Chapter 5 5...A date...

{Diane}

One thing I have made note of when talking to Harry is that conversing with him isn't exactly something that puts you in the best of moods, but I have to talk to him, it is for the best.

I still find it hard to believe he agreed to be my boyfriend, demanding that I do his homeworks in return and I think that's fair enough, at least it's fair when it's Harry you're dealing with here. It's not like I have a choice but to accept every of his stupid terms and conditions.

"Diane!" A lively voice called my name in the cafeteria and I turned my face to the owner of the voice.

"Henry" I smiled at him.

He waved at me to come over to his table and I obeyed his hand gesture, smiling wider. Henry was the guy that would have been perfect as my boyfriend, but as my unlucky life would have it, I was gonna be dating his brother instead. His cold, mean brother.

I reached the table and saw Harley sitted there, also with a guy from the soccer team, and there was Harry, staring blankly at me. I darted my eyes to the girl next to him, Lena. She was clinging to him, literally pressing her whole breasts on his body. Eew.

Of course girls are gonna be around him, he is just gonna be fake dating me.

"Hi, Diane" Harley greeted, smiling softly at me.

The guy at her side who looked half Asian copied her action, but Harry didn't even acknowledge my presence. The dickhead acted like I didn't exist, same with his girlfriend and I can still remember Harley telling me he does not have a girlfriend.

"Hey, my Ladyyyy" Henry's friendly voice grabbed my attention. He held my hand gently to guide me to the empty seat next to him.

I glanced at Harry and the girl having her body all around him. He didn't seem to mind that the girl was pushing her cleavages closer for him to see.

I looked away from them. I don't think sitting at this table is really a good idea but I'm here already, I'm not gonna leave because of an asshole and his new girlfriend.

"So how are you?" Henry asked, wrapping his big arm around me, and that wasn't the first time he's doing that. I know he is nice but rumour has it that he likes me....romantically.

"I'm good" I said, accepting a chip from him with a grateful smile. "Thanks" I put the snack in my mouth and stole a glance at Harry but he wasn't even looking at me. He didn't seem to give a fuck about my presence as the girl beside him grabbed all his attention.

I cleared my throat and stood up. "Sorry guys, excuse me for a sec"

"Oh why?" Henry asked, holding my hand. "You just got here"

"Exactly" Harley supported.

I forced out a smile. "Yeah" I took a glance at my nice friend sitted alone at a corner. I could use his company right now "I just need to talk to Nelson real quick" I lied, taking steps away from the table.

Henry was displeased but he tried not to show it, grinning at me and waving.

I got to Nelson's table and sat beside him. "Hi"

He looked up from his food and beamed at me, adjusting his cute glasses. "Diane!"

I smiled back. "Can I sit with you?" I asked even when I'm already sitted.

"You're sitting already" He pointed out with a cheeky smile. "I don't mind though"

I laughed shortly "Alright, thanks"

I moved my eyes back to the table I was minutes ago, and saw that Lena still had her body glued to Harry's body.

"Do you want some?" Nelson asked kindly, getting back my attention.

"What?" I asked wide eyed.

Nelson gave me a studying look. "We can share" He said, gesturing to the tray on the table.

I shook my head, chuckling "Oh, no thanks"

"Okay" He dragged the tray back to himself "Why'd you leave your previous seat?" He asked, biting into his muffin.

"Oh" I bit my lip to think of a good answer "I just wanted to talk to you, it's been a while we did that"

"Talk to me" He uttered meaningfully, wearing a side smile "Or you left because of Harry"

"I....oh..." I stopped, my mouth hung open knowing he had caught me. I actually left because of Harry. "How did you know?"

"Because he is coming over here to see you" Nelson answered, staring at something at his front. Or someone.

I furrowed my brows "What? Coming over here to...." I halted my sentence when I glanced up and met Harry's cold eyes. "Oh"

He got to the table and stood with intimidation. "Hey, Nelson, can we switch tables? I need to speak with your girlfriend real quick"

Nelson glanced at my face questioningly and I gave him a clueless expression. He smiled at Harry who wasn't even a bit friendly with him. "No problem man" He agreed to Harry's request and rose from his seat, carrying his tray. "And she's not my girlfriend" Nelson added before leaving.

Good. Harry just made Nelson leave. He really knows how to bring out the rage inside me. "You know you can't just come to where I'm sitted and ask my friend to change his table"

Harry slipped into the empty seat beside me "He didn't complain"

"Still...."

"Whatever. He's gone now" He said like he was pleased with that, though he wasn't smiling.

I drew in a breath. "What are you even doing here? I thought you were having a nice time with your girlfriend" I said sarcastically.

"Just like you were having a nice time with your boyfriend" He threw back at me.

