Mr. Rich and His CEO Wife

Author: : Darb Jahan
Genre: Modern
For five years, Farris was despised by the Jackson family. Everyone in the Jackson family thought that they could walk all over him, and his mother-in-law even wanted her daughter to divorce him. His wife was the only one who always appreciated him and stayed by his side. Farris just wanted to hold her hand and give her the whole world. One day, in order to rebuild the welfare house where he had grown up, he swallowed his self-respect and asked the Chen family to lend him some money. But all he got in return for his request was their endless ridicule and abuse. Unexpectedly, his biological father contacted him out of the blue and gave him five hundred billion dollars as his inheritance! In an instant, the luxury hotels and sports cars that countless people dreamed of became his property. It made his mother-in-law beg, "Farris, please don't leave my daughter!" Even the old lady who was the head of the Jackson family knelt in front of him. "Farris, you're the only one who can make the Jackson family prosper. Please help us."

Chapter 1 Inherited Five Hundred Billion Dollars

"Your mother's health is deteriorating. She has to undergo surgery tonight!

The procedure will cost three hundred thousand dollars. The fees must be paid before five o'clock. Otherwise, the patient wouldn't make it through tonight."

The doctor's remarks struck Farris Leopard like a bolt from the blue. His body trembled, and he almost fell to the floor.

He went back inside the ward with a heavy heart.

Looking at his foster mother lying on the hospital bed, Farris' eyes turned bloodshot. Her hair was grey and her face was wrinkled, showing her age. Color had faded from her face, and her breath had become labored. Seeing her calloused hands made Farris feel bad for allowing this to happen to her.

It was this woman who brought Farris up. She fed him, clothed him, and even paid for his college fees. He owed his life to his foster mother.

He straightened up the sloppy blanket for his foster mother and sat there for a long time before leaving the ward.

The moment he walked out of the ward, Farris took out his phone and called his mother-in-law, Charis Walker.

"Mom, my foster mother is in a critical condition. Can you lend me three hundred thousand dollars to..."

Before Farris could finish his words, Charis cut him off. "You're such a loser! Shouldn't you be the one giving me money since you are my son-in-law? I already ignored the fact that you've never brought home even a single penny, now this? You have the nerves to borrow money from me, huh? Well, I'm not as coldhearted as you think I am. I'll lend you the money you need if you agree to have a divorce with Sheila. Otherwise, there's no way I'm going to help you!"

"Mom, you know I can't divorce Sheila." Perhaps it was because of mixed emotions that Farris sounded as if he was on the verge of breaking down.

"Then just watch your foster mother die. Don't ask me for money again!"

After saying that, Charis ended the call. It didn't matter to her whether Farris' foster mother would die or not. All she wanted was for him to divorce Sheila.

Hopeless, Farris could only sigh. He and his wife, Sheila, were classmates in college. They had been together for four years until they decided to get married as soon as they graduated. That was how much they loved each other.

Marrying a woman from the Jackson Family, which held assets hundreds of millions of dollars and had several companies, was not easy for a man from a mediocre family like Farris.

Getting married to Sheila meant living with the Jackson Family. For years, he had been the object of scorn and ridicule from everyone around him. He was not allowed to get a job and was required to stay at home to do household chores. He even had to ask his mother-in-law for money if he needed to buy groceries.

But as long as Sheila was happy, Farris didn't care about what others thought of him. Money and power didn't matter to him at all.

All that mattered to Farris was that Sheila wouldn't leave him. No matter how useless he looked like in the eyes of the Jacksons, as long as he could do his duty as her husband, he wouldn't mind.

However, his foster mother's serious illness brought him back to reality.

Without money and power, there was nothing he could do to save the person he loved most.

In the middle of his self-loathing, a beautiful figure suddenly appeared at the door of the ward.

Out of breath, Sheila made her way to Farris, clutching a bag of money in one hand. She was still wearing her office attire, so he figured that she came here straight from the company.

"Honey, what are you doing here?" Looking at the money in the bag, Farris' brows furrowed in confusion.

