Hope you all enjoy the first chapter of, Agent 1.
I was going to wait till I had five chapters completed and written up, but I figured I wouldn't make you guys wait any longer. I'll make sure to post a couple more chapters soon.
Unknown POV
My phone begins to ring loudly, the sound splitting through the previously quiet house. I pull it from my pocket and freeze when I see the familiar number flashing across the screen, as if daring me to answer.
I knew he'd call.
I know what he wants...but am I willing to give it?
I debate not answering, and letting it go to voicemail.
What's the worst that could happen?
Scratch that. Not answering has more consequences than actually answering.
I guess I was just hoping he'd call later rather than sooner.
Just my luck he chooses otherwise.
I answer the phone.
"You chose the wrong side." His cold voice greets me.
"I should say the same to you, but I know it won't get through your thick skull." I retort coolly and he laughs bitterly.
"I'll give you one chance to take back your choice. It's in your best interest to choose wisely this time or you're going to join them in hell when I'm done with you."
"Don't waste your breath." I growl back through the phone. "It's not going to happen. I've chosen my side and you've chosen yours." There's silence on the other end. "And I wouldn't take back my choice for the world. There's nothing you can offer me, nothing you can threaten me with that will make me change my mind."
"Be prepared, cause as soon as the next flight's available...I'm coming for you."
"Give it your best shot...and I'll give it mine." I slam the phone down on the counter as hard as I can, shattering the screen.
It doesn't matter, I'm not going to be needing it anymore. Not where I'm going.
I stick my hand into my jacket and pull out the white crinkled envelope I've stuffed into my pocket. I've pulled it out a million times over only to stuff it back into my pocket a few seconds later.
But this time I keep it out a pull out the papers inside. My eyes briefly scan over the writing yet again but the words are not my concern. Not what I need. My eyes settle on the address written in the bottom corner.
I pull the last thing remaining in the envelope out. I allow the metal badge to catch the light before turning it over in my hands.
He's pissed off at me for choosing the wrong side...
Let's piss him off even more.
Cody's POV
"Why is the gate open?" Chase asks, his tone has a hint of panic in it as he begins to drive up the long driveway to Thirteen's house.
I shake my head but worry begins to unfurl in the pit of my stomach. Thirteen doesn't just leave the gate of her house wide open for anybody to come in...especially not after Lydia.
Chase and I get our answer as we pull up in front of the house. Several large construction trucks and moving vans are taking up most of the parking places in front of the house.
"What the hell?" I mutter as I peer out the window.
Thirteen comes walking down the front steps of her house after pushing off from the doorway in which she was watching. Chase rolls down the window and she bends over to lean slightly into the car.
"Back up a little and give me a sec." She says before either of us can get a word out. "I'll open up the garage for you two to park."
She pushes off from the car and walks off inside as Chase backs up the car like she said to. We wait a little while before the garage door slowly begins to open. Thirteen leans against the wall next to the controls and waves us in, gesturing for us to park on the far left of the garage. Away from the tarps covering several more cars.
Her garage is freaking huge.
I get out of the car with Chase and he locks the car as Thirteen walks over to us. I pull her into my arms as soon as she's close enough. I see her roll her eyes but smile none the less. I give her a quick kiss on the lips.
"Yeah I'm still here." Chase states, a smirk plastered on his face. I flip him off and Thirteen just rolls her eyes again.
"So...what's up with the vans and trucks?" Chase asks as he points at the driveway.
"Long story." She says as her happy expression turns into a resigned and tired look. "Here's the fastest way to sum it up. What do think is the first thing Lily wanted to do when she was released from the hospital last week?"
"Move in?" I suggest and Thirteen tilts her head back and forth as if weighing her options.
"Alright what was the second thing?" She finally asks instead.
"Redecorate?" Chase suggests this time and Thirteen shakes her head.
"I wish." She says simply. She turns towards the door connecting the house to the garage.
"Then what was it?" I ask and Thirteen cringes.
"I'll give you a warning and a hint." She says as she pushes open the door and begins walk down the hallway into the main room. "The warning...don't go into the backyard. The hint...what she wanted, is the exact opposite of what she named it."
