Zero's POV

"Sir if I may speak to you about your decision."

"The decision has already been made Agent 53 there is nothing to discuss." I address him calmly.

"Agent 13 is hardly-"

"My decision is final and that is that."

"She's wild, she's reckless, her tactics are, are barbaric!"

"She gets the job done."

"She's a loose cannon."

"She's also, the best agent we've ever had."

"I understand that, really I do, " he responds "but do you really believe this is a good idea? Throwing her into a team of agents? She hasn't worked with anyone in over two years. You of all people know how she can get with other agents, she doesn't trust them, and throwing her into a group of complete strangers is not going to end well. Somebody's going to get hurt and it's not going to be her!"

"I am aware."

"Then why not just send her on the mission alone? You said so yourself she gets the job done."

I say nothing in reply as I hand him the mission file, giving him time to read over it before speaking again.

"Normally, yes I would send her on this mission alone but as you pointed out, I do know her, and I know how she can get. She is the only one capable of completing this mission but I'm not going to risk sending her on it alone. I need other agents to keep an eye on her and report back if she begins taking things too far. She knows these people better than anyone, regretfully, and she can help the team just as much as they can help her. Who knows this might just be the chance to get her back on a team, permanently."

"You know she'll never agree to this." He responds, glancing up from the file.

"Actually, she already has."

Cody's POV

I slam my fist into the punching bag yet again and watch as it shakes and protests against the chains.

"Hit that thing any harder and you'll break it."

I turn to face a smirking Devin leaning on the wall across from me.

"Like I care." I retort. He opens his mouth to make a smart arse reply but is cut off as Chase walks up.

"Devin quit bothering Cody."

"Me!?" shouts Devin "I didn't even do anything!"

"Yet" Jason interjects as he sits down on the benches. I shoot Devin a smug look causing him to curse under his breath and flip me the bird.

"That's enough" Chase snaps.

"Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Mumbles Jason earning snickers from me and Devin as well as a glare from Chase. He holds his hands up in surrender.

"Just saying" he states as Chase continues to glare. Suddenly the PA speakers blast to life.

"Delta team 2 please report to chief Zero's office for mission briefing."

"The chief's office?" Jason questions

"It must be pretty important if he wants to speak to us directly." Chase muses. Though what he said makes sense. The chief never calls field agents to his office unless it's important. He usually just has another high ranking agent brief us on our missions.

"Well let me be the first to say...Let's not piss him off and stand around all day!" Devin shouts before turning and booking it out of here. Devin has a...interesting personality...we think he's bipolar, he disagrees.

We follow out of the training room, just not as quickly, proceeding to walk through a series of hallways and rooms, occasionally bumping into other agents. We finally make it to the door labeled, Zero, only to see Devin waiting outside.

"What took you so long?" he demands, we...ignore him.

Chase knocks politely on the door and steps aside as it is opened by Agent 53.

"Sir." Chase addresses him politely. He nods back in response before stepping to the side and motioning for us to enter. The chief is a man in his early forties with light brown hair and matching brown eyes. He sat at his desk wearing a black suit and matching bow tie.

"Sit" he commands motioning with his hand at the four empty chairs resting in front of his desk.

"Leave us" he orders Agent 53, who turns and leaves, shutting the door silently behind him. We all turn our full attention to him as he hands us each a copy of the same file.

"The target is Tony Martin, he's a drug lord who recently happened to get his hands on some of our tech." I raise my eyebrows, somebody give the guy a gold medal.

"How?" Devin asks.

"I'm not at liberty to discuss that with you." I stare at him dumbstruck. We need any and all information we can get.

"Why?" I question, my tone coming out slightly accusing. He turns his icy glare to me.

"It is being taken care of." His voice deadly calm. "I expect you all to be packed within the next hour and waiting at the airfield. Further information as well as instructions will be given on the flight, you are dismissed."

Jason's the first to stand and start towards the door with the rest of us in tow.