"I've heard that your foster mother is in desperate need of medical care. I... I don't have much money. I only have fifty thousand dollars in my bank account. It's the money I've been saving up for myself over the last few years. You can use it for now."

"No, this is your personal savings. I can't!"

Farris shook his head in refusal. He knew how practical Sheila was all her life. She went out by the subway and avoided eating at expensive restaurants to save up.

Although technically speaking, Sheila came from a very wealthy family and didn't have to lead a remarkably frugal existence.

However, the Jackson Family was composed of many people. The current head of the family, Faustina Jackson, had three sons and each of them took charge of family subsidiaries.

Among them was her eldest son Quincy Jackson, who was Sheila's father and Farris' father-in-law.

They were in charge of Sheila Cosmetics, but it had the worst business among all the Jackson Family's subsidiaries. Therefore, Faustina wasn't fond of Quincy's family at all.

Having said that, Shiela didn't have the same privileges as the other members of her family. So Farris didn't have the heart to use her hard-earned money.

"Money can be earned again, but you can't bring the dead back to life. Take this money and ask the doctor to start the surgery. I'll find a way to raise the rest of the money for you and your foster mother."

Tossing the bag into Farris' arms, Sheila said, "Mom is asking me to return home. I have to go now. Go ahead and pay for the medical fees first."

Overcome with grief, Farris held the bag of money tighter and watched Sheila's figure disappear from his sight.

Since he married Sheila, he had never given his wife anything that could make her happy. Now he even had to spend the money she had been saving up for herself. Farris felt he was so useless, but he swore to himself that he would make it up to her in the future.

As he thought of this, he felt his cheeks getting wet. He didn't even notice that he was crying.

While he was immersed in his thoughts, the heartbeat monitor beside the patient's bed gave a rapid alarm. Several doctors and nurses rushed inside and wheeled the patient into the emergency room.

It all happened so suddenly. Farris was consumed by fear as if he was going to lose the most important person in his life. He hurriedly followed them but was stopped outside the emergency room.

A quarter of an hour later, the doctor walked out of the emergency room and told Farris with a sigh, "The patient's condition is getting worse. She's fine for now. But if you can't pay the fees for the surgery before five o'clock, I'm afraid you'll have to prepare for her funeral."

It felt as though Farris had been stabbed in the abdomen after hearing these words. The pain and sadness that surged in his heart made him paralyzed for a moment.

"I can't believe it... The most important person for me almost died, but I can't do anything to help her.

I'm such a loser!"

In an attempt to release the mixed emotions in his heart, Farris punched the wall until blood seeped from his knuckle.

"No, I still have one last option. I can't give up yet. I'll definitely save my foster mother!"

In the end, Farris took out his phone once again and scrolled through his contacts with trembling fingers until he finally found the number that he blocked in the past.

There was a person that he hated to the core, but now he had to brace himself to meet him because he had no other choice left.

It was ironic that the person who killed his biological mother was his only hope now to save his foster mother.

"Hello, Mr. Leopard." A familiar voice came through the phone. It had been a while since he last talked to this man.

Despite his trembling voice, Farris mustered up his courage and said, "It's me. I won't forgive my father, but I'm willing to be the heir of the Leopard Family!"

"That's great, sir. Your father will be very happy to hear this. Where are you now?"

"Municipal People's Hospital."

"Please give me a few minutes. I'll be right there."

The person on the other end of the line was Salter Leopard, the butler of the Leopard Family. He was tingling with excitement by the time he hung up the phone. He had been waiting for a year to get a reply from Farris, and now the long wait was over. Therefore, he didn't waste any time and rushed to the hospital.

Half an hour later, a Rolls-Royce pulled over in front of the hospital.

A man in a black suit got out of the car. His hair was turning gray, but he didn't look too old. Salter, the butler of the Leopard Family had a strong and exceptional character.

Everyone he walked past couldn't take their eyes off him. Soon, he found Farris inside the hospital.

"Nice to see you again, sir!" Salter bowed respectfully.