Both me and Chase stop in our tracks and I see him pale...I'm sure my face matches his.
"No." I finally manage to say and Thirteen just nods with a grimace.
"Yep." She says. "Lily has given it free reign of my pool. So I hired some people to make a new pool, and to fence in the 'Angel' currently living in my backyard."
"Why would you let her bring that thing here?" Chase practically yells, panic in his tone.
Thirteen glares at him. "I didn't let her. She went behind my back and smuggled it in here with the help of Henri."
Henri must really like Lily...or just really enjoys scaring the crap out of people.
"Where is she?" Chase questions. "I'm going to ring her scrawny little neck."
Thirteen just shakes her head. "Yeah good luck with that one. Fair warning, if you do run into her in the next ten minutes, just take the damn sweaters and put them on...and don't mention anything."
"Mention anything about what?" I question and I get my answer as we enter the main section of the house. I turn towards Thirteen. "Remind me again what month it is." I mutter.
I don't even know what to focus on. My eyes drift to the giant Christmas tree set up in the middle of the room and decorated with the brightest lights, gold garland, and red bulbs. There's wreaths strung up everywhere along with more garland. There's fake snow covering every inch of the floor, and mistletoe hung above every doorway.
"It's not December." Thirteen mutters. "But don't tell her that."
"She does realize we're in the middle of spring, right?" Chase asks as he looks around at the decorations in confusion. "Christmas has already passed."
"Again, I warn you, don't tell her that." Thirteen runs a hand through her hair and lets out a tired sigh.
"Any word on Jason?" She asks.
I nod. "Actually yes." Her eyes find mine as I talk. "Zero was able to get access the security footage from the building across the street from the hospital. The video is slightly blurry, but it clearly shows Jason walking out of the hospital building on his own. No one with him, following him, or around him."
Thirteen's eyebrows wrinkle in confusion. "Then where the hell did he go? And why did he leave?"
I shrug. "I don't know. We've tried calling him but if he has his phone he's not answering it."
She nods. "I'll try calling Ryder again to see if he can find him."
"Ryder still not answering his phone?"
"No and neither is Nicky...I'm beginning to get a little worried."
"I'm not."
All of us turn to look at Lily as she descends the staircase like she's some kind of queen...only, she doesn't exactly look the part.
Candy-cane striped leggings, a green elf dress, green heels, and a Christmas elf hat sitting on her head...and then there's her hair.
She's dyed the left side of her hair red, and the right side green.
"My brother may not have as many lives as me left, but I have no doubt that idiot's alive somewhere. Do you have any idea how many people want him dead? My motto is, If I can't kill him, no one can."
She makes it the bottom of the stairs as she finishes off her little speech. She holds out two of the ugliest Christmas sweaters I've ever seen.
"For you two." She says simply, holding them out at arm's length and expecting us to take them.
"Yeah there's no way I'm going to-"
Thirteen's elbow makes contact with Chase's rib cage before he can finish his sentence. She leans in closer to him as he clutches his side in pain and shoots her a look.
"I told you to just take the damn things." She mutters for only us to hear. Lily still holds out the sweaters expectantly and I take one from her.
"You do realize it's not even close to Ch-"
Chase is going to have some fractured or broken ribs if he keeps talking.
"What did I warn you about?" Thirteen hisses.
"I've been in a coma for the past four, almost five years." Lily interjects. "I have missed...five Christmases and therefore I'm giving you all the honor and privilege to spend my make up Christmas with me."
Chase looks her with slight annoyance but I see him giving in to her and he finally takes the second sweater from Lily. She smiles gleefully and bounds off.
"Does she really expect us to wear these?" Chase questions. He's holding the sweater out at arm's length like it has some kind of disease on it.
"If you ever want to get a wink of sleep for the rest of your life, I suggest you put the sweater on before she comes back." Thirteen says. "Devin's pranks and jokes are absolutely nothing compared to Lily's, and she happens to know how to work the traps in this house. Remember that."
"Why aren't you wearing a sweater?" Chase presses and Thirteen smiles smugly.
"I'm the only one who can win an argument with her." She sounds rather proud of herself. "I also have to leave in about, " She looks down at the watch on her wrist. "Fifteen minutes. I have a company meeting that I have to attend. So you two are on babysitting duty."