"Oh I almost forgot." Zero's voice stopped us in our tracks. "There will be another agent joining you on this mission."

"Excuse me?!" I all but shout. There was no way in hell I was going to let that happen. We had worked together from the beginning and I'll be damned if I was going to allow another agent to join without a fight.

"You heard me." He starts calmly, "She's in need of a new team, and quite frankly no other team is as, well...capable of dealing with her."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Asks Devin.

"It means, she refused to work with any other team." Zero responds calmly though I swear I see his lip twitch in the tiniest bit as if he's enjoying our little freak out. "But also no other team is as fit to handle her and her, temper." A groan escapes my lips before I can stop it. Just great a girl with attitude problems, that's exactly what we need on our team. Note sarcasm.

"She would only be on your team for this mission unless she'd be willing as well as the rest of you of course, to stay on your team for good." Two words old man, HELL NO!

"With all due respect sir, adding a new member to this team will only slow us down." Chase responds, finally speaking up.

"On the contrary, if anything your team will slow her down." He smiles at us in way that makes me uneasy. What does he know that we don't?

***

"What does he mean we'll slow her down?" I ask as I angrily shove yet another shirt into the already full suitcase resting on my bed. "We are the best agents this agency has ever had and he thinks we need another member, uh no thanks." I growl out.

"Hey we're all pissed about it but taking it out on your suitcase isn't going to solve anything."

"Never thought I'd say this but Devin's right Cody, just calm down." Replies Chase.

"Alright, alright" Jason interrupts, "I am the only one thinking about the actual agent or are we all too busy moping over the fact we got stuck with not only another agent but a girl at that?"

"What are you on about?" I snap back at him.

"Did none of you even realize he didn't give us a name or number? I mean I'm a little curious as to who she is. After all she'd have to be a good agent or he wouldn't have assigned her to our team."

"I have never met, seen, or heard of any agent what-so-ever that is as good as any one of us." I retort.

"What about Agent 13?" Devin questions quietly.

"Oh please, we all know Zero made that one up. He just wanted other agents to become more motivated to get better. Agent 13 is a myth, a damn ghost story." Chase comments, his tone one of annoyance.

"Besides, " Jason chimes in, "Zero doesn't allow solo agents anyway. You have to be on a team no matter what."

"Which means she just lost her team." All eyes turn to Devin, "Think about, " he continues "If she's joining our team, that means she doesn't have one, and you can't join another team unless your previous one is...gone."

"Great we're going to have a broken, unstable, emotional, lost freaking puppy looking for a new home." I grumble in annoyance, but what Devin said makes sense and it is true, there is no switching or joining another team unless yours is, well extinct.

Chase was right to begin with, she is only going to slow us down. Well I hope she can hold her own in a fight cause first chance I get I'm leaving her on the enemy's door step...she'd make a good distraction...and if she ended up getting herself killed well, all our problems would be solved. No one comments back on my statement though I have a feeling they're thinking the same thing.

I grab four more shirts from the closet stuff them, more gently this time, into my suitcase and zip it shut.

"Everybody ready?" Chase asks us, as he too zips his suitcase closed.

"Yep"

"Yeah"

"Sure?"

"Then let's go." Chase leads the way this time as we walk yet again through the complicated series of hallways, each of with a suitcase in hand and a backpack on. We step through a set of bulletproof glass doors and into the massive air hanger which holds six jets, nine airplanes, thirty-two war planes, and twenty-six small drones. Its large doors were open which gave us a view of the long air strip and the jet waiting just outside the doors.

"Delta 2" Zero addresses us

"Chief Zero" responds Chase politely. I roll my eyes.

"Agent 76 will take your bags for you." he gestures to the man in his late twenties standing on his right. He motions for us to follow him as he walks towards the jet.

"Where's the girl?" Jason whispers to me.

"Probably still trying to get all her heels and hair products to fit in her suitcase." I snicker in response to which he just laughs quietly.

