Chapter 4 Power

SIENNA

"Power suits me and I won't let anyone take it away from me."

I repeated those words like a mantra as I paced around my bedroom.

It barely been a week since Athena came back into my life and she is already driving me crazy.

She acts like she doesn't know it but I am pretty sure she does everything in her power to intentionally spite me.

Even Sebastian's attention on me has wanted. He never really gave me much attention after Athena left, but now, it's even worse.

He is always finding a reason to see under the guise of business.

They spend long hours in meetings and even when I am around, I see Sebastian barely glance my way. All of his attention was on Athena.

That bitch.

Why couldn't she just stay where she was?

Why couldn't she just die where she was?

Everything I had built over these five years seemed to be crumbling because of her presence.

This was supposed to be a jewelry for my mating ceremony.

It took five years after Athena left to finally convince Sebastian to hold the ceremony with me and even that wasn't easy. I literally had to resort to emotional blackmail.

Now, this bitch is here to ruin it.

Every day was now filled with regret at my decision to have my jewelry custom made by Valerian Jewelries. As well as asking for the CEO's personal attention. Considering how elusive she was, this was supposed to be my opportunity to show off to everyone, prove to them that I could get the things they couldn't hope to demand.

My desire to show off has now become my undoing.

It was almost comical.

As I slumped into my bed, I wondered what I could do to keep Athena away from Sebastian. I can't take back the contract. That ship has sailed long ago. The deposit had already been made and I was pretty sure Sebastian would refuse if I decided to ask for a refund.

Talking to Athena about leaving Sebastian alone was demeaning. That would be admitting that I was scared of her being him. It would mean I was insecure because of her. I would never admit that even in my death bed.

Skimming through my choices, I realised much to my disappointment that I didn't have much choices.

They were all quite limited.

I laid there for longer than I could remember before a ping of my phone informed me that I had a message.

I checked the notification and it was an email with the designs for my jewelry set.

As I viewed them, I couldn't help but marvel at the designs. The hype surrounding her business was no exaggeration.

The designs she gave me were both unique and creative. It was unlike anything I had seen before, and so masterfully drawn.

I was doubtful that this could ever be Athena's handiwork.

Unfortunately, the truth was clear.

I had seen her sketch the design a few days ago and she signed the finished design she sent me.

This was either her work or she had some creative genius working for her. Either way, it was her business and she was obviously great at it.

That fact irked me.

Those were things I never wanted to associate with Athena.

I never will.

I grinned as a plan etched itself in my mind.

I immediately sent the images to a graphic designer I knew and asked him to alter and sabotage the design in a way that was both both subtle and glaring.

It took only half an hour to get it back and I was quite impressed by his work. The sabotaged design was hideous, it was simply mediocre. It wasn't as unique as it was once and was masterfully altered to look generic.

Satisfied with these, I immediately hurried over to Sebastian's office in the house. He decided to work from home today, much to my good fortune.

This was proof that the goddess was by my side.

Once I reached his office, I bathed in without knocking, putting on my most distressed face.

Sebastian raised his attention from his work and cocked an eyebrow at me.

"What's the meaning of this, Sienna?"

I dropped my tablet in front of him as a reply.

"Those are images of the designs for my jewelry. Anyone could have designed this!"

Sebastian stared at it for a few seconds and frowned.

"That's not right."

"Of course, it isn't!" I yelled. "She is a fraud. I'm pretty sure she has been stealing her designs. These are cheap designs that can be gotten anywhere. I'm taking back my deposit! I want nothing with her company ever again!"

"No," Sebastian said as he produced his tab and showed me pictures of the original design that was sent by Athena. "Athena's company sent me these as the official designs and they are quite unique in my opinion."

I was left speechless at the sight.

That bitch!

Of course, she sent them to Sebastian as well.

I was lost for words for a bit as I picked up my tab.

"Oh," I said awkwardly. "I guess they're okay."

"I already gave them the green light to start working on production. I was sure you would like it. It even included elements of your name."

"Um, that's okay," I nodded as I walked away from him. "I'll be in my room. I'm tired. Someone must have played a prank on me."

Sebastian gave me a curious look but simply nodded.

"Okay."

I couldn't help the anger in my heart as I entered my room.

I will kill her.

That was the only other choice she has left me.

I would make her pay for this humiliation.

I took out a secret phone stashed away in my closet phone and called a number I had acquired long ago but haven't gotten to use.

The call was answered on the first ring.

"Speak," was the only word from the recipient.

"Athena Montgomery. Make it look like an accident. I want her gone by midnight."
