Revenge On My Parents' Killer

Author: : Bev Garnett
Genre: Modern
Would you believe me if I told you that my uncle actually killed my parents? Yeah, I was just as shocked as you when I found out the truth. My uncle, Cordell, was the one who raised me after my parents' untimely death in a drowning incident fifteen years ago. I was just five years old at the time. Since I had nowhere to go, Cordell took me in. I thought he was my savior. But little did I know that he actually took me in just to cover up his crimes. Cordell killed my parents to take over the family estate! My childhood was far from perfect. Cordell was such a cold-blooded man. He never cared about anyone else but himself. When I finally came of age, I made boss moves by using my talent. My success began after I set up a biotech company at the age of twenty. In no time, I soon became a force to reckon with. Cordell wasn't happy about this. To sabotage me, he accused me of rape and then took over my company. My reputation was ruined in the blink of an eye. Beaten and battered, I fled out of the country in search of greener pastures. Five years passed by quickly. Those were the most eventful years of my life. I, Randolph Truman, passed through a lake of fire and came out like refined gold. I finally returned home as the leader of the most formidable armed organization. My net worth ran into trillions! A hundred thousand soldiers were at my command. I was on top of the world. People would surely respect me even if they didn't want to. Unfortunately for Cordell, he hadn't gotten the memo. He mocked me when our paths crossed again. He called me a rapist and also encouraged others to ridicule me. But the moment I unveiled my new identity to them, they all bowed before me, wept, and begged for my forgiveness. I felt like a king! Should I pay Cordell back in his own coin? Wanna know what I did to him?

Chapter 1 He Is Back

In the midst of the sea's equatorial expanses, there lay a mysterious realm known as the Dark Prison Island.

Throughout the year, not a single vessel traversed the surrounding waters, leaving the island marooned and secluded from the vast reaches of the outside world.

Within the confines of this desolate place, the inhabitants held captive were a dichotomy of frightful murderers and towering figures capable of wreaking havoc upon the global financial landscape.

Be it in matters of identity, stature, influence, or affluence, each individual present on this secluded island stood at the zenith of the world's hierarchy.

In this particular instance, the assemblage of individuals stood in unison, demonstrating reverence as they bowed their heads in humble submission.

Before them, presiding over the gathering, stood the proprietor of Dark Prison Island, none other than Randolph Truman himself.

With the power to pass judgment over the fates of all those present, Randolph commanded a potent blend of fear and reverence from the assembled multitude, who stood in a state of both trepidation and awe in his presence.

Half a decade prior, Randolph had managed to elude captivity and escape from Lorness.

He arrived here with his teacher, the previous proprietor of Dark Prison Island.

Commencing his journey as a mere prison guard on the lowest rung, Randolph gradually ascended through the ranks, painstakingly advancing to his current esteemed position.

Gazing upon the gathered multitude, a solemn countenance adorned Randolph's visage as he cast his eyes downward.

"In my absence, I shall return to my homeland for a while. Henceforth, all matters pertaining to the island shall be entrusted to the five appointed wardens," declared Randolph, his voice resolute and firm.

A wave of astonishment washed over the assembled crowd, leaving them collectively stunned and speechless in the wake of Randolph's announcement.

In that very moment, a resounding and commanding voice reverberated through the air.

"Sir," echoed a voice filled with conviction, resounding with determination, "I am prepared to relinquish my role as a warden and pledge my allegiance to you as a devoted servant!"

As Randolph cast his gaze upon the speaker, he recognized James Nguyen, a steadfast companion who had remained faithfully by his side throughout the passage of time.

Standing at an imposing height of seven feet, James possessed a striking appearance, characterized by his flowing blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

Randolph harbored a deep familiarity with James. Acknowledging James's unwavering loyalty and dedication, Randolph responded with a nod, silently affirming his acceptance of James's offer.

In that very moment, a coquettish woman stepped forward, her voice laced with sweetness.

"Sir," she began in a dulcet tone, "I have managed to save a modest sum of funds privately. It is but a small amount, yet please accept it as a token of farewell from me."

