By morning, Damian was at the table, sipping black coffee and scrolling through his tablet as if nothing in his perfect, controlled world had shifted.
Sienna sat opposite him, barely touching her food. She watched him carefully, searching for any sign of weakness.
"You're going out today?" she asked casually.
"Yes."
"Business?"
He glanced at her briefly, his face unreadable. "Always."
She rested her chin on her palm. "Do you ever get tired of lying to me?"
His eyes lifted to hers, sharp and calm. "If I wanted you to know, I'd tell you."
Her jaw tightened. "Maybe I already know more than you think."
Something flickered in his gaze, but he didn't answer. Instead, he set his cup down and stood. "Don't wait up for me tonight."
She watched him leave, her nails digging into her palm. She had no intention of waiting.
When Damian's car finally left the driveway, Sienna moved quickly. She went straight for the study once again.
She opened drawers, skimmed through files, flipped through everything she could find.
Finally, behind a row of thick leather-bound books, she spotted a narrow black box tucked away. She pulled it out, heart racing, and opened it.
Inside were photographs, documents, and a USB drive.
She spread the contents across the desk, her hands shaking as she scanned them.
The photographs were old, her father smiling with other men, including a much younger Damian. But in one picture, there was a woman standing next to Damian. She had kind eyes and a warm smile, her hand resting on Damian's shoulder.
Sienna flipped the photo over and gasped when she saw the name scrawled in neat handwriting.
"Elena Voss."
Elena. Damian's sister.
She shuffled through the papers, finding a letter that made her stomach twist.
"To Richard Calloway,
As agreed, the merger will push your shares up. But this will only work if Voss Industries collapses after the buyout..."
The rest of the letter was smudged, but Sienna didn't need to read more. Her father had betrayed Damian's family.
Her eyes darted back to the photograph of Elena. There were more papers beneath it, hospital records. She scanned them quickly, her heart breaking as she read:
"Patient: Elena Voss – Stress-induced heart failure – Passed away before surgery approval."
Sienna covered her mouth, realization sinking in. Damian's sister had died while his family was losing everything, likely because of her father's business betrayal.
Her hands trembled as she turned the next paper, another hospital document.
"Patient: Matthew Voss – Severe injuries from workplace collapse – Permanent disability."
Matthew Voss. Damian's younger brother.
Sienna sank into the chair, the weight of it all pressing down on her. Damian hadn't married her just to hurt her father's company. This was personal. Her father had ruined Damian's entire family.
She looked back at the USB drive, curiosity eating at her. She plugged it into Damian's laptop.
A folder popped open, revealing video recordings and financial plans.
One video automatically started playing.
It was Damian, standing in a dark office, speaking to someone off-camera. His voice was colder than she had ever heard it.
"The Calloways will lose everything, the same way we did. Every cent, every property. And when it's done, he'll know exactly what it feels like to watch your family break."
Sienna's hands tightened around the laptop as Damian's next words cut through the room like ice.
"And Sienna Calloway will stay exactly where I need her, by my side, smiling for the world, until the final step is complete."
Her chest tightened, anger and hurt surging all at once. She wasn't just caught in his revenge. She was part of his revenge plan.
The sound of the front door clicking shut snapped her out of her thoughts.
Panic shot through her. Damian was back.
She scrambled to gather everything, shoving the papers back into the box, but her hands shook too much. The USB drive slipped from her fingers, clattering against the desk just as the study door opened.
Damian stood there, his sharp eyes locking immediately on the scattered papers.
His gaze flicked to the USB drive still plugged into his laptop.
The room went dead silent. Sienna swallowed hard, her pulse racing.
Damian's voice was low, dangerous, when he finally spoke. "What did you see?"
Sienna lifted her chin, meeting his stare despite the fear clawing at her chest. "Everything."
His expression didn't change, but his eyes darkened, his jaw tightening.
"You shouldn't have done this, Sienna," he said quietly, almost like a warning.
She stood her ground. "You used me."
Damian stepped closer, slow, deliberate, his gaze locked on hers. "And now you know why."
"I'm not my father," she said sharply, her voice shaking with anger. "I didn't destroy your family. But you, you're destroying me."
He stopped right in front of her, his presence overwhelming.
"You don't understand," he said, his voice lower now, almost strained.
"Then make me understand," she whispered, her hands clenched at her sides.
For a second, something flickered in his expression again, guilt, pain, something human.
But then it was gone, replaced by cold aura.
"Stay out of this," he said finally, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"No," she said firmly, surprising even herself. "Because if you're going to burn everything down, Damian, I'm not going to let you do it alone."
His eyes narrowed at that, like he couldn't decide if he wanted to be angry or... something else.
The tension between them was thick and then, suddenly, Damian's phone buzzed in his pocket. He glanced at the screen, his expression hardening instantly.
"Change of plans," he muttered, his voice clipped as he turned for the door.
"Where are you going?"
He didn't answer.
"Damian!" she called after him, but he was already halfway out the door.
This time, she didn't wait for him to disappear completely.
Sienna grabbed her coat.
If Damian thought she was going to stay behind, he was wrong.
Tonight, she would follow him. Even if it meant stepping right into the heart of his revenge.
