Chapter 4 Sally

" I don't know what to do."Pam said.

"why don't you find a way to contact your fiancee and tell him about your situation." I suggested.

" I can't do that." She looked away.

I became suspicious" And why is that ?"

" Because Cisco threatened to harm him if I tried to seek his help. That's why I'm coming to you."Pam said in anguish.

I furrowed my brows, something doesn't add up here." Are you trying to say that your fiancee hasn't called you for the past two weeks."

" Well.... he has."she finally replied reasonably.

" Soo....?what did you tell him about your whereabouts?"

She sighed heavily." Cisco made me lie to him the first time he called,I told him that I was attending a distant relative's funeral in Asia and I would be back before our wedding."

" Wow !!..... I have to hand it to him, he's really good at lying."

"Sally you have to help me soon." She took hold of my hand again and squeezed it . "I have to get back to Nigeria for my wedding,he was already really mad at me for not informing him before I left the country ......I can't afford to lose him.I don't want this marriage." Tears flowed down her cheeks as she pleaded.

" It's ok, I'll help you after you tell me how you met my husband."

I saw hesitation in her eyes before she spoke.

" I came to England to buy my wedding dress and I ....". She paused and sniffed ,she then stood straight and wiped the tears on her face.

" I saw him outside the shop......his car had just broken down , his driver was finding it hard to repair and it seemed like he was running late for something . I felt pity and since my hotel was not far from the shop I offered the taxi I hired and he gladly accepted,we ended up exchanging phone numbers and he called me later to thank me for the help I offered him."

If it were any other case ,I would have slapped her across the face . She exchanged numbers with him. That's so ironic.

" That was the last time we talked until he showed up in Nigeria, demanding that I become his wife."

I was more than confused not knowing whether to believe her or not. It just doesn't make any sense.

"How did he know you live in Nigeria? Why did he beg you to marry him?how did he even know where to find you in Nigeria ? how did he know the exact place to find you ?" I asked bewildered.

Has Francisco been stalking her ?

" To all your questions ....I ..don't ..know."

Cisco was a very cunning man,I knew that . In fact all men were cunning . Even my mother didn't approve of our marriage ,She had never liked him but We got married in the end.

My mother once said that she saw greed and selfishness in Cisco and he was only after our wealth. She said that he probably wanted to marry me so that he would have access to our money and then one day he would kick me out after gaining full control.

I never paid attention to her ,I thought she was just one of those desperate mums trying to marry their daughter off into a prestigious family.

Cisco was just a regular and ordinary man. I was the one with all the wealth and luxury and so my mum wanted me to marry some rich guy.

She had been angry that I turned down all her arranged marriages and blind dates for Cisco .

But now ,my mother's words were ringing in my ears.

Was Cisco trying to dupe me?or did he marry Pamela so he can kick me out later and take over my wealth?

I found it had to believe because we had been married for ten years . If he really wanted to dupe me then he should have done it long ago.

I sighed ,trying to figure this out was tiring . As for Pamela,He must have been following her or sent someone to keep track of her every move,because that was the only way he'll know where she lived.

I didn't know what to do or think . He already married again,he could do worse so the best thing to do now is try to help Pamela out before focussing on ruining Cisco .

"Pamela we will have to work together if we want to find out Cisco's plan and if you want to return to Nigeria for your wedding. I also don't think it's safe for us to talk here." I paused and rubbed my forehead , I was starting to have a headache.

" Okay here's what we'll do.......we will go somewhere safe to talk properly,who knows he might have cameras around to keep an eye on you." I continued as she looked around instinctively.

" You think he has a plan?" Pam asked with big round eyes staring at me.

" Dumb ass off course he has something up his sleeve,why else would he follow you to Nigeria and force you to marry him." I screamed in her face .

Was this woman so dumb ?

I was already getting tired and was about to dismiss Pamela when i saw Cisco heading towards our direction. I blinked multiple times to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me. I made up my mind to go into my room and just ignore him but the next second I changed my mind and decided to see What would happen. And so I stood there and stared at the man i once loved who had broken our vows.

I tired keeping a blank expression on my face but I couldn't. My hands started trembling as I felt a mixture of anger and pain.

Was he still going to act like nothing happened? Like I wasn't affected by what he did . Like he had done nothing wrong,like he hadn't cheated. He was a white man ,so I couldn't understand why he married again and acted like everyone was cool with it .

"Ohh.....you two are getting along already." he spoke as he got closer to where we were standing.

There was no response.

" Pamela do you need anything."he asked.

" Uhh..... No .. am fine."she replied blushing.

I didn't fail to notice the red spot on her cheeks ,I started getting suspicious. She was supposed to be angry not blushing, what was there to even blush about?

" if you need anything or if anyone is making you feel uncomfortable just let me know ,okay?" Cisco said while looking at me in a nasty way before walking away.

I felt a lump in my throat. What he said hurt me to the core of my bones.

So I was now the villain. Within just one day , everything changed . The loving man I once called my husband was now completely gone . Was it even possible for someone to change so suddenly?

If I didn't leave now then Pamela might see my tears. I didn't want that so I simply told her that we'll talk tomorrow and then I slammed my door shut.