Witnessing the woman's gesture, a wave of realization swept through the crowd below, prompting them to follow suit and replicate her actions.

"Sir!" Another individual stepped forward, presenting a sleek black gold card adorned with the insignia of thirty-two transnational banks. "Please accept this as a token of appreciation."

"Sir, this is the Hovenant Ring. By possessing it, you hold the authority to command all the members of the Hovenant Gang."

"Sir, I have officially transferred the ownership of my Royaltune Group to Mr. James Nguyen! Its headquarters are based in Crystalville, your place of origin."

Randolph collected each gift individually. Subsequently, he departed from Dark Prison Island as everyone bid him farewell.

His thoughts danced chaotically within the recesses of his mind.

In Crystalville, he once adorned the esteemed position of the Truman family's honorable second son.

Amidst the wealth and privilege of the Truman family, he had the opportunity to live a carefree life.

However, following the unforeseen tragedy that claimed the lives of his parents, he found himself thrust into the custody of his eldest uncle.

Growing up, Randolph's maturation revealed an extraordinary reservoir of talent and aptitude.

Upon his graduation, he wasted no time in establishing Worldtures Biotech Corporation, where he delved into groundbreaking research and spearheaded the development of "Antis", a revolutionary gene drug with the remarkable capability to fortify the human physique.

Through the widening web of his connections, Randolph serendipitously stumbled upon disquieting clues that cast a shadow of doubt upon the circumstances surrounding his parents' tragic demise.

Like converging arrows, all the clues unerringly directed Randolph's attention towards the very family of his uncle.

Before he could delve deeper into his investigation, fate dealt a treacherous hand as he found himself unwittingly drugged at a social gathering, subsequently awakening in the confines of his cousin, Doris' chamber.

A damning accusation befell him in the wake of his intoxicated state, as he was accused of committing the grievous act of rape against his own cousin.

The tumultuous events unfolded relentlessly, culminating in his eventual expulsion from the family fold. The Truman family seized control of his once-thriving company, transforming themselves into a pseudo-prominent dynasty that wielded influence within the confines of Crystalville.

However, his name had become synonymous with notoriety within the very fabric of Crystalville.

As he departed from the confines of Crystalville, he found himself relentlessly pursued by various factions of merciless assassins. Fortunately, salvation came in the form of his steadfast girlfriend, Brinley Selleck, who valiantly intervened to rescue him from the clutches of danger.

Compelled by the urgency to establish his own innocence, he embarked on a journey abroad, driven by the need to gather evidence and unravel the truth behind the accusations that had tarnished his reputation.

His return to Crystalville was prompted by the impending anniversary of his parents' tragic demise, which loomed on the horizon, serving as a poignant reminder of the unresolved mysteries that still lingered in his heart.

Fixing his gaze upon the path leading to Crystalville, Randolph's eyes gradually hardened, betraying a growing coldness within him.

"Now is the moment to settle the score with the Truman family!" he declared, his voice brimming with unwavering resolve, as he set his sights on a long-awaited reckoning.

Inside the Truman residence in Crystalville, amidst the opulence, a grand banquet unfolded, filling the residence with an air of celebration and extravagance.

Every member of the Truman family reveled in the festivities, basking in the joyous ambiance of the banquet.

On this very day, the eldest son of the Truman family, Nolan Truman, paid homage to Austin Hewitt and respected the latter as his master. As the leader of the formidable Hovenant Gang, Austin reigned over the most dominant criminal organization in all of Crystalville.

Inebriated and brazen, Austin sprawled upon the central throne-like chair, his intoxication evident to all in attendance at the banquet.

Wearing a sycophantic smile, Cordell Truman, the reigning patriarch of the Truman family, addressed Austin with flattery in his voice, "Mr. Hewitt, today my son pledges his loyalty to you as his master. From this moment onward, we stand united! With our combined forces, no adversary in Crystalville can stand against us!"

Ebullient with anticipation, the remaining members of the Truman family mirrored Cordell's enthusiasm.

