Chapter Nine

Erika's POV.

He really looked so serious when he said that he was going to make me his in the end. I guess it would be so fun for me to torment him knowing fully well that I wasn't going to end up with him in the end.

"Why are you laughing? Is there anything funny in what I just said." He queried me while I let out a huge sigh.

"It looked like you are really determined to do it, and that is so cool of you. Let's see when you will give up."

I would never allow that to happen while I was still here. I lost my feelings for him, and there was no way that I would end up falling for him again. Furthermore, I did say anything for a while; our eyes bore into each other for a few seconds.

I was the first person to break eye contact, just like we did in the past. "You are still bad at keeping eye contact." He laughed so hard at me, and then I laughed also, since we all want to be crazy. He then let go of my wrists while I went to drop the plate right in the kitchen

I went back to my room. I was going to wait for my daughter to return so that we could go back to our house. Furthermore, I heard a knock on the door again: "I just left his place; why would he want to see me again?" I mumbled under my breath while I walked towards the door and then twisted the door knob.

"I came to give you this in case you want to bathe." He handed me a few clothes, which were my clothes from the past. How come it was still with him?

"You shouldn't get swayed by these things; his intentions are to make you to fall for him in the end, and you need to avoid it." My brain had to remind me of all his plans. "Thank you very much for this." I collected the clothes from him aggressively while I shut the door right on him.

I dropped the clothes right on the bed, before I went into the bathroom to take my shower, which I managed to do since I was still feeling pain all around my body.

Immediately I came out of the bathroom, my daughter was already awake. She was sitting up on the bed. "Mom!" She came down from her bed while she came to hug me immediately.

I bet that she really misses me. "Where were you? You came back home late last night. You lied to me that you were going to pick me up very early." She complained while I chuckled softly.

"I am so sorry, my love. Something urgent came up that I needed to attend you." I apologized to her while I hug her. "I'm coming." She excused herself while she ran out of the room. I bet that she went to see Charles.

I wore the clothes that he gave me, and they still looked so good on me. Furthermore, I walked out of the room after I was done dressing and saw my daughter eating already. That was so fast?

"Can I have a word with you, Charles?" I queried him while he left my daughter's side and came to where I was staying. I didn't want Rose to find out what happened to me yesterday.

"I am going to my house today. Thank you very much." That was all what I wanted to tell him. "Are you joking right now? Going to your house? After what happened to you yesterday? Don't you learn at all? Don't you get scared?" He held my shoulder while his eye bore into mine.

"Where do you want me to stay, then? Who told you that I was not scared? I almost got raped!" I whispered, making sure that my daughter didn't hear my voice.

"You can stay with me instead. I would make sure to do my best to protect you, and your daughter." He assured me.

Should I accept his offer or not? "When would I get to leave?" I muttered, but he heard what I said.

"I said I was going to look for their master. I bet that someone was involved in this. I would do my best to find out who that person is so that you would be safe." He told me while I nodded.

"I am going to think about it." I told him, and then I walked to the dining table.

"I just got another phone. I am so sorry for what happened." I was at David's office. After few days, I finally got back to work.

"Thank goodness you are safe now. Your life is more important than any fucking meeting or money. Thank goodness that he was there to save you. Charles almost went mad that day you went missing." David added while I gulped down all the contents that were in the bottle.

"What do you mean by that? He almost went mad because I was missing."? I questioned him out of curiosity.

"He started by asking your whereabouts. The city almost went in an uproar. He demanded the check all the camera routes in the city. He brought a lot of body guards, and police also followed him." He informed me.

"He is a keeper, so you should keep him." He told me while I shrugged my arm..

"Yes! About the project that is going on between our companies. I don't know if it would be okay for you to start working at Charles's company. I don't know if it would be comfortable for you." He brought up another discussion.

"What do you mean by that? I should start working at his company? I should leave yours?"

"That would be way more comfortable for both parties. Imagine going there almost every day, or him coming here. It would not be comfortable for you both. So I feel like it would be better if you started to work together." He explained it to me.

What would happen once I could start to stay with him in the same company? Why is everything bringing Charles and me closer?
