No, I'm not laughing, I'm crying. Positively sobbing. Am I sobbing or are my tear ducts just broken? Nah, I'm sobbing. At the edge of a breakdown really.

Why is there a freaking AC in the restroom? The toilet seat is fucking cold. Fuck. My face is freezing. Can't a man cry in peace?.

Why the hell are the walls of this cubicle gold-plated? I can see my bloody reflection. I look like my cat died. Then I found out on Google that it was just sleeping.

Sleeping deeply, like cats tend to do at times. Then I realized I buried a living cat. All because I was too broke to take it to the vet. I honestly would rather that happened.

Here's the thing, I might have signed that contract.

"I think there might be a mistake somewhere," I say confidently.

"Speak up", The devil sitting behind the desk says, staring me down. Ah, so I wasn't speaking confidently. What's the harm anyway? Can't a man mumble?. "Speak clearly so I can understand you", The devil really shouldn't look that good. Beautiful people give me performance anxiety.

"I couldn't have signed that document, I wasn't even in the right state of mind", I'm speaking as clearly as I can. Don't make eye contact! Do not make eye contact Sora! "Surely you can terminate it...", I can feel the weight of his judgement in the air, or maybe that's just his pheromones, it has me scrambling to make something up, come on brain...Work!

"What I mean is that I'm incredibly sorry to have disturbed you like this and to have wasted your time on my usele...ignorant self", I bow in apology. "Please forgive me".

"Raise your head", cold, clear, and concise. Such clear commands, befitting of an evil spirit. Like hell I'm making eye contact!.

"Please let me apologize to you, my actions must have deeply wronged you", I bow lower "I hope you find it in your heart...mind to forgive me". What heart?

"Would you like me to lift your head for you?"

"No sir, I'm sorry sir", back straight, head up, straight eye contact. Something in me withers and dies. My legs might be shaking. Someone, please help me.

"You are right you know, you didn't sign this contract in the right state of mind so by the law, it should be rendered null and void", The only thing betraying my surprise is one long blink. "But you see...".

Yup. Definitely. Like hell it was that easy. "...It doesn't matter anyway..." he gets up and walks around his desk slowly, eyes locked onto mine the whole time.

You see, omegas are taught not to look an alpha in the eyes for a long period. It's one of the 'if you want to live long as an omega...' rules, because alphas take any sort of eye contact as a challenge. You're taught that when you're young.

Or you learn that later in life, middle school to be exact, when your whole body feels like you've been through the grinder, when you're laying on the floor beside the dumpster at the back of school covered in bruises, (it's your first and last broken nose), after getting beat down by some alpha kid going through puberty you unknowingly challenged because you mistakenly kept eye contact. (Sadly, it's also not your last beat down).

Lessons like that don't leave you. They never really do. I wish I could just avert my eyes but I can't. I can't piss him off. At least any more than I already have.

"...Because you can't even go to court to reverse this...", he stands in front of me. A vision, standing tall, towering over me in his cream colored suit, his long brown hair tied into a knot at his nape, his eyes...his beautiful purple eyes peering into mine.

Pale, fingers tilt my chin upward. There are no calluses on his hands but he's strong. He's at the pinnacle of alphan society. He's dominant. There's a dark glint in those purple eyes that has my palms curling into the fabric of my pants to keep them from shaking. He won't kill you Sora, so man up.

He'll hurt you so much you'd wish you were dead but he won't kill me.

How is that supposed to reassure me? He's staring me down.

"...You don't have the means to take me to court", he leans in closer, I can feel the wisps of his breath on my face, "...even if you did, you'd never win". I can hear my heart beating, Is that supposed to happen? How is my heart still beating when I haven't even taken a breath since he got up from his seat?

He smiles. It's full of fang. Actual dominant alpha fangs. Holy shit! Those look fucking sharp.

He calmly lets go of my chin and takes some steps back. My eyes instinctively track his movements, "You can breathe Sorahiko, I'm not going to hurt you". I can't.

I can't breathe.

He tilts his head to the side, a move that seems instinctual, and he's studying me. My head feels fuzzy. He's moving towards me again...please stay back...he lifts a finger...I shut my eyes immediately. I can take it. I know I can. I can take pain. Let it just be quick. Please.

One moment, my eyes are shut and I'm waiting for some sort of pain. Another moment, I'm doubling over and coughing my lungs out because this absolute bastard just jabbed my throat with his finger.

"You can't die when I haven't even had any fun with you". My throat is burning, I repeat, this bastard jabbed me in the bloody throat!. "Let's start this again Sorahiko, I've reviewed your application and I've decided you're a perfect fit for my company".

I'm wheezing. Is my throat broken? Is that even possible?. "You have signed the contract stating our agreement for your humble self to serve as my secretary". Someone, please kill this bastard. I think I might throw up all over his shiny shoes. I can't stop coughing.

"You are to find my CFO to finalize your salary and work benefits and give you a rundown of your duties and a copy of my schedule, Am I clear?".

Yeah, sure, excuse me while I cough my fucking lungs out. I'm suddenly yanked up by the collar of my shirt. What the actual fuck??. I'm too stunned to even cough.

"I said, am I clear Sorahiko?".

When I got that email about the lawsuit for the breach of contract, I should have just stayed home and reported it as spam. Yeah, I'd have been sued to hell and back but I wouldn't have to deal with this crazy bastard. I don't even remember signing the bloody contract!.

I've only ever worked as a secretary for a small food business. And it closed down within the first six months. I have no idea what I'm doing but his hand is on my freaking collar holding me up, his pheromones are spiking and my feet are barely touching the ground. So I say the only thing I can.