Over the course of the past five years, their ascent had been relentless, propelling them to the pinnacle of their influence and dominance.

By joining forces with the Hovenant Gang, they would elevate themselves to a greater level.

"Ha-ha!" In a booming voice, Austin declared, "Cordell, we're insignificant at this point. A prominent figure is visiting Crystalville today, and even the so-called influential individuals in this town are mere nobodies in his sight. Luckily, he has connections with the Hovenant Gang. I plan to utilize your banquet to extend him a warm welcome. It's imperative that you conduct yourself appropriately."

Excitement flickered in Cordell's eyes. "Really?"

Cordell had considered himself fortunate enough to have partnered with Austin. Little did he expect that Austin would be able to secure the presence of such a formidable figure.

If he could truly establish a connection with that influential individual, then his family would truly rise to fame.

The rest of the Truman family eagerly anticipated the arrival of this individual. Some women started touching up their makeup, and a few even lowered their necklines.

"How could that possibly be fake?" Austin sneered smugly.

Tap! Tap!

Just then, the sound of footsteps approached.

As the sound reached their ears, everyone turned their gaze toward the source.

Two individuals were making their way inside. Both of them exuded an imposing aura.

The presence of Randolph and James captured everyone's attention as they made their grand entrance. Although it was just the two of them, it seemed as though they had an army standing behind them.

In an instant, Austin's pupils constricted as he exclaimed, "It's him!"

Luck was on his side as Austin found himself fortunate enough to catch sight of James from a distance once in the past. At that moment, he was acutely aware that he lacked the qualifications necessary to approach James up close.

"So he is the big shot this time?"

Austin's face beamed with joy as he prepared to rise and greet James, only to discover that James stood half a step behind the person beside him, displaying an expression of utmost reverence.

Austin stood there, utterly stunned.

The youthfulness of the man left Austin bewildered. He wondered what kind of identity or status he possessed that commanded such profound respect from James.

Before Austin could make sense of the situation, Nolan, who stood beside him, stepped forward.

He extended a trembling finger towards Randolph's face and unleashed a torrent of furious accusations.

"Randolph, you heartless monster! We took you in with compassion, and yet you had the audacity to rape your own cousin! Did you think time would erase our memories after five years? How dare you show your face here now? You should be utterly ashamed! Leave this place at once!"

Chapter 2 Humiliation

Randolph shook his head disdainfully. "I'm merely here as an invited guest. It has nothing to do with your family," he retorted coldly.

Despite the passage of numerous years, the Trumans remained consumed by resentment and animosity. Not a single one of them displayed any trace of remorse whatsoever!

Nolan burst into laughter, oblivious to Austin's expression of embarrassment.

"You claim to be invited? Don't act so high and mighty. Open your eyes wide and look around. This is the Truman family's banquet today, and you, a despicable rapist, have no place here. Leave here immediately and do not tarnish this place any further."

In that moment, he was on the verge of instructing someone to escort Randolph out forcefully.

Randolph, on the other hand, gazed at Nolan with an air of indifference.

His gaze towards Nolan resembled that of someone observing a rabid dog, mindlessly attacking anyone in its path.

Nolan's presence was almost laughable to him.

As Nolan observed Randolph's immovable stance, a mischievous smile played on his lips.

"I see. You've noticed our family's ascent and now you're after our wealth, is that it?" Nolan said with a hint of sarcasm.

As he spoke, he pulled out a crisp hundred-dollar bill from his pocket and gazed at Randolph with an air of smug satisfaction.

"I suppose money is what you desire. Well, if you're willing to crawl between my legs, I'll gladly hand over this hundred-dollar bill to you."

In a gesture of disdain, Nolan tossed the money towards Randolph, as if casting aside something insignificant.

The crisp hundred-dollar bill floated downward gracefully, landing on the floor with a subtle flutter.

Laughter erupted from the crowd, filling the air with a lively atmosphere. Anticipation hung in the air as everyone eagerly awaited Randolph's next move.

The memory of Randolph being ostracized like a stray dog by the people of Crystalville remained fresh in everyone's minds.