"I'd rather babysit the gator." Chase says flatly. Me and Thirteen laugh.
"That can be an option." Thirteen says and Chase pales ever so slightly.
"I see you've healed." I speak up, changing the subject.
Thirteen smiles slightly. "Only because I've been stuck in the hospital, or this house for the past nine weeks...and Lily may have handcuffed me to the bed at one point to keep me from getting up. Leg's still a little sore and I could potentially reopen the wound, but it's healed...for now at least."
She shrugs and her expression turns serious. "How's Devin doing?"
I laugh. "He's giving the nurses and the doctors hell. He's pissed that he's still stuck in that hospital instead of over here with us."
"The doctors say he's going to make a full recovery, but they want to keep him at the hospital for as long as possible to make sure nothing's wrong. Gunshots to the chest are deadly, daggers even worse, and coupled with poison...well it's bad." Chase adds in and Thirteen looks away with a pained look on her face.
"It wasn't your fault." Both me and Chase say the exact same time. Clearly the same thought was running through our minds when we saw the look on her face. She just smiles gratefully at us.
"And Devin's going to be fine. He's already being as annoying as possible to try to get the hospital to dismiss him and then he can come here." Chase adds.
"He also says he's beginning to understand your hatred of slings and crutches." I chime in and she turns her attention to me.
Her eyebrows furrow together in confusion. "Are they making him use crutches?"
I shake my head with a smile. "Nope. Zero's had him confined to a wheel chair. He says he finally understands why you're always so grumpy."
She scowls, but a smile appears on her face a moment later. She shakes her head and motions for us to follow.
"Agent 1 is scheduled to get here within the week...but I think it's safe to assume he won't be here till next week." She says as we walk up the stairs to get to the third floor.
"What makes you say that?" I ask and she shoots me a devious smile over her shoulder.
"Lily-even though she claims to have 'corrupted' him-still doesn't know if she can trust him completely. So she's currently sending him on one of her wild goose chases before she finally leads him here. She wants to see how much of her horror houses he can put up with."
"I feel bad for the guy." Chase mutters.
"Eh." Thirteen waves off his concern. "He'll live...hopefully. Worst that happens is he dies of a heart attack before actually getting here."

Thirteen's POV
I shift in my bed and glance at the digital clock sitting on my nightstand. I can't remember the last time I slept in this late...even though it's only a little after nine.
I throw back the covers slightly and begin to move out of the bed. I'm the kind of person who can't fall asleep again once they've woken up. It's just not going to happen so there's no point in trying to go back to sleep.
I don't get very far out of the bed before I realize getting up is just not going to happen right now. Not unless Cody removes his arm from around my waist.
I look over my shoulder at him. He's asleep as far as I can tell, but his grip is not letting up. I gently grab hold of his arm and move to lift it of me, but his grip only tightens.
"Cody." I whisper, trying to find out if he's actually awake. His face remains the same, and he doesn't move, but when I try to remove his arm a second time and his other snakes around my waist as well, I know he's awake.
"Cody I need to get up." My back is pressed against his chest and his breath fans over my cheek. He doesn't say anything but when I look over my shoulder I can he's smiling.
"Cody." I mutter and his grip only tightens more. I roll my eyes at him and his remain closed. "What are you planning on doing? Holding me hostage?"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea." He mumbles, his voice muffled and heavy with sleepiness.
"Well unlike you, I have things to do today." I try to roll out of his grip when he doesn't reply. "Cody." I groan.
He loosens his grip enough for me to turn around and face him. His eyes are still closed but he's got a smile on his face. I shake my head.
"You're ridiculous."
"Shh..." He trails off, eyes still closed. "I'm sleeping."
I watch him 'sleep' for a few minutes before an idea pops into mind. I rest my hands on his chest and just barely brush my lips against his. His arms tighten around me, pulling me into him as he begins to move his lips in sync with mine.
I smile against his lips. "Oh so you're awake now?" I tease and he smiles before finally opening his eyes.
"Maybe..." He trails off, pressing his lips against mine again. I roll us both over till I'm right by the edge of the bed, and the minute his grip loosens just the slightest, I roll out of his arms and place my feet firmly on the floor.
