by the time she came back he was no longer there. She became confused and overwhelmed with guilt, but she went back to her office looking dejected.

As she sat at her desk sipping the coffee, everyone suddenly stood when someone entered. Wait! He looks familiar

Mr Lee introduced him as the president and she felt her heart sink. The president was the guy she had poured coffee all over his suit just now. The young president of Hankang global who she had heard so much about and was the heir of Hankang global corporation.

"Good morning Mr vice chairman, this is Park Min ju, the new marketing coordinator for our team, Ms Min ju this is the president Mr Jung soo hyun "

Min ju felt a rush of fear rush down her spine as Soo hyun's cold gaze swept over her.

"So you work directly under me?," Soo hyun asked as he was overwhelmed with disbelief

"Yes sir" Min ju replied while shaking.

"I see, come to my office" So hyun was still in disbelief

"Sir?" Min ju asked, disappointed at her luck on her first day. She believed she was going to get fired on her first day for her clumsy mistake.

"Yes sir" she said

"And be quick"

After Soo hyun left, Min young saw that min ju was visibly shaken, and asked what the problem was

"What is it, why are you shaking so much, do you know the president?"

"No, I don't know him. But what is the president like, Is he really strict"

"Of course he is! He doesn't condone mistakes. You should head over to his office now he called you"

"Ok" Min ju replied heartbroken.

Standing in front of Soo hyun's office she could feel her heart pounding so much she thought it would burst, her palms grew sweaty as she thought about facing the president again after what happened.

Knock knock knock!!!

Min ju felt a rush of anticipation and fear as she knocked on Soo hyun's office door

"Come in" Soo hyun answered

Min ju walked into the office with her head down, her hands by her side as she hoped and prayed silently for mercy.

"You called for me sir" She said as she shut the door behind her

Soo hyun stared at her for a while with a blank expression on his face.

"These are documents detailing everything about the new design for Hankang interior one of the subsidiaries of Hankang global" Soo hyun said pointing to a stack of documents on his desk

"You are to create a marketing campaign to promote it. Your performance on this task determines whether or not I will overlook your carelessness earlier"

Min ju felt relieved, she couldn't believe her ears

"Ok sir, Thank you very much. I will try my best to promote it to the best of my abilities" Min ju said bowing to him

"You may go now" Soo hyun replied while nodding his head.

Min ju walked out of the office with a big smile on her face. She went back to desk to start preparing to do a good job on the task she was given.

"What happened?, hope you are not in trouble, Mr Soo hyun seemed angry earlier" Ms Kim asked looking worried

"Oh no, I was just given a task by the president. There is no problem"

"Wait, the vice chairman gave you a task himself?" Ms Kim asked obviously shocked

"Yes, is there a problem?"

"Not really, just that he usually passes information through Mr lee"

"Oh" of course Min ju knew why he had called her to give her the task personally

"I should get to work now"

Towards the end of the work day, in his office Soo hyun's phone rang. He ignored the call after seeing the caller ID. It was Kim so mi his prospective partner. She is the daughter of the chief prosecutor of South Korea. Soo hyun and Soo mi's families had known each other for a while. So mi's family had arranged the marriage between them because their daughter had fallen in love with Soo hyun. His family didn't see anything wrong as they have history with the Kim family. The Union will benefit both families so they went along with it.

"Darn it, why won't this woman let me be, this ringing isn't letting me work" He said before picking up the call.

"What is it?". He asked, extremely annoyed

"What do you mean what is it, we were supposed to meet up today, did you really forget" So mi asked also getting annoyed

" I didn't forget, I just don't want to meet up with you, I am very busy. Please don't call me again you are not letting me work"

"What are you saying, am already at the department store, do you expect me to just leave"

"I never said I was going to meet you anyway, I remember telling you I would be busy today and won't have time to meet you"

"Your dad said you should forget about work for today and meet up with me, it's my birthday this weekend and we were supposed to go pick up my dress"

"Since when did I listen to my dad, I am a busy guy and I have things to do, I don't have the time to pick up dresses for a party. Am hanging up" Soo hyun said as he hanged up.

At the Hankang department store, So mi was bubbling with anger.

"How dare he hang up on me?How am I supposed to just go back?Darn that rude jerk," She said as she called Mrs So jeong seong's number, Soo hyun's mum.

"Hello, mother it's me So mi, Soo hyun refused to come over to the department store, he says he is busy" So mi said crying

"What?, so he said he can't come"

"Yes mother, he said he doesn't have time to go shopping for a birthday party.

"Okay, don't worry I will call and ask why he isn't coming. Stop crying, don't worry.

"Okay, thank you mother" So mi said as she hung up and cleaned her tears. "I won't lose to that rude jerk" she thought to herself

Back at the company, Min ju's colleagues decided to hold a team dinner to celebrate her joining the company.

"Ms Park Min ju, we are going to be holding a team dinner to celebrate you joining the company, you are coming right?. Mr Lee said.

"Oh no team leader you guys don't have to am ok"

"Oh come on Min ju, it's a party to welcome you, just think of it as an orientation ceremony, you have to attend, don't make it so obvious that you are a workaholic on your first day of work " Ms Min young joked.

"Yeah, Ms Park Min ju, you should join us it's your first day after all" Mr lee added

"Ok then, if you insist, I will be joining you for dinner" Min ju said smiling.

"I will also join you for the dinner"