He had been reduced to scavenging his meals from the trash cans, a stark reminder of his dire circumstances. One hundred dollars would be sufficient for him to enjoy a decent meal.

With a cold demeanor, Randolph cast an indifferent glance at the crowd and declared, "I returned for one sole purpose!"

The Trumans stood there in a state of shock, utterly astonished by Randolph's statement.

"Twenty days from now marks the anniversary of my parents' death. On that day, you will reveal to me the truth behind their deaths. You will disclose the real reason my parents perished and return Worldtures Biotech to me. Failure to comply will result in the complete annihilation of the Truman family! Remember, you have a mere twenty days."

Randolph spoke neither swiftly nor slowly, devoid of any overt sense of murderous intent in his words.

Despite the lack of overt aggression in his tone, a palpable chill ran down the spines of everyone present, sending shivers through their bodies.

Every word he uttered carried a seething fury.

Having made his statement, Randolph turned on his heel and departed without paying any heed to the Truman family's reaction.

After a few moments, Nolan snapped out of his stupor, his expression transforming into one of ferocity and determination.

"You despicable bastard! How dare you threaten to destroy our family? You insolent fool! Take him away and break his legs, then, toss him into the river!"

"Stop!" In a low, commanding voice, Cordell interjected. "Do not forget the primary purpose of today's gathering!"

"You're right, father." Nolan nodded fiercely, his teeth clenched tightly together in anger.

However, at that very moment, Austin rose abruptly from his seat and swiftly made his way towards the exit.

In his heart, Austin cursed the shortsightedness of the Trumans, lamenting how they had driven away the prominent figure he had painstakingly managed to invite.

If it weren't for the unfortunate timing, he felt an overwhelming urge to slap both Cordell and Nolan for their impulsive actions.

Just as Austin took a few steps, Cordell intercepted him, a concerned expression on his face, and inquired, "Mr. Hewitt, what's the matter?"

Consumed by anxiety, Austin forcefully pushed Cordell aside, his frustration evident as he snapped, "Move out of my way, you imbecile!"

The memory of Nolan's humiliation of Randolph moments ago flooded Austin's mind.

In that moment, Austin realized that he wanted nothing to do with the Truman family.

Cordell grew increasingly anxious as he observed Austin's behavior.

"Mr. Hewitt, there seems to be a misunderstanding here. Please, don't listen to what that man says. He's just a pathetic loser."

Anger ignited within Austin, causing his eyes to widen with a fiery intensity. He yearned for nothing more than to slice the foolish Cordell into countless pieces.

How dare he utter such disrespectful words about the noble master! If there were any individuals who deserved the title of "pathetic losers", it would be the Trumans.

However, the present moment was not suitable for such an elaborate discussion.

Upon realizing that Randolph hadn't gone too far, Austin promptly exclaimed, "With immediate effect, I sever all ties with the Truman family. Should you dare utter my name again, I will annihilate your entire wretched lineage!"

Austin's eyes bore a chilling and menacing gaze, leaving Cordell gripped with fear.

Austin had no time or concern for the matter at hand and swiftly pursued Randolph.

In fact, he felt an even deeper sense of regret.

Had he known earlier, he would have avoided attending this cursed banquet altogether. Wouldn't it have been better to receive that big shot himself?

The Truman family was utterly insignificant in the presence of that person who could effortlessly exterminate them.

In his heart, he fervently prayed that the influential person hadn't distanced himself too much and would grant him an opportunity to apologize.

The Trumans were left dumbfounded, frozen in place.

They couldn't comprehend why Austin, who had just engaged in a pleasant conversation with them, had suddenly undergone a complete change in attitude.

Cordell snapped back to reality and appeared visibly desperate.

"Oh, damn! The influential figure Mr. Hewitt mentioned could be right outside the door. That individual might have felt disrespected due to Randolph's actions and left in anger. Mr. Hewitt likely received the news and chased after them. To avoid any blame from that influential person, he has to distance himself from us completely."

Everyone else also regained their composure or snapped back to reality.

