Chapter 4

"Your last will?"

Tobias and Joanna exclaimed in unison. They were both shocked.

"Jenessa, why would you write that when you are fine?" Tobias immediately furrowed his brow, and he sounded unhappy. "Don't let your thoughts run wild."

"I didn't." I lowered my head, and my voice was soft, tinged with confusion and fear. "I just feel... anything might happen. Look at Jolie's illness, and I haven't been feeling well lately. What if something unexpected happens to me one day..."

I looked up, and my eyes were red as I gazed at them. "My parents passed away a long time ago. You are the closest people I have in the world. If I don't leave my assets to you, who else would I leave them to?"

My words completely dispelled their doubts.

What I said was right. I had no other family. Aside from them, I had no one else.

Naturally, everything I owned would eventually be theirs.

Joanna's eyes began to glisten with a greedy light, but she still feigned a refusal. "Don't say that. You'll live a long and healthy life."

"Joanna, just let me have peace of mind." I held her hand, like a child seeking protection. "Tobias, could you help me find a lawyer? I want to arrange everything before anything happens to me."

Tobias looked at me, and his expression was complex.

He was probably thinking that since I wanted to write my last will, I might also sign that donation agreement.

He was silent for a few seconds before finally nodding. "Alright. I'll arrange it."

He was very efficient. The next day, he arranged for a lawyer his company collaborated with, named James Norris.

Mr. Wang was a sharp-looking middle-aged man who adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and asked me in a businesslike manner, "Ms. Su, how do you plan to allocate your estate?" "Ms. Wright, how do you intend to apportion your assets?"

My assets were simple. A part of it was an inheritance from my parents, including an apartment downtown and some savings, and the other part was my savings from these years.

Tobias and Joanna sat across from me. They looked calm, but their hands were already tightly clasped under the table.

I cleared my throat and slowly began, "All my real estate, including the apartment my parents left me and the apartment I purchased after getting married, will be inherited by my husband, Tobias Wright, after my passing."

Tobias couldn't help but give a slight smile.

Joanna also leaned back on the sofa, satisfied.

"All my savings, stocks, and funds," I continued, "will also be inherited entirely by my husband, Tobias, after my passing."

At that moment, they couldn't hide their smiles any longer.

"But," I shifted the tone, "I have a condition."

Their smiles froze.

"What condition?" Tobias asked.

I looked at James and said each word clearly. "If Tobias chooses to marry another woman after my death, he will automatically forfeit all rights to inherit the aforementioned assets. All my estate will be donated to charity."

Tobias's face darkened instantly. "Jenessa, what do you mean by this?"

"Tobias, don't misunderstand." I immediately softened my voice and looked at him with grievance. "I just... love you too much. I can't imagine you will have another woman living in our house and spending my money after my death. Just the thought of that scene breaks my heart."

I clutched my chest, and tears fell at the right moment.

"Could you fulfill my last selfish wish, okay? Just to prove to me that your love for me is special."

My "heartfelt confession" left Tobias unable to argue.

If he refused, he would almost admit that he didn't love me and would marry another woman.

In front of James, Tobias could only grit his teeth and squeeze out a single word. "Okay."

Joanna's face had turned extremely unsightly.

I sneered inside.

Did they want my money? They could, but Tobias had to be single for the rest of his life.

After I settled my estate, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I relaxed completely.

I looked at Tobias and seemed casually to bring something up. "By the way, Tobias, about that organ donor registration I mentioned last time..."

Tobias's eyes lit up sharply.

"Since James is here, why not handle it today as well?"