Since Farris was not accustomed to the rules of etiquette, he felt uncomfortable. So he pulled Salter aside and told him, "We should keep a low-profile."

"Noted, sir. Have you really decided to be the heir of Leopard Family?"

"Yes." Although Farris said so, there was a hint of helplessness in his tone as if being the heir of the Leopard family was a bad thing.

"Your father will be very happy to hear this. He has transferred a small amount of money to your account as a small gift for you."

"A gift?"

Confused, Farris took out his phone and checked his account balance. To say that he was shocked when he saw one hundred million and three hundred dollars in his bank account was an understatement.

It was not a secret that the Leopard Family was the richest and the most famous family in the city, but Farris didn't expect that his father would casually give him one hundred million dollars as a gift!

"Also, this is a limited edition black card. There are only five hundred of these in the whole world. You can withdraw fifty billion dollars from the bank at most with this. Your father has given the Sky Corp. in Asopool to you as well. From now on, you are the new CEO of the company."

After saying this, Salter handed him a black card with a dragon pattern and a share transfer agreement.

What Salter said made Farris gasp in astonishment. As far as he knew, the Sky Corp. was worth hundreds of billions of dollars. It was the largest leading company in Asopool, engaged in all kinds of industries. He didn't expect that it was owned by the Leopard Family.

Once everything was settled, Salter left Farris alone.

As soon as Farris recovered from shock, he went to the cashier to pay for the medical fees. He was relieved that he was finally able to give his foster mother proper medical care without needing to ask anyone for help.

Now that he had more than enough money, the hospital immediately arranged the best doctors and medical equipment for his foster mother's surgery. Afterwards, she was transferred to the executive ward. There were even two nurses assigned to take care of her.

Seeing that the problem had been solved, Farris breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at the bag of money that Sheila gave him and smiled at the thought that he didn't need to use it anymore.

From now on, Farris swore that he would give Sheila everything that she deserved. He would not let her suffer anymore.

When Farris was about to go home to return Sheila's money, he received a call from his mother-in-law. He stopped and quickly answered the call.

"Hello, mom. What's up?"

"Farris, Sheila has agreed to file a divorce. Come home and sign the agreement right away!"

Chapter 2 Divorce Agreement

Charis' words felt like a bolt of lightning that struck him. Farris became tensed again just moments after he finally started to relax after a long day.

His relationship with Sheila had always been stable. He couldn't understand why she suddenly wanted a divorce.

In fact, he could not even believe his ears.

He thought for a moment, and took a taxi home. As soon as he entered his house, he saw three people sitting in the living room. There was Sheila, Charis, and a strange middle-aged man.

The man was wearing an expensive watch, and he was dressed in designer labels. His attire alone was probably worth more than a hundred thousand dollars.

As soon as Charis saw Farris, her eyes lit up. "Loser, you're finally here! Come and sign the divorce agreement!"

Ignoring his mother-in-law's hurtful words, Farris looked at the strange man and asked, "Who is he?"

"Let me introduce you to Mr. Luka Davis, the manager of the purchasing department at Sky Corp.. His annual salary is one million dollars. And once you sign the divorce agreement, Sheila can be with him!"

Putting the divorce agreement in front of Farris, Chairs urged him to sign it.

Farris examined the document, only to find that Sheila had already signed it. He looked at her in disbelief as a hint of sadness rose within his heart.

Had he been misreading her intentions? Was their seemingly stable relationship actually vulnerable?

Luka noticed Farris' plain clothes and sneered, "I was curious about what kind of a man Sheila's husband was, but now, I can see that you're nothing but a mere gigolo. A loser like you doesn't deserve her!"

Farris' expression turned cold as he shouted, "Fuck off! It's none of your business. Besides, you are not welcomed here."

"You..."

Luka was a respected manager from an established company, and no one had ever spoken to him so rudely.

He laughed maniacally and hissed, "Sheila Cosmetics is on the verge of bankruptcy. I can promote a cooperation project of five million dollars to save it. And what can you do? You're nothing but a loser who has been a burden to this family!"