Several younger individuals were consumed by anger to the point where they clenched their teeth and cursed Randolph vehemently.

"Why couldn't that damn loser have died?"

"Sir, we cannot allow that individual to escape so easily."

"He is jeopardizing our path to success."

"Our family must not let him go so easily."

Cordell's expression turned exceedingly grim. "Damn son of a bitch! You got away last time, but this time I won't give you a chance!"

Chapter 3 News About Brinley

Outside the hall, Austin chased after Randolph.

When he saw that Randolph was about to get in the car and leave, Austin ran as fast as his legs would allow him.

"Sir, please wait!"

All of a sudden, his eyes caught something.

On the index finger of Randolph's left hand, he saw the Hovenant Ring, which was the token of the Hovenant Gang.

As soon as he saw this, Austin's jaw slacked. Whoever possessed this ring must be the leader of the Hovenant Gang.

Austin staggered a few steps back and performed a deep bow in front of Randolph.

"Sir, my name is Austin Hewitt, and I'm the acting leader of the Hovenant Gang. Since you have the Hovenant Ring, that means you must be our leader. I didn't recognize you before. Please forgive me. I will accept any punishment that you deem necessary."

Randolph twiddled with the Hovenant Ring on his finger and said nothing.

When there was no reply, Austin added, "I have drawn a clear line with the Truman family. From now on, I will no longer have any contact with them."

Hearing this, a small smile broke on Randolph's lips, making Austin exhale in relief.

"Sir, the Trumans have been disrespect to you earlier. Do you want me to deal with them?" Austin asked.

"No need," Randolph responded indifferently. "I'll handle it myself. You can go back first, and if there's anything you need to know, I will tell you."

Austin's heart almost leapt out in joy. It was a privilege for him to take orders from the leader of the Hovenant Gang.

"Yes, sir!"

After that, he respectfully saw Randolph off.

In the car, James was reporting some information to Randolph.

The arrival of the owner of Dark Prison Island in Crystalville had naturally caused quite a stir.

Even though Randolph had tried his best to keep a low profile, his presence alone was still enough to stress people out.

They prepared well for this situation just to avoid offending this big shot.

"Sir, Mayor Neal Bates called. He has prepared a welcome banquet for you in Southsure Manor. All the officials, wealthy businessmen, as well as celebrities in Crystalville will also be there. Neal wanted to ask if you are available."

Randolph nodded. "Okay. I will be there."

As he said that, an image of a beautiful girl came to his mind.

"How's the investigation that I've told you to do?" he asked.

After leaving Dark Prison Island, the first order he gave was to investigate the situation of his girlfriend, Brinley, during the last five years.

"Sir, we have already found something," James replied at once.

After saying that, he told Randolph everything he had discovered about Brinley.

"According to the information, Miss Selleck is currently attending a party. The name of the host is Meade Curtis. However, most of the attendees of that party are either escorts or department managers of small companies."

As he spoke, he took out files about Meade and handed them to Randolph.

"Meade has a terrible reputation in Crystalville. He's found in night clubs almost every day. He also happens to be one of Miss Selleck's suitors. As of right now, he has already expressed his love to Miss Selleck in public a total of forty-eight times. However, all of them were refused by Miss Selleck. Today is actually the first time that Miss Selleck had agreed to Meade's invitation to a party."

When Randolph heard this, his face crinkled to a frown.

Brinley was attending a party that was being hosted by her suitor. Did that mean anything?

Had she fallen in love with someone else after those five years?

As these thoughts swirled in his head, a glimmer of guilt and sadness crept in his eyes.

Memories of everything that had happened between him and Brinley flooded his mind.

"Is it because that I've been gone for so many years that you couldn't bear to be alone?"

This type of thought crowded in Randolph's mind.

"Sir, we have received the latest news." James' voice pulled Randolph back to reality.

He turned to him and said, "Go ahead."

James cleared his throat and began speaking. "The intelligence team has found that someone plans to harm Miss Selleck at the party tonight."

Immediately, Randolph's eyes turned cold.

"We're going to that party right now."