"Tease." Cody grumbles and I smile widely at him.
I make a move to head to my closet...right up until the point I see what's on my floor. I can't get back into the bed fast enough.
"Changed your mind?" Cody's smug voice sounds off right by my ear.
"You would too if you saw what's lurking on the floor in my room. Never mind that Lily has painted it's claws with glittering gold nail polish, put a light up bulb necklace around its neck and a Santa hat on its head. That thing is never going to be anything less than the opposite of what she named it."
Cody's eyes widen and he moves unconsciously further away from the side of the bed.
"I'm going to kill her."
"Angel, or Lily?" I question.
"Either one at this point."
"I will help you."
"How did she even manage to decorate that gator without getting eaten."
"I really don't want to know." I cautiously peek over the side of the bed at Angel. Her eyes-thankfully-are closed and she appears to be sleeping.
"I'm going to try to make it to the closet without getting eaten." I tell Cody. He grabs onto my arm.
"Are you insane?"
"No. I'm just motivated. Besides, I'm fairly certain it's asleep."
I slip off the bed before he can protest. I tip toe as quietly as I can to the closet. As soon as I'm in I close the door and lock it. It's not going to make much of a difference considering that thing can break down doors whenever it damn well pleases.
I quickly change out of my t-shirt and sweats into a tank top and jeans, slipping my feet into my boots. I open the door cautiously, slowly, and see Cody has made it off the bed and over to his bag that he left on the couch. He's changed into a t-shirt and jeans.
I point to the door and slowly creep over to it, but before I can make it to the door...a low hissing sound comes from behind me.
I freeze in my tracks for a second before sprinting the rest of the way to the door and throwing it open, Cody right behind me. He tries to close the door, but I grab his arm, stopping him.
"No don't. Leave it open. I'd rather that thing leave my room on its own instead of having to break down the door."
We both practically sprint the rest of the way into the kitchen.
"Do I even want to know?" Chase asks when we both enter the kitchen. Cody paces back and forth, hands on his head. I have one hand on my knee and the other over my heart.
"You're internal alarm clock is obviously broken. So I figured I'd give you an alarm clock...obviously I need to find a louder gator." Lily speaks up from her seat on the counter.
Her hair is pulled back into a braid, mixing the two colors of her hair together. A pair of reindeer antlers sit on her head and she's wearing a ugly Christmas sweater, gold sparkling pants, and a pair of red heels with white stripes like candy canes...with spikes.
"Yeah you're getting her out of my room." I tell her and she just smiles devilishly, crossing one leg over the other, tilting her head to the side and twirling the end of her braid around her fingers.
"She'll come out on her own eventually." Lily waves me off.
Chase hides his amused smile in the rim of his coffee cup.
"Keep laughing buddy, cause you're next." Lily says and Chase pales slightly. I laugh at him.
I take a seat at the counter next to Chase and Lily slides herself across the counter on her stomach till she's over by me.
"So when's my new partner in crime going to get here anyway?" She asks me.
"New, partner in crime?"
"Well I mean you hardly count. Most of my crimes were committed against you." She says dismissively. "Brandon was my first partner in crime but even then I was mostly dragging him around against his will anyway."
"Another one of your many crimes." I mutter and she begins to poke me.
"Well when's he going to get here?"
I shrug. "He still has to finish healing, and Zero still needs to clear him for duty."
She lets out a groan. "Can't you yell at Zero again?"
"Not this time." I reply, shaking my head.
I have no doubt that's a conversation I wouldn't win, no matter how hard I tried. I'm not keen on trying to argue with Zero to put his son back in the field before he's finished healing, after he just got stabbed and poisoned...yeah that conversation would go beautifully.
"Why?" Lily whines. "I'm so bored."
"Go get Angel out of my room then."
"That's no fun."
"It's fun for me."
"But it's not fun for me."
Before I can say anything else, Angel comes stalking into the kitchen. Cody immediately moves behind the counter and Chase and me pull ourselves up till we're sitting on the counter. Lily grins, that mischievous glint never leaving her eyes.