Farris' eyes emitted a sudden coldness. Luka's words reminded him of the ridicules and insults that the Jackson Family had humiliated him with.

"Fuck off!"

Farris kicked him, and Luka fell to the ground.

He was the owner of Sky Corp. now.

How dare a mere manager in the company talk to him so arrogantly?

Ignoring the others, Farris approached Sheila and pulled her into their bedroom.

His expression softened a bit once they were alone. With sadness in his eyes he asked softly, "Sheila, what on earth is this divorce agreement for? Do you really want to divorce me?"

Sheila felt sorry for him and explained, "I was actually trying to help you."

"Help me? How?"

"Mom told me that she would lend you the money as long as I divorced you. In order to help you gather the money, I had to agree. I was planning on pretending to divorce you and explain things to her after she gave me the money. After all, saving your foster mother is the priority now. Mom arranged a blind date for me without my acknowledgement, so I had no idea that Luka was going to come here."

"Now I see!" Farris realized that he had misunderstood Sheila. His wife was even willing to betray her own mother for his sake, which moved him.

Hearing that, she said apologetically, "Farris, I'm sorry. The reason I did not tell you about this until now is because it was an urgent matter."

"It's alright. This is my fault, anyway. I shouldn't have doubted you. But we don't have to worry about money anymore. My mother once helped a man who was in trouble, and now, he is successful and grateful for her, so he paid off her medical bills to return the favor."

Farris had to make up a reasonable excuse.

"Really? That's great news!" Sheila cheered and hugged him.

They held each other, feeling the warmth of their embrace.

A few moments later, Farris escorted her out of the bedroom.

Their intimacy made Luka feel jealous. Besides, since Farris had kicked him, he was irritated.

He cast a cold glance at Charis and said, "I want Farris to kneel down and apologize to me, or else, Sheila Cosmetics will end up bankrupt!"

Charis panicked, pointed at Farris, and roared, "Farris, sign the divorce agreement right now. Kneel down to apologize to Mr. Davis. Or you won't get three hundred thousand dollars to pay the medical fees for your adoptive mother!"

Ignoring them, Farris took the divorce papers from the table and took out his lighter.

He then took a deep breath as though he was trying to exhale the humiliation that he had just been through. He was also trying to forget the grievances that he had suffered in the Jackson Family.

He clicked the lighter...

And the flame came alive...

The divorce agreement was burnt to ashes in just a moment.

Farris felt as though some of his wounds had also disappeared along with the divorce agreement, which made him feel relieved.

He would not continue to take their insults anymore!

Charis and Luka were stunned when they saw what he did.

However, Farris was smiling, like he did not care about what they thought.

Sheila was also surprised. Ever since they had gotten married, she had never seen him give such an attractive smile.

Farris' temperament had changed a lot. He used to look anxious, confused, and depressed all the time. But now, he looked like a calm man who would control everything in his life and solve every problem with a smile.

He glanced at them and said, "I forgot to tell you that I have already solved the problem of my foster mother's surgery fees. So the divorce agreement is no longer needed!"

The flames had turned the divorce agreement to ashes in no time at all.

"You want me to kneel down and apologize to you? Well, that's ridiculous!"

Farris then blew the ashes on Luka's face.

Caught off guard, Luka's face was now covered in soot.

"You bastard, I'm going to kill you!"

Feeling exasperated, he rolled up his sleeves and was about to attack Farris.

But the moment he took a step forward, Farris slapped him.

A bright red palm print appeared on Luka's right cheek. One of his front teeth fell to the ground, making him look embarrassing.

"You... You are courting death!" Luka mumbled with his broken teeth as he rushed towards Farris once again with red eyes.

"Shut the fuck up!" Farris slapped him again.

Another palm print appeared on Luka's left cheek.

With tears in his eyes, he fell to the ground.

He was a womanizer who had been addicted to sex, alcohol and cigarettes, so he was in poor health. Besides, he was much older than Farris, so there was no way for him to match up to Farris in terms of strength.