"Agent 91 will accompany you on your flight and finish briefing you on your mission." Zero says just as we reach the metal set of stairs leading into the jet. The soft thudding of footsteps brings everyone's attention to the girl around nineteen descending the staircase.

She's wearing no make-up, black combat boots, tight fitting black jeans, and a black v-neck shirt that hugs her body nicely. Her straight black hair is pulled up into a high ponytail, swaying with every step she takes. She stands at around 5'7, her hazel shifting back and forth between all of us like a wild animal on the hunt.

"We're ready on this end." She says to Zero, completely ignoring us.

"Good." He replies, "Gentlemen I would like to introduce your new team member-"

"Temporarily"

"As well as your pilot." Zero continues, as he ignores her interruption.

"She got a name?" Chase asks, his tone showing complete boredom.

"She is right here." Her voice drenched in venom. Zero ignores all of us as he continues to speak.

"Ye-" he starts, only to be interrupted by none other than the wicked witch herself. Her answer leaving us in shock as one word or rather number escapes her lips.

"Thirteen."

Chapter 1 1. Put your set belts on

Alright so I decided that since this story has only one chapter and it's kind of hard to decide whether or not you like the book I decided to be nice and update early. Enjoy!

Thirteen's POV

They all continue to stare, mouths agape, as if I was the newest Iphone on the market. Seriously people get a life.

"Ha, ha. Nice try now what's your real name." I turn my gaze on the boy with dark brown hair, grey eyes, and an intricate tattoo on his arm. He's giving off this bad boy vibe, his muscles tense and arms cross as he oh so patiently, note sarcasm, waits for my response.

"Well?"

"My name is of no importance to you, but my number is in fact thirteen." I state calmly though firmly. The muscles in his arms twitch as if he is having the hardest time keeping himself from running up the steps and strangling me...let's test that theory shall we.

"Are you going to continue standing there like a mopey little girl all day, or do you actually plan on doing something with your life cause this jet is leaving in exactly ten minutes with or without you on it." I state.

"By all means, leave without us. You'll just be forced to complete the mission on your own." He smirks as if he just won.

"Good to know you have a sense of humor, " I start, "but I'm sorry did you forget my number? Do you really think I need you for this mission? The only reason you're even here is because of him, " I jerk my thumb in Zero's direction "and by the way I wasn't going to leave everyone, just you." The veins in his neck seem to pop out and his face turns a lovely shade of red. I just stare back at him, the same blank look on my face as always. Suddenly there's laughing to his left. I glance over to see a boy with curly, shaggy brownish-blond hair and deep blue eyes.

"I like her" he manages to laugh out.

"See, " I say turning back to tattoo boy, "perfect example of why I was only going to leave you." he makes a noise that sounds a growl, but for all I know he's just constipated. I honestly won't be surprised actually. "And if you still don't believe me on what my "real" number is, just ask Zero, he is standing right next to you." All heads turn to Zero.

"One thing you'll learn about Thirteen is that she doesn't lie when it comes to stuff like this."

"But you made up the character of Thirteen." Protests a boy, actually this one gets the honor of being called a man. He's older than the rest, who all look to be around the age of nineteen, my age, by at the very least a year or two; he has short blond hair and bright blue eyes mixed with gray, along with slight stubble all along his jaw line. My mind immediately identifies him as the leader of this team.

"I have made up a lot of things over the years, but Agent Thirteen was never one of them." He replies, his lip twitching in that 'I'm amused' sort of way.

"But I saw the mission files, " he protests, "they were-"

"Signed by a different team?" I interrupt

"Well yes, " he starts again "you never completed those missions." I roll my eyes, if the last guy is anything like these two, I think the only one I'll be getting along with is shaggy.

"I had other teams take credit for those missions, they don't even know that their numbers are on the files. I didn't want anyone knowing about Thirteen." Replies Zero

"Why?" questions the last guy. He's got black hair and dark green eyes. He turns his hard gaze on me and I unknowingly tense and place my hand on the hilt of the dagger tucked into the back of my jeans. My heart clenches and I proceed to avoid his questioning gaze, it works for all of ten seconds.