"Angel!" She calls out in a sing song voice and to the shock of all of us, Angel actually moves towards Lily's voice.
Lily hops off the counter, landing in front of Angel and slides to the ground, sitting in front of her. She pats her leg and whistles like Angel's some kind of dog, and Angel comes walking over. She lays down, putting her giant head on Lily's lap and closes her eyes, like she's trying to sleep.
Lily leans down to where Angel's ears would be and whispers sweet nothings in her ear and places a kiss on her head, her hand stroking Angel like she's an over grown dog and not a giant evil demon gator.
The boys have a look of shock on their face that probably mirrors my own. When it's around Lily...it's actually an Angel. Lily grins at us.
"Unbelievable." I mutter, but I make no move to get off the counter.
"What's so unbelievable?" Lily questions. She places another kiss on Angel's scaly head. "She's exactly like I named her, a little Angel." She coos and it lifts it's head when she says it's name.
"That's not possible." Chase mumbles in shock, not taking his eyes off Angel or Lily.
I lean over so I'm closer to him. "It's got the same temperament as Lily...no wonder they get along."
"Do you want some breakfast?" Lily continues to coo, totally ignoring us and only talking Angel. Lily kisses it one more time before sliding herself away from it and getting to her feet.
"Alright Angel needs to eat. Which one of you are we feeding her today?"
Chase and Cody widen their eyes and look at each other before turning to look at me. Their eyes asking me if she's serious.
I hope she's not.
"I'm totally kidding." Lily waves off their panic as she walks towards the fridge. "You guys seriously need to learn how to take a joke."
She grabs a ton of packets of raw chicken breasts from inside the refrigerator. She takes a pair of scissors from the drawers and sits back on the floor next to Angel. She begins to open up the packets and toss the chicken into Angel's wide open jaws.
Cody, Chase and Me cringe every time Angel shut's her jaws with and audible snap. Forget Devin giving me nightmares. Lily and Angel are going to ensure I never sleep again.
"I'm changing the password to my room." I announce and Lily scowls at me.
"That's no fair." She mumbles as she tosses Angel another piece of chicken. "How I am I going to get in?"
"You're not. That's the point."
"Well you're out of luck then Chase." Lily says with a devious smile. "I can't get to either of them but your room doesn't have a password."
"It has a lock." Chase tells her, but there's a horrified look in his eyes.
"Do you really think I can't pick that lock?" Lily challenges. Chase pales. Lily laughs evilly. "Ready or not here I come." She mutters in a sing song voice that could easily be featured in a horror movie.
Angel's jaws slamming shut only adds to the effect and Chase winces, moving further along the counter away from both Angel and Lily.
"Lily." I speak up and she lifts her head up to look at me. "I had a nice little home made for that thing so that you wouldn't bring it into the house." I tell her.
"But she gets lonely." Lily says as she puts her hands under Angel's nose and lifts it up, planting a kiss on Angel's nose.
"I really don't think she gets lonely Lily."
"Uh yes she does. She misses me when I'm gone...I mean I guess I could leave her out there but then I'd need to get her a companion."
"She can stay in the house."
Lily shows me her devilish smile and mischief filled eyes.
"That's what I thought." She mutters as she continues stroking Angel's scaly head.

Thirteen's POV
A loud buzzing sound echoes throughout the house and everybody looks up at the speakers where it came from.
"What was that?" Cody questions and I hop off the counter, making sure to leave a wide space between me and Angel.
"Someone's at the gate." I reply.
I walk over to the front door and check the security cameras on the small screen above the keypad. I smile before punching in the code to open the gate. The minute the car makes it all the way through I close the gates again.
I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.
"We're going to have company in about thirty seconds!" I call out and I hear footsteps walk up behind me.
"Who?" Cody asks from behind me.
"Two people." I reply as I open the door and step outside just as the car pulls up. "One's welcome, and one's not."
The engine of the car shuts off and Zero steps out of the driver side, Devin getting out of the passenger side. He smiles when he spots all of us standing on the patio right outside the door.
"Look at you, you actually got a haircut." I tease.
He scowls playfully at me. "I blame you entirely for that."
I laugh and walk down the steps, meeting him half way and giving him a hug.
"I thought you didn't like hugs."