"I'm sorry. Looks like I have an OCD. When I slapped your right cheek, I also had the urge to slap your left cheek just to make them look symmetrical!" Farris said with a smile.

"You... You've gone too far!" Covering his face, Luka ran away, crying.

"Mr. Davis, it's just a misunderstanding. Let me explain!" Feeling anxious, Charis tried to fix this.

"What is there to explain? This is not over!"

Luka threatened, sobbing. After that, he left and did not look back.

When Charis heard that, she became scared, and cursed, "Farris, it's all your fault! Why did you offend Mr. Davis? Well, without his help and the cooperation project with the Sky Corp., our company would go bankrupt, and the Jackson Family would end up on the streets!"

"So what if I offended him? And about the cooperation project, I will get it. I am not going to let Sheila's hard work get wasted so easily!"

With that, Farris tidied up his clothes. He actually did not take Luka's threats seriously at all.

"You're just bluffing! You know what? I would really like to see how you get the project. If you can't get it, then you must sign the divorce agreement at once!"

Charis said angrily.

With a confident smile, Farris said, "Don't worry, I will not let myself fail, so it won't come to that."

"You..."

With one hand over her chest, Charis started gasping for air. She was so furious that she was at a loss for words, because previously, whenever she scolded Farris, he had never dared to retort.

But now, he seemed like a completely different person. Not only was he talking back to her, he had also fought with Luka. Thinking of that, she wondered what came over him.

Sheila didn't want to see her husband and her mother quarreling anymore. She patted on Charis' back and comforted her, "Mom, Farris might not be very capable, but he is a good man who treats me well. Please don't ask us to divorce ever again."

"Sheila, you are also on his side now? Farris has offended Mr. Davis today, and he has to find a way to solve the problem. You know what's going on in the company, don't you? How long do you think we can hold on without the help of the Sky Corp.?"

Charis walked into her room with a livid expression and slammed the door shut behind her.

Farris gave a playful smile. He was the CEO of Sky Corp. now. It was up to him to decide whether the company should cooperate with Sheila Cosmetics or not. Luka had no say in the matter!

But when he turned around, he met Sheila's worried gaze as she frowned at him.

Since he knew that she was concerned about the cooperation, he felt sorry for her and held her in his arms, comforting her. He then promised her that he would solve the problem.

Sheila gave him a doubtful nod. His words were not enough to dispel the worries in her heart.

Later that evening, Farris prepared an array of delicious dishes. He was going to have a beautiful dinner with Sheila once she got out of the shower.

All of a sudden, he noticed her phone lighting up on the table.

He glanced at the message and found that it was from Luka. He had a feeling that Luka had bad intentions, so he picked up her mobile phone and checked the message.

After reading the contents of the message, his face was livid with rage.

"Sheila, I'll give you another chance. If you still want to cooperate with the Sky Corp., then come to Room 666 of the Riverside Hotel tonight and we'll discuss things in detail."

Though it was a short message, it was enough to make Farris' heart explode with fury.

He was no longer the useless son-in-law who couldn't even protect his wife!

Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath as he said to himself, "From now on, I, Farris, will make those who want to hurt my family pay a heavy price!"

After a while, he opened his eyes. There was a cruel glint in his eyes and smile that was unlike the old Farris.

"Luka Davis, you are asking for trouble. Since you're not going to stop pestering my wife, I am going to have to show you no mercy!"

Chapter 3 Guardian Angel

In the hall.

After deleting the text from Luka, Farris called Salter, asking him to investigate Luka's assets. He also ordered him to send some men to accompany him to the Riverside Hotel.

Salter only took ten minutes to finish the task. He would not dare to slack off on Farris's orders, so he did everything in a pinch.

Half an hour later, Farris arrived at the Riverside Hotel with five bodyguards, all dressed in black. They were well-trained subordinates of the Leopard Family and they were strong enough to protect Farris.

In order to ensure his safety, Salter had arranged the best bodyguards for him.