"Because I'm supposed to be dead." I whisper, though by the looks on their faces I know they heard me. No one says anything in return and I turn on my heel and begin to walk back up the metal staircase and into the jet. "Wheels up in ten, I expect you to be on board or I will take off without you." I call over my shoulder, my tone leaving no room for protests.

You know how in movies most of the rich characters have their own jets or planes. Well that's basically what this one looks like. The insides are all white including the reclining couch-like chairs. There are four bolted in against the back wall, two on each side, and four more along the sides. The four on the sides are split two and two on each side leaving room for the walkway in the middle. Two flat screen T.V.s were positioned on the wall separating the cockpit from the cabin area. There was a small refrigerator, as well as microwave at the rear end of the plane. There was a restroom up front and another in the back each positioned across from a closet stocked with, colored contacts, hair dye, different kinds of makeup, duffle bags, money, passports, I.D.s, and most importantly, weapons of practically every variety.

I sit in my seat and proceed to slip the headset over my head. I latch myself in before looking at my watch. You boys have six minutes. Is it bad I'm kind of hoping they don't get on? The thought of leaving without them comes to mind but Zero's warning flashes in my head. Maybe he's right this time.

"I got to ask, were you serious about leaving without us?" I turn my head to see shaggy leaning against the wall.

"Yes" I respond simply. "I mean I might have given all you guys a few extra minutes though if your friend with the tattoo still wasn't on board I definitely would have left." His laugh breaks the silence.

"Yeah, Cody wasn't to uh, fond of the idea of having another agent joining us, especially not a girl" he states.

"Sexist pig" I mutter and he goes into another round of laughter.

"Nah, it's more like 'I'm the best and no one can keep up and blah, blah, blah.'"

"Oh well that makes everything better." Sarcasm dripping off my every word.

"Sooooo, what do you do up here?"

"Crash the plane." I state seriously, my voice making it sound as if it was no big deal. A look of complete and utter fear crosses his face, his eyes going wide as saucers. I roll my eyes "I fly the plane."

"You have a very good poker face."

"Why thank you..." I trail off leaving him to fill in blank.

"Devin." He states

"Number?"

"Twenty-two." I just nod in response before reaching my hand over to start the engines.

"If your buddies aren't here in the next thirty seconds I am seriously taking off without them." I comment. Not even joking, this bird will be in the air whether or not they're on it. Although I feel like Zero would literally shoot me out of the sky if I did that. I'd have to try that some time. My thoughts were interrupted by the thudding of footsteps, running up the stair case, hey not my fault you morons can't keep track of time. I press the green button making sure my voice can be heard over the speakers.

"Ladies and gentlemen, oh who am I kidding you're all ladies. Anyway, please fasten your seat belts I only want to have to say this once even though I know the only one of you, who will actually put on their seat belt is Agent 91." I pause "with that being said, since the majority of you look like you could pass as kindergartners let's review what a seat belt does...it saves your life 75% of the time, so please wear it. I would be a shame if something where to happen and none of you had a seat belt on. Thank-you." I quickly shut the soundproof cockpit door just as they all begin to...well let's just say they all have a very colorful vocabulary, Cody especially. This is going to be a very long flight.

***

"So what does that button do?" asks Devin for the thirty-sixth time. Yes I'm keeping track.

"That's the self destruct button"

"Really?"

"No"

"You're no fun" he states

"Am I supposed to be entertaining you? Cause flying a plane kind of needs all my attention unless of course you want to die today. If so just say the word."

"Hey, " Agent 91 pops his head in "I'm getting ready to do the briefing, you joining?" he asks me. "I know you're already up to speed but just in case you want to add in something I miss."

"Yeah why not." I stand from my seat taking off the headset and hanging it on the wall behind me.