I scoffed. "Nelson is not my boyfriend, okay? We're just friends, good friends and I think everyone knows that"

He took a moment to stare at my face "Lena is not my girlfriend" He cleared up.

For some reasons, I felt chuffed hearing that from him. I turned my face fully to him. "Why are you really here, Harry?"

"I figured you wanted to say something to me but couldn't do that because of the people around" He said, combing his dyed hair sideways.

"Well...." He was kinda right about that. "You won't be meeting my dad this weekend anymore, he's going for a business trip tomorrow and he won't be back until next week"

He curved up lips and nodded. "Okay. Great"

"But you still have to come to my place" I told him fastly.

"Why?" He squeezed his full brows "Am I gonna be meeting your bodyguards instead?"

That was a stupid question from him "Not bodyguards, Harry. You will be meeting Julia"

"Julia?" He rose his brows. "Your mum?"

"Not my mum. My dad's wife" I corrected him sharply.

He penetrated his gaze into me and sighed softly. "Got it"

"Yeah" I breathed. "So you come to my place this weekend and take me out on a date"

"No" He rejected the idea instantly "Hell, no, Diane"

I breathed out "Listen...."

"I'm not listening"

That's another problem with Harry. He does not like to listen to me or anyone sometimes.

"Look it's not something real, it's just to make people believe this whole thing and talk about it. When the news gets to my dad, he would be impressed" I explained.

He eyed me. "It's not real" He mumbled.

"No, it's not"

He took his eyes away from my face to stare into space. "So anything else I need to know?"

"When Julia sees you taking me out, she would believe we are in a real relationship and that would keep her fucking trap shut"

He cocked his head to my side, and I knew it was because of my choice of words.

"Don't look at me like that" I said, annoyed.

He smirked before looking away. His face was directed to his previous table "You know Henry likes you right?"

I became motionless at his sudden and serious question. Henry really likes me? It's not just a rumour?

"Everyone knows that" He sighed, not sparing me a glance "Now that I'm gonna be doing this THING....with you..." He didn't say anything else. He kept quiet, his eyes fixed on the space afront him. I don't know what exactly he was feeling, but I can tell he wasn't really feeling good that he would be dating the girl his brother likes, fake or not.

There was silence between us for seconds before I broke it. "Why did you really do it?"

My question brought his face back to mine.

"Why did you agree to be my fake boyfriend" I whispered.

He flicked his eyelashes to the table, and back to my eyes. He opened his mouth to start talking but he hesitated then began. "I just thought I needed a story for myself as a popular model, you know, the rich Harry Michaelson, dating the billionaire's daughter, Diane Pierce" He said with a smug smile.

I rolled my eyes, knowing that wasn't the exact reason, but I still said an "Okay" to the trashy explanation he had given me.

He got to his feet, standing so tall that I had to lift my head to look at him.

"Text me the time before the end of today so as to know if it's not gonna be clashing with the shoot I have for the weekend" He said and left without waiting for my response.

Dick. Fucking dick.

****

Harry was coming over to my place to pick me up for our first date for this fake relationship.

I have changed my outfits seven times, seven good times, all because of my date with Harry. He better appreciate my effort, gosh, I'm the one who needs his help.

At the end I settled with something very simple since it's a first date. Knowing Harry and his tastes in things, he might pick a simple restaurant for this date. He does not like to spend much on things like that even when he's got lots of money he earns himself. His vehicles, his outfits, his phones, they show that he is not poor. To get those things, I would have to turn to my dad for help, but Harry obviously gets his things himself with his money.

Impressive.

There was a knock on my bedroom door and when I opened it, I saw one of the maids, she was a little older than I am. She gave me one of her respectful bows, her hands at her back. "Ma'am..."

"Diane" I corrected, slanting my head. I was tired of telling the people in this house that I should be called Diane, not ma'am, or madam, or Miss whatever. I like my beautiful name, thank you.

"There is a Mr Michaelson here to see you" She said, careful not to use my name. She still does not want to call me Diane.

Hold on, did she just say Michaelson?

"Harry Michaelson?" I asked, trying to keep my voice normal.

"Yes Ma...Dia...." She sighed "Yes"

I would have done my usual correction about my name or title, but I was too nervous to do that. "Okay" I drew in a breath. "Do I look...." I can't say beautiful, I mean I don't think someone like Harry would ever find me beautiful. "Do I look presentable?" I used the right sentence.

"Oh" She smiled politely at me. "You look very beautiful"

I showed my teeth in a smile. "Is Julia with him?"

"Yes, they are both in the living room"

I grinned mischievously. Time to meet my boyfriend and give my stepmother a show that would possibly give her a heart attack.