"I'm making an exception." I tell him as I pull away. "How you doing?"
Devin smiles. "Alright. Apparently strenuous activity is still not allowed, but I swear I feel fine!" He raises his voice at the end of his sentence so Zero can hear him.
Zero says nothing and I address him coldly. "Zero."
"Agent 13." He acknowledges me exactly the same way before getting in the car and driving off back down the driveway.
"Well I can see that you've apologized." Devin says jokingly. I scowl at him as Chase and Cody come over and give him a hug.
"Good to have you back man." Chase says and Devin gives him a thumbs up.
"Good to be back...even if technically I'm not really supposed to be doing anything as of yet."
"You'll be back to helping us out in no time." Cody assures him.
Devin falters in his steps for a second as he spots Lily, who's still decked out in her Christmas clothes. He shoots me a look of confusion. I shake my head as if telling him not to ask. He nods.
"Thank goodness." Lily says when she sees him. She hops down the steps and grabs hold of his wrist, dragging him into the house behind her. "I've been so bored, and playing with Angel only goes so far to sustain my boredom."
Devin stops in his tracks but Lily continues to try to pull him after her. He doesn't move an inch and shoots me a horrified look.
"Angel's here?" He questions. His face goes pale when I nod. I bite my lip to keep myself from laughing.
"If you don't start moving I'm going to kick you." Lily states. "And these spikes on my shoes hurt a whole hell of a lot more than they look."
"Miss Marshall please watch your language."
Lily leans into Devin and whispers loudly. "He still tells me please cause he has faith I'm not going to turn out like my brother. Plus he likes me so much more."
"You keep telling yourself that Miss Marshal." Lily scowls at Henri.
"It's true!" She protests. "I'm a perfect angel."
"You only look like an angel Miss Marshall. You are anything but."
Lily sticks her tongue out him childishly before dragging Devin off to who knows where.
"We should really be keeping an eye on those two." Chase mutters.
"No, we should be separating those two." Cody corrects him and I smile.
"Good luck with that one." I tell them. "I dare you to try to get in between Devin and Lily...cause you'll have to go through Angel."
"They walked into the kitchen...please tell me Lily can cook. Otherwise we should probably get in there before they burn down the whole house."
"I take offense to that." Lily says loudly when we walk back into the kitchen. Angel lays on the floor by Lily's feet. "I can cook."
Chase, Cody, and even Devin look over at me for verification. I shrug and wave my hand back and forth in a 'kind of' gesture. I move cautiously to the fridge and pull out a water bottle.
Lily scowls at all of us when she notices. "I'm hurt you look to Thirteen to answer questions about me. I can cook anything...if it comes in a box."
"Well that's a step up from Devin so I don't think we have to worry too much about them burning the house down." Chase mutters, taking the seat at the counter farthest away from Angel.
"Burning the house down would be the least of our problems. Those two together would start World War 3." I state.
"That's a brilliant idea!" Lily chirps. "Hey you still keep the nuclear bombs in the same place right?"
I spit out the drink of water I'd just taken from my bottle and turn to her with a horrified look my face. She just tilts her head to the side with a look of pure confusion on her face, as if she really cannot understand what she did.
"What?" She asks innocently while the boys stare at me, waiting for me to say something. "You do still have them right? I didn't think you'd ever use them...you didn't use them did you?" I barely manage to shake my head in response.
"You have nuclear bombs?" Devin questions seriously as he stares at me.
Lily looks between all of them in confusion. "You guys didn't know that?"
"Well I don't keep them here Lily." I hiss at her. "And why would I ever tell them, let alone anyone that?"
She shrugs. "I just figured since you seem kind of close to them you would've told them." She says simply as she shrugs again.
"And how exactly would that come up in a conversation?"
"Hey guys do you want to see the nuclear bombs, warheads, and experimental weapons I keep saved up for a rainy day?"
I groan and bury my face in my hands. I feel four pairs of eyes burning a hole into the sides of my head.
"Why do you have a bunch of nuclear weapons?" Devin asks while both Chase and Cody seem to shocked to talk.
This really shouldn't surprise them.
"Too long of a story." I grumble.
"Oh! I'll simplify it!"