"What the hell!?" Devin shouts "What about the plane?!"

"It's on autopilot." I state, his mouth drops in shock.

"And how long has it been on autopilot?"

"The past three hours."

"You're mean."

"I know." I reply before I turn and continue into the main cabin area. Devin walks in behind me followed by Agent 91. I stare at the rest of the agents who are all sprawled out in the chairs on their phones none of them wearing seat belts. Unbelievable.

"You know, " I start "I never did get your names or numbers."

"And we never got yours." Cody states.

"Thirteen is both my name and number you will not be learning my name, I have not gone by it in over two years and I'm not changing that now, so, your names please." I manage to grit out the last horrifying word.

"I'm Chase." I spin around to face the leader.

"Number?"

"Eighty"

"You're the leader." I state. He nods.

"That's Jason, " he points to the boy with black hair, "his number's sixty-five, and that's Cody, his number's nine." I will probably never use their names, but for now let's make it look like I actually care.

"Alright now that everyone's here let's begin." Agent 91 starts. "As you all know the target is Tony Martin a big time drug lord recently him and his 'crew' have gotten their hands on some of our technology as well as weapons. They've been causing a lot of problems lately and need to be taken out of the picture." He pauses, "unfortunately for us he is only a middle man, but in order to find their real leader you're going to need to bring Mr. Martin in. we don't have much information on them but we do know they operate out of a small city just outside of Chicago. Your job is simple, capture Martin, take out any and all of his men, and destroy anything of ours they've managed to get their hands on." He finishes and turns to me "Did I miss anything Agent 13?"

"Nope sounds good to me." I answer.

"I have a question" comments Jason, "Why couldn't she go this alone? This doesn't exactly seem like a mission she can't handle." I turn my head so they can't see my face and stare out the window. I think they deserve a somewhat of an honest answer.

"Because, " I pause trying to figure out how to word my answer, "because Zero's afraid I'll take things too far." I answer quietly.

"Why?"

"Because I know these people, and not in a good way."

"What's that supposed to mean?" snaps Cody

"I hold grudges, that's what it means." My voice deadly calm. No one says anything after that and instead they all take their seats. I look down at the watch on my wrist to check the time.

"We're a little less than twenty minutes out. I'm going start lowering the plane." I say before turning and making my way back to the cockpit and taking a seat. I put the headset on and switch the plane off of cruise control, placing my hands on the controls.

I look at the small screen on my right which happens to be hooked up to the security camera in the cabin, only to see that still no one is wearing a seat belt. I sigh. I reach over and press the button to activate the speakers.

"Ladies as uncomfortable as some seat belts may be, " I pause "Put your seat belts on." I command. I look back at the screen to just in time to see Jason salute me...with his middle finger. Hard way it is then.

"Don't say I didn't warn you, " I say more to myself then them. "Game on boys, game on."

Chapter 2 2. Now you've done it

Thirteen's POV

I internally smirk to myself, boys, they seem to forget whose flying the plane. In a sense their lives are in my hands. Well I got five rules for them.

Rule #1: Never piss off the pilot.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the gentlemen part is strictly directed to Ninety-one only, we are experiencing slight turbulence ahead, it would be in your best interest to put your seat belts on." I announce through the PA system, even though there's no turbulence within twenty miles of this aircraft.

"Oh shit" I hear Ninety-one comment, while I watch him through the screen, hurriedly trying to buckle himself in. he's officially the only smart one, then again he has flown with me before and...well let's just say he learned from his previous mistakes.

Rule #2: Pay attention to what your superiors are doing.

"What?" asks Chase as he continues to watch Ninety-one buckle all three of the different seat belts.

Each seat on this jet has three different seat belts. There is the standard one that goes over your lap, the one that goes over your shoulder, and finally the one that goes over both shoulders and buckles in front twice, like a life jacket.

"Now you've done it" he states in response to Chase's previous question.

"Did what?" questions Devin, a slight look of worry etched across his face.

