Chapter 6

Rose stood there with grievance as the wine glass shattered at her feet.

The broken glass cut her leg.

Tears lingered at the corners of her eyes, but she forced herself not to cry.

She quickly bowed to Dinah and said, "I'm sorry. Do you dislike me? I will leave now."

"Rose! Are you alright?" Jeffery rushed over in a panic. He carefully checked her wound before turning to glare at Dinah. "What on earth do you want to do? You decided to divorce me. Why are you hurting Rose? "I've told you she's just a friend."

Everyone looked at him in shock.

Jeffery walked over to Dinah in rage and slapped her hard across the face. "You must apologize to Rose now!"

He used such force that Dinah's face instantly swelled.

But she remained unfazed. She just stared steadily at Jeffery. "Are you sure you want me to apologize?"

She was in an unusually calm tone, but Jeffery instinctively felt uneasy.

Perhaps he had gone too far this time.

Dinah had never been angry with him before.

No matter what he did, Dinah always remained calm.

Jeffery felt great distress with that on his mind.

He wanted Dinah to care about him.

Now, he was almost succeeding.

With that thought, Jeffery asked Dinah to apologize to Rose again.

He secretly hoped to see Dinah angry, so he could be sure that he was special to her.

But he was stunned before he finished speaking. "Dinah, let go of Rose."

Dinah ignored his words. She was holding a piece of broken glass in her hand

and pressed it against Rose's neck.

"Rose, you can take everything from me, including the office, the house, and Jeffrey. But you shouldn't..." Her voice was as cold as ice as she continued, "You shouldn't stoop so low."

Rose had spiked the wine she handed to Dinah with a hallucinogen.

Dinah would never forget that taste.

That taste had taken away all her love, leaving nothing behind...

Jeffery grabbed Dinah's wrist. "Let go!"

He removed the piece of glass, and his blood mingled with Dinah's.

The hallucinogen had already taken effect.

Dinah looked at Jeffery's hand, and her face was pale. She trembled nervously. "Blood... it's all blood..."

Tears mixed with blood stained her clothes, but she didn't care at all. She frantically tried to stop the bleeding with her bare hands.

Jeffery was amused by her frantic demeanor and couldn't hold back his smile.

She still cared about him.

But Dinah's next words completely threw him off balance.

She gently cupped Jeffery's face with her bloodstained hands. "Jeff. Jeff. Five years have passed. You finally came back to see me."
