I knelt down still feeling extremely weak as my blood gushed out. Ranvir walked on fours in his full transformation towards me, each step bringing my hopes of survival down. "I have to survive this, I still have a lot to achieve. I can't die here. No! Not now!"
With the last of my strength I stood to my feet. I felt like a gorilla was placed at my behind. Ranvir began running forward, his dried blood soaked teeth on display.
I shut my eyes harnessing every energy in my body. As soon as he was up close, he stomped on my injured shoulder but at the same time i delivered three clean hits across his face.
He shook his snout and dived in again, swiping mindlessly at me. It was clear Ranvir had already gone. this was not him anymore. I moved my body in sync with the attacks dodging every death threatening strike that came my way.
I jumped on top of him landing on his back. He tried to shake me off. But with my transformed human legs I crossed his neck holding firmly to it. I bent downwards with a powerful strike to his tail, cutting it off in the process.
Ranvir seemed not to notice this as he was solely focused on getting me off of him. I had one last move to make and it had to count. At this point I was bleeding from almost every hole in my body.
I stood on Ranvir's back and leaped in the air with skillful precision, Ranvir looked up at me as I came down again. As I got nearer to his jaws, my claws grew longer and shot out of my hands.
"Goodbye, Ranvir the feared" I muttered as the strikes all came back and each struck his neck at once. His jaws were still opened while my hands stretched out and grabbed the head leaving the body to fall soulless on the ground.
It was ironic because at the end of the day his head did end up in my hands. My body was suddenly thrown into immeasurable pain as I gasped and fell to the floor. I knew what I had to do. "I have to do it again, it is the only way I can get through this alive."
My life was one I still couldn't understand, werewolves don't eat their fellow kind. They ate monsters that increased their physical capabilities depending on the grade. Werewolves were built to eat meat which they did. But for some reason I am able to eat other werewolves and my strength increases each time I do so. "Is this some kind of curse?"
I dragged my feet against the cold earth towards my enemy's corpse. I wasn't sure, it also could be a blessing. It's been twenty years of my life now and I discovered this last year when I faced my first enemy. I dug in, starting from the stomach, it tasted really nice in my mouth. No, it wasn't just nice, it was delicious, each drip of blood like the honey of the earth, I savored in delight but also in disdain as I ate through my own kind.
Something was happening again like the other times. My heart pounded louder, my injuries had already healed. "I can't stay here, my identity could be discovered."
I rolled myself across the ground to a hidden alleyway. My body was evolving again, getting stronger but this process wasn't one I could do in the middle of the street as it would leave me vulnerable.
"Ahhhh" my voice echoed through the quiet night from the cracking, joining and rejoining of bones happening in my body. Those fifteen minutes felt like an eternity of suffering, sometimes I forget I'm just a child but I guess in such a cruel world one can't expect any less.
Being a citizen of Bulgaria brings one to the harsh part of reality... the state of nature. It's all about survival of the fittest here. No one gives shit about you. If you aren't strong enough, you'll be prey to those willing to go to lengths to survive.
My eyelids were heavy at this point as the begged to be shut. I decided to obey the will of my body and closed my eyes.
After three hours, I woke up to the heavy downpour of the rain. The alley seemed to have hidden me quite well or maybe the gods protected me. As I stood to my feet feeling rejuvenated beyond bounds.
I yearned to let out some of this energy that filled my brim. I could tell now that I was stronger than before.
I sprinted covering more distances quicker than before. I looked at my own reflection when I reached a lake near the cities rear. I watched as my hair floated through the wind like musical notes moving in harmony, the shone a smarter black.
My jawlines got so refined and connected deeply with my skin as white as snow. "Well, this is an interesting upgrade."
"Zamora!! Our divine father, you've shown me today that you're on my side, you align with my own goals, principles and ambitions. I'll forever adore you!." I assured, my heart filled with gratitude towards the gods.
"Im sure they'll notice I'm not home, mother will definitely be worried" i sighed as I turned to the path that lead to my house. Blending through the shadows, I navigated the streets of Nevada the capital of Bulgaria.
My toes landed without a whisper in relative ease as I swept past buildings. I was in front of the door in less than three minutes. The door creaked as I opened it slowly, gently entering inside. I closed the door.
Not seeing anyone, I made my way to my room proceeding with caution. I quickly entered and closed my door, happy no one saw me.
"You're a standing corpse girl!." The voice said, exposing its fury.