"Yeah, I'm confused." Announces Jason.

"I'd buckle in if I were you." responds Ninety-one.

"Why just cause there happens to be some turbulence up ahead?" Cody retorts "As if I'm going to listen to her."

Rule #3: Always do what your pilot asks.

"You should." Ninety-one replies.

"I got news for you sweetheart, " Cody calls out to me, "turbulence has never brought down a plane." I press the button to activate the speakers once more.

"You're right, " I pause "but I have." With that being said I reach over and cut all power to the jet.

Rule #4: Don't panic it's all under control...for the most part anyway.

I got to say there is nothing more exhilarating than falling. Whether it be for sky diving, bungee jumping, or just bouncing on a trampoline, there is just something about falling that makes you feel free. Unfortunately not everyone seems to think that way. Take the idiots in the back for example, they seem to think screaming and panicking is going to do something to make it stop. I got to say I've never in my entire nineteen years of life heard a guy make such a high pitched sound until now. It really is quite amusing, for me at least anyway.

I continue watching them through the screen, the only thing I didn't cut power to. It is quite the sight to see four of the best agents screaming and tumbling around the cabin area. Chase suddenly is able to grab hold of one of the chairs and pulls himself into buckling his seat belt in the process. See now was that so hard?

An alarm sounds on the console in front of me, a warning of just how close we are getting to the concrete runway below. Only we're diving at it, instead of actually attempting to land, for now anyway. I turn back to the screen; Chase is gripping the armrests for life, his knuckles turning white. Devin has managed to make it to a seat but seems to be having trouble with the seat belts. Jason and Cody...are still tumbling around the plane. Morons.

I grip the controls tightly in my hands, before proceeding to reach over and repower the plane. The lights come back on one by one, along with the headset and controls. I yank up on the wheel forcing the plane to straighten itself, and land, safely might I add.

Boys 0, Thirteen 1.

Rule #5: Learn from your mistakes for next time.

I hang the headset on the wall behind me before opening the door to the cabin area. I'm greeted with groans of pain. Not entirely my fault.

"Next time put your seat belts on." I shrug

"There will be no next time." Jason mutters.

"You're insane." Mumbles Devin. I turn to Ninety-one.

"How'd I do?"

"Two feet from the ground." He replies, a look of pure horror plastered on his face.

"Sweet, new record."

"Two feet from the GROUND?!" shouts Cody. "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!"

"You know, " I reply calmly, "I haven't decided, but this could have all been avoided if you just put your seat belt on to begin with." I walk past them and open the door, "Next time this happens we'll see how long all of you will last with the door open." With that being said I made my way out of the aircraft.

***

"Are you sure you know where you're going?"

"Yes." Snaps Cody.

"Just asking." I murmur.

"Well no one asked you, so do us all a favor and shut up."

"Maybe I should drive."

"No, you nearly killed us driving the plane, I'd rather not have another near death experience today."

"Technically you fly a plane not drive."

"Shut up, do me a favor and don't talk to me."

I let out a sigh before getting comfortable in my seat. I stare out the window at the rows and rows of houses and businesses we continue to drive by, or as Cody has pointed out, he continues to drive by. I watch as we pass the street he should be turning on, but I don't say anything.

Thirty minutes later...

"Dude I think we're lost." I snort in response to Devin's statement.

"I thought that was made obvious thirty minutes ago." Jason retorts while Chase just looks defeated. He tried to get them to stop arguing ages ago, see how well that worked.

"We aren't lost" Cody snaps, "The turn hasn't even come up yet." If only he knew.

I turn in my seat to face Chase, "You do know he already passed the turn right?" the car suddenly comes to a screeching stop causing me to slam my head against the practically rock hard headrest.

"WHAT?" Cody shouts, but all I seem to be able to focus on are a hundred different blurry images. I groan and rest my head in my hands. Thanks a lot arsehole.

"We passed the turn." I state, my tone dangerously calm.