"Sir, there's no need for you to be here. We can just go in and grab him,"

one of the bodyguards suggested.

"I know it's easy to teach him a lesson, but I want to make sure the lesson is learnt. Remember not to reveal my true identity to him."

Farris put on a clown mask, because he wanted to keep his identity a secret for the time being.

Moreover, he was afraid that his newfound wealth and power would affect his relationship with Sheila.

His own father had changed into a completely different man because of his greed for wealth and power, which had ultimately resulted in his mother's death.

Farris didn't want to make the same mistakes that his father did. He only wanted to protect his wife, and as long as he could do it anonymously, that was enough for him.

When they arrived at Room 666, Farris knocked on the door and waited for Luka to open it.

After a while, Luka opened the door.

He stepped out with a smile. But the moment he saw several burly men dressed in black suits, his smile disappeared instantly. With a horrified look in his eyes, he stammered in fear, "Who are you?"

"You can call me Mr. L!"

After saying that, Farris lifted his foot and kicked Luka, pushing him into the room.

The five bodyguards behind him followed him into the room to subdue him.

"I don't care who you are! I'm Luka Davis from the Sky Corp.! If you dare to offend me, I will make you suffer!" Luka struggled to appear fierce.

"I know who you are, man. In fact, I have been looking for you."

Farris slowly locked the door and walked up to him. He deliberately spoke in a different voice, so that Luka would not be able to recognize him.

"What the hell do you want from me?"

Luka broke into a cold sweat. Seeing that he was outnumbered, he was a little scared. If it weren't for the fact that he worked for the Sky Corp., he would have been terrified.

Farris pulled up a chair and sat on it with his legs crossed, like a king. He then took out a piece of paper, which had something written on it.

"Luka Davis, forty-two years old; a man who loves gambling, and having sex with other people's wives. On August 15th last year, you promised to promote Jett Plank and then seduced his wife, Rita Astley, in Jork Hotel.

On February 14th this year, you got Carlee Barton drunk in the Riverside Hotel and had sex with her. She was the wife of the CEO of the Ensfield Bank.

On March 18th, you promised to lend money to your brother for his medical treatment, and then, you made an appointment with your sister-in-law, Dorsey Carman. You forced her to have sex with you in the Phoenix Mountain where you met..."

Farris had a list of all the married women that Luka had slept with, including the dates, places, and names.

Frightened by what he saw, Luka felt a chill down his spine.

'How could he know about my secrets? Even if the police investigated me, they probably won't find a thing!' However, Farris was making him unprecedentedly scared.

"How do you know all that?" Luka had to ask him.

"It doesn't matter how I know. The most important matter right now is that if I give this list to the police, then you'll be behind bars."

Farris flicked the paper that was filled with incriminating evidence.

"What the hell do you even want from me? Just spill it already!" Luka said in a voice filled with panic and fear as he looked at him.

Farris sneered and showed him two fingers. "I want to play two little games with you."

"What kind of games?"

"Answer my question and then roll the dice. But you need to answer my questions first. If you say the wrong answer, then you will be punished. The first question, do you prefer to have sex with other people's wives or gambling?"

"Having sex with other people's wives!" Luka blurted out.

"Wrong answer!" The bodyguard, who was standing next to Luka, slapped him hard across his face.

He felt like crying, but he could not. According to him, he had answered the question truthfully, so he wondered how it could be wrong. But the next second, he changed his answer. "It's gambling!"

"You are wrong again!" The bodyguard slapped him again.

Luka covered his face and didn't dare to make a sound while the bodyguard thrashed him once again.

That was when he finally understood the rule of the game. No matter what his answer was, he was going to get beaten.

After answering several questions in a row, Luka was in so much pain, but he still had to play the second game.

Farris took out a dice and a piece of paper and placed them in front of him.

As soon as Luka glanced at the paper, he began to sweat profusely. All his assets, his bank deposits, and everything he possessed was written on it.

He was indeed curious about the mysterious man in front of him. Who was he? How could he even know how much assets he had?

