Chapter 1 Forced To Get Married

"Yana! How long will you stay single? You're already thirty-five years old, but you've never introduced a man to our extended family," Mrs. Lila exclaimed to her stubborn daughter.

"Oh, come on, Mom. That isn't very pleasant! Marriage and stuff like that are far from my mind," Yana replied irritably.

"But how long are you going to be like this, Yana? Are you waiting for Fred Levin, that old man, to divorce his wife before you marry him?"

"Mom! Fred is happy with his chosen girl. I still want to be on my own, not because of him. My future has nothing to do with Fred at all. So please, Mom, let's not talk about that!" Yana snapped angrily.

Yana Ilone Handoko is an independent woman who works in her family-owned company as the financial director. She once profoundly fell in love with a male college friend named Fred. Unfortunately, he only saw her as a regular friend. There was no special relationship between them.

Since then, Yana has been heartbroken over Fred. She had kept her feelings for him for years, hoping that her best friend would see her as more than just a friend.

"Mom, I don't care! If by the end of next month, you don't introduce a man to our extended family, don't blame me if I take strict action against you. I will arrange for you to be matched with a colleague's son!" Mrs. Lila threatened her daughter.

"Oh, come on, Mom! I will never agree to be arranged!" Yana tried to rebel and refute her mother's words.

"If you don't want to be arranged! Bring your partner to our house and introduce them to me, your father, and our extended family!" her mother said again.

"Why are you forcing me, Mom?"

"I don't want to hear any more excuses from you, Yana! Your father and I have been patient enough until your current age!"

"You're so annoying, Mom!" Yana shouted and started to leave her parents' house.

"Yana, where are you going? I haven't finished talking!" Mrs. Lila called out to her daughter.

But Yana ignored her mother's words. She kept walking out of the house.

The woman wanted to calm her troubled mind. Luckily, a while ago, she was invited to hang out at a bar with her friends.

Yana, who had never been to a bar before, followed her instincts this time. She vividly remembered her mother's demand for her to find a life partner, which made her mind even more chaotic.

Yana immediately drove her car through the streets of Jakarta that night. She was determined to accept her friends' invitation.

Meanwhile, at a bar in South Jakarta, a young man named Indra Aharon was celebrating his appointment as the new CEO of his family-owned company.

The man invited several business associates and colleagues to gather together at the moment.

"Attention everyone! On behalf of all my friends, I congratulate Bro Indra on his new position! Let's raise our glasses!" They did as instructed by Nino, Indra's close friend.

Everyone congratulated Indra on his achievement. The man is brilliant, so the shareholders entrusted him to be the CEO.

However, Indra's face at the moment does not reflect any happiness. It is because he is currently experiencing a deep heartbreak.

The woman he admired all this time is now someone else's. Anisa has married Fred, who is much older than her. Even Anisa's husband's company has increased. Fred has been serving as the CEO for a long time.

Unlike Indra, who just became the CEO a few hours ago. The man's heart looks troubled at the moment. To heal his heartache, he has been drinking wine since earlier.

"Bro! Don't drink too much! You'll get drunk!" Nino, his friend, warned.

In the same bar, Yana was gathering with her friends, spending a long Saturday night.

"Yana! Since when did you dare to drink wine?" Anggi, her friend, asked.

"Since now, Anggi. He-he-he." Yana grinned.

"Why are you like this, Yan? If you have a problem, you can tell me! What's wrong with you?" Anggi got annoyed seeing Yana like this.

"Yana! Stop it!" Cici exclaimed and forcefully took the glass of wine from Yana's hand.

"What's wrong with you guys? So annoying! You two are starting to act like my mom! Always telling me to get married! Am I a goat or something, being told to get married every day? Finding true love is not as easy as flipping a hand!" Yana scolded her two friends.

"Come on, Yan. You're so fierce, aren't you?" Anggi said.

"Anyway, we're worried about you. Because this is the first time you've had wine!" Cici exclaimed, reminding her friend.

"I am okay! Can't you see that I'm fine?" she said to her two friends, indicating that she wasn't drunk even though she had drunk a few glasses.

However, after talking at length to her two friends, Yana felt an intense headache and felt like vomiting now. It seems that she is starting to feel the effects of the drink.

Cici, who realized this, immediately said, "Yana! What's happening with you? Are you okay?" she asked her friend.

"I'm fine. I need to go to the toilet first, okay?" she told her two friends.

"Yana, I'll accompany you to the toilet, okay?" Anggi said.

"No, I can go by myself. You stay here. I'll be back quickly," Yana said, trying to stay conscious.

Somehow, her head feels heavy right now.

Indra, who has been drinking wine because of his broken heart, also excuses himself to go to the toilet. It seems that he also wants to vomit now.

In a hurry, Indra didn't realize he entered the women's toilet. The man then started vomiting due to the influence of drinking too much wine.

After finishing his business, Indra washed his face at the sink. But suddenly, he was stunned when he saw a woman he knew stumbling towards the toilet door.
