CHAPTER 3

LIANA'S POV

That day I locked myself in my room and cried.

Then at night, when everyone was already asleep, I heard a knock on my door. I knew who it might be, so I didn't answer.

"Liana," he said.

I stayed silent.

"Open the door."

"Get out!" I snapped angrily. I didn't want him to hear the pain in my voice.

"I need you, Liana. Please... before I lose my damn mind." He said, his voice trembling with desperation.

"I said get out!" I shouted louder.

For a while, I didn't hear the sound of his voice and I thought he had gone. It wasn't until he turned the knob of my door and it opened that I realized he hadn't left.

"Killian. Please just go," I said. "Just go."

He stepped into my room and walked straight to me. I stood up from my bed and tried to push him out with all the strength I had left, but he was just too strong for me.

"Don't you dare," I whispered as I pushed him again. "Don't you dare come near me."

He caught my wrist and yanked me closer with a soft thud, then crashed his lips on mine.

I gasped. No, no, no. I shouldn't be doing this.

I fought him with my hands but his grip on me tightened as he deepened the kiss before releasing me and pressing his forehead on mine.

I pulled away from him and pointed my fingers at him angrily.

"You have a fiancée‚ Killian!" I screamed. "How dare you kiss me?!"

I pushed him away.

"Leave! Leave my room!"

He didn't answer.

"You're engaged. You brought her here. Dad and Mom have blessed your engagement. She's perfect. She's beautiful. Why are you doing this? Why are you still coming to me?"

He still didn't answer.

"You said it was a mistake, I've accepted that. I'm trying to move on. I've met someone. Someone I'm starting to fall for."

He growled and yanked me to him. I could see the rage and anger in his eyes. His jaw was clenched tight.

"You will never have anyone," he growled. "Do you hear me? You are mine. You'll always be mine."

I scoffed, pushing him off me.

"You're delusional. You have a fiancée and I can't move on? What more do you want from me,huh? Haven't I already given you everything?! Why can't you just leave me the hell alone?!"

He stared at me. I could see different emotions flickering in his gaze.

"I own you, Liana!"

I ripped my hand away. "You don't own me. Get out!"

I turned to the door and tried to open it, but he grabbed me, and I couldn't resist him.

Then it ended.

"Don't marry her," I found myself saying as I held him close. "Please. Be with me. I'll be

anything. Your secret. Your side girl. Just... just don't marry her."

He was silent.

"Killian. I have something to tell you..." I began, wanting to tell him about the baby.

But before I could even speak, he stood up.

"Killian-"

"Don't," he cut me off. "Don't say anything."

"It's... it's important-"

"Nothing is more important right now than marrying her," he said.

"Why..?" I asked, my voice cracking.

He looked at me. His expression was icy and cold. No trace of what just happened.

"Don't ask me why. You won't like the answer."

And then he left, slamming the door behind him.

My heart shattered.

Tears streamed down my face.

He had used me. Again.

Why did I let him?

Why? Just why..?

I stared at the mirror. My eyes were red. My hands were shaking. I placed a trembling palm on my stomach. On the soft curve that didn't show yet... but soon would.

His baby.

"I'm sorry, baby," I whispered, my voice breaking.

More tears streamed down my cheeks, but this time I wiped them away.

No. I wasn't going to let this keep happening.

I wouldn't let him use me whenever he pleased.

If I stayed, I'd let him ruin me again.

But if I left, if I disappeared, he wouldn't be able to find me.

I dried myself off and walked back into my room. My body felt sore. My heart was empty, but I moved anyway.

I opened my closet, pulled out a duffel bag and started packing. I threw in a few clothes, some cash and every necessity I needed.

I had to run. I had to leave.

Killian didn't love me. He was obsessed with me.

He didn't want me.

And he definitely didn't want this baby.

How would I face Dad when the pregnancy began to show?

How could I look Mom in the eyes?

How would I tell them I was carrying Killian's baby?

This family would be destroyed because of our mistake.

Dad would blame himself. Mom would blame her son. The life they've built... would crumble.

And I couldn't do that to them.

No. No. I couldn't keep staying here. Not like this.

I had to leave.

For my baby.

For our future.

So I did.

I didn't say goodbye.

I didn't leave a letter.

I just left.