"Lily-" I start in warning but she continues on as if I didn't say anything at all.
"So years ago we were having some problems with several different terrorist organizations getting a hold of some really dangerous weapons. Weapons that could potentially kill millions. Zero of course sent our team on the retrieval missions.
"Quite simply we were just supposed to steal the weapons without being spotted and bring them back the agency where they'd be disassembled and melted down, but Zero began to realize we could use the weapons ourselves and that did not sit well with Thirteen or her brother.
"So eventually we'd all get the place we were supposed the steal the weapon from, but there'd never be a weapon. The weapon would be gone before we got there. This happened over and over and over again. Turns out JD and Thirteen were going ahead of us, stealing the weapons and hiding them away where they themselves would disassemble them.
"But it's kind of difficult to keep up with taking them all apart so most of them are just collecting dust till little miss goody two shoes over here has the time to disassemble them herself." Lily finally finishes.
No filter. This girl has no freaking filter.
"I'm honestly waiting for the day one of the bombs just goes off on its own around the rest of them and then KABOOM! There goes the whole mountain and the three others next to it."
"Lily shut up." I hiss.
"That's what Garret and Lydia want isn't it?" Cody asks.
"Yeah." I mutter. "I've let a lot people die instead of telling them the location of the warehouse-or rather-bunker. What's in that bunker could kill millions if not billions. So if a few dozen people I care about half to die for that location to remain a secret...so be it."
It's quiet for what seems like an eternity...until Lily.
"Oh so that's why you never told them." She says. "Well that sucks, you basically just said you'd throw them to wolves if it came down to-OW!"
Lily rubs at the back of her head after Henri hits her, trying to shut her up.
"Not cool." She mutters. Her phone rings and looks at the number and smiles. An evil laugh echoes around the room as she answers the phone.
"Yes?...What do you mean? Of course I sent you to the right address...Yes, it's the one with white roses planted in front...No I was not aware the house was filled with various forms of venomous snakes..." She trails off and sticks her fist into her mouth to keep from laughing out loud.
"Let me guess, Agent 1?" Chase mutters and I nod with a smile on my face.
"Well if you didn't get bitten what are you calling complaining to me for?...Yes we're all in the house...You have to go past the venomous snakes...Yes, I already told you it's the right house...Why would I send you to another 'house of horrors' as you call it?..."
"I'm really beginning to feel bad for this guy, and I really hope he doesn't fall for that." Chase tells me.
"Are you calling me a liar?...We are all waiting for you upstairs and it would be nice if you joined us sometime this year..."
"If he is stupid enough to fall for that...I really don't think he'd be of much help to us." Devin says as he comes over to stand by me, making sure to avoid Angel who's still sleeping peacefully by Lily's feet.
"Of course we're not there what are you stupid?...Well at least you made it through the snakes. I'm impressed and judging by the look on Thirteen's face so is she...Yeah, yeah, yeah I'll give you the real address this time...No I did not say that last time...I said I'd give an address, not the address..."
I shake my head and laugh slightly along with Devin and Cody. Chase just rolls his eyes with a smile on his face as we listen to Lily.
"Do you really want to have a contest of who has the more colorful vocabulary you freaking piece of-"
"Miss Marshal." Henri calls out in warning. She smiles sweetly at him.
"You keep cussing me out and it's going to get really ugly very fast...Oh I dare you to call me one more name. You won't even make it up the driveway to the house before I blow you smithereens and do a rain dance over your shitty remains you son of a-"
"Miss Marshal, I warn you against finishing that sentence."
Lily hangs up the phone and stuffs it in her pocket. I smile.
"You're not going to send him the address?" I question, completely amused.
"He can suffer for a while longer in that 'house of horror' before I send him squat." She retorts hotly.
"Who is this Agent 1 guy?" Devin finally interjects and Lily turns her attention towards him.
"I don't know. New agent." She says simply as way of explanation.
"What makes you think we can trust this Agent 1 guy?" Cody asks.
"I-uh, I knew him before he was an agent...he's trust worthy...to an extent." I reply to him.
"And I already told you I corrupted him. It's all good." Lily adds it.
"We're all going to die." Devin mutters.