"Let's roll the dice and see who lands on a bigger number. If you win, I'll let you go. But if you lose, then I'll take away some of your assets before I slap you. I will be very generous and let you roll first, though."

With that, Farris handed the dice to him.

Luka gulped and prayed that he would be blessed with a bigger number before he rolled the dice.

It landed on five!

Farris picked up the dice and rolled it. It landed on one, the smallest number!

When Luka saw that, he finally smiled.

However, his happiness did not last more than a second. Farris suddenly reached out and turned the dice over. Now six was on top!

"I won. So I'll be taking your villa." Farris chuckled as he looked at him playfully.

"That's cheating! How can you break your promise so easily?" Luka retorted, feeling deceived.

But the moment he finished his words, the bodyguard next to him thrashed him again.

It was such a hard slap that Luka lost two of his teeth.

"Go on."

Farris was having fun and continued to throw the dice. He "won" more than ten times in a row, because he was using a trick.

In the end, Luka couldn't even sit up straight and was on the floor, motionless. His face was swollen beyond recognition.

"Luka, you should remember that I'm not a man to be trifled with."

Farris then stood up and left with his bodyguards, without even looking at the man who was on the floor.

The bodyguards and Farris went their separate ways after they exited the hotel.

Farris took off his mask. Switching between his identities made him feel excited.

By the time he got home, Sheila was done with her shower. When she saw Farris, she asked with a curious look in her eyes, "Honey, where were you at this odd hour?"

"Nowhere. I just went to buy some milk. I wanted to heat up some milk for you to help you feel warm." Farris then put the milk on the table.

In front of his enemies, he was a demon, but to Sheila, he was always the man who loved her.

He would probably be looked down upon by his mother-in-law and the rest of the Jacksons, but as long as he could be with the woman he loved, their insults did nothing to him.

"You are so kind." Leaning against his chest, Sheila blushed and they embraced each other warmly.

Meanwhile, it took a long time before Luka finally regained his consciousness. Recalling what he had just experienced, fear lingered in his heart.

He felt like he had gotten rid of the demon at last.

Just when he was about to sit up, he noticed numerous notifications popping up on his phone. He quickly opened his phone to check the messages.

"Mr. Davis, our bank has frozen your account because of your poor credit..."

"Mr. Davis, your villa has been sealed..."

"Mr. Davis, your car..."

Luka almost fainted after seeing those messages. All his credit cards were also frozen and he couldn't withdraw a penny.

Even his luxury cars and villas were taken away, leaving him with nothing.

That was when he remembered the list of his assets that the mystery man was holding up in front of him. 'He must be the one who has taken away all my assets!'

Although he resented that man, he did not dare to take revenge on him. He knew that he could not afford to offend a demon like him, so he had no choice but to admit defeat.

He walked to the mirror and looked at his swollen face. He was too embarrassed to go to work, so he decided to ask for leave from Jewel Leach, the vice president of the Sky Corp..

He dialed Jewel's number. "Miss Leach, I accidentally fell down and got hurt, so I need a few days' leave..."

"No, Luka, the new CEO is coming to inspect the company tomorrow. If you can't come to work tomorrow, then don't bother setting foot in the company ever again!"

"But I..." Luka wanted to explain, but Jewel had already hung up on him.

The new president was going to take office tomorrow. Even though he was injured, he had to go to work to show his dedication.

'That's right! I need to go to work tomorrow. As long as I am able to please the new CEO, I'll be able to earn back what I lost tonight!'

The next day, Luka walked into the company with bruises all over his face. When his colleagues saw him, they could not help but point their fingers at him and laugh.

Feeling ashamed, he hurried to his office. Although he had not been able to take revenge on that mystery man, he wanted to at least get his revenge on Farris and Sheila. He wanted to use the influence of the Sky Corp. to oppress Sheila's company.

Luka took out his phone and called his friends, but he could not get through to any of them.

"Shit! Is something wrong with my phone?" He was so furious that he almost wanted to smash his phone on the ground.