"How long ago?"

"Now probably about forty minutes earlier."

"Why didn't you say anything" his tone nothing short of accusing. I close my eyes trying to get rid of the pounding in my head.

"Why?" he snaps.

"You told me not to talk to you." I state staring him right in the eyes and not backing down. Devin and Jason begin to snicker loudly in the back seat.

"You two are entertaining" comments Devin.

"Agreed." Jason and Chase say in unison.

"Glad you guys find us fighting entertaining." Cody manages to grit out. I continue to stare he reminds me so much of-stop, now's not the time to bring up the past I scold myself.

"What?" he snaps at me.

I shrug "You remind me of someone."

"Oh yeah? Who?"

"An old friend." I whisper more to myself than to him. I don't like dwelling on the past, on the people I've lost. But I wasn't lying when I said he reminded me of them. One thing I tried not to do was lie. It was my lies that destroyed me to begin with. I wasn't going to have a repeat of last time.

Within five minutes of going in the right direction this time, Cody decided we were going to slow, so since it was around midnight and no one was out, he floored it. We made it to the safe house in maybe two minutes, since he actually made the right turns this time.

"This isn't so bad" Chase's comment caused me to take my first glance at the house. He wasn't lying, the house had seen better days but as far as I was concerned we were only going to be here for a month tops.

"It's fine." I say as a grab my suitcase and backpack from Jason who was unloading the car. I watch as Cody makes his way over and hands Jason one of the guns from the back. I unintentionally tense, my hand immediately finding its way to my dagger. My actions do not go unnoticed.

"What's up with you?" Devin asks.

"Nothing." I answer quickly causing all heads to turn in my direction. "I'll be inside" I state. I practically run up the stairs and into one of the available rooms. I throw my bags on the bed and grab my cell phone out from the backpack. I pause as punch in the numbers. I stare at the phone in my hands before shutting it off. No giving up.

I get to my feet and begin unpacking what little I brought. The loud shouts and curses coming from the stair way tells me that they finally entered the house.

I exit the room, closing the door behind me. Their heads all snap up at the sound and I walk by them. The house is nothing fancy just a standard two story house. There were a total of three bathrooms, one downstairs and two upstairs. There were five bedrooms, one for each of us, and then of course there's the kitchen, living room, and even game room as well, why on earth we needed that one was beyond me.

I proceed to make my way the kitchen and open the already stocked fridge. Thank you Zero. I pull some bread and pop it in the toaster just as Devin walks in.

"Whatcha doing?" he asks, tilting his head to the side causing his hair to fall in his face.

"Making toast."

"Oh." He pauses "You know, I know absolutely nothing about you" good "other than the fact you're extremely entertaining." I raise my eyebrows at him giving him a blank stare. He stares back.

"Do you even know what a smile is?" he asks.

"I don't smile" I respond politely.

"Why?"

"You remind me of a five year old."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Got nothing to smile about." He stops talking and just continues to stare at me while I flip the toast.

"Of course there's nothing to smile about you're here." Comes Cody's comment.

"Real mature." I mutter quietly, unfortunately Devin hears me and begins laughing loudly. "Contrary to popular belief you need me here, or you're going to lose."

"Yeah you keep telling yourself that." He retorts as he sits at the counter. "Though I will admit you're different from what I expected."

"You mean different from the broken, unstable, emotional, freaking lost puppy looking for a new home?" I turn to face him. His eyes widen and his mouth proceeds to drop open in shock.

"H-how do you know that?" he stutters while Devin gives me the same look as Cody.

"I have my ways." I was never going to tell him the truth. I mean I had originally thought it was common knowledge to everyone that Zero bugged all the rooms. But I guess it wasn't. Although if I told them, and they brought it up with Zero, he'd know I was in his office without permission again. I don't think he'd care that was listening in on them but he would defiantly be upset with me for being in his office alone, again.

"Are you going to enlighten me on your ways?"

I snort, "No."
