Chapter 5 Unholy

When Lily came to, she was disoriented and confused. She was lying in a bed, but it wasn't her own. The room was unfamiliar, with walls covered in old portraits and furniture that seemed to belong to another era. She sat up, trying to remember how she got there. But her memories were hazy, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

As she looked around the room, she noticed a figure standing in the corner. It was a woman, tall and gaunt, with eyes that seemed to bore into Lily's soul. "Who are you?" Lily asked, trying to keep her voice steady. The woman didn't respond. Instead, she began to move closer, her eyes fixed on Lily. Lily tried to scramble out of bed, but her legs felt heavy and unresponsive. The woman reached out a bony hand and grasped Lily's wrist, holding her in place. "You shouldn't have come here," the woman hissed, her breath cold and rank. Lily tried to struggle, but the woman's grip was like a vice. She felt a wave of darkness wash over her, and everything went black. When Lily came to, she was back in her own bed, surrounded by the familiar comforts of her own home. But something felt off. The room seemed different, the shadows cast by the furniture seeming to twist and writhe on the walls. She threw off the covers and got out of bed, determined to shake off the feeling of unease. But as she looked in the mirror, she saw something that made her blood run cold. The woman from the mansion was standing behind her, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. Lily spun around, but there was no one there. She turned back to the mirror, and the woman was gone. But the message remained, scrawled on the mirror in letters of blood: "You'll never escape." And with that, the darkness closed in around Lily once more...

Lily stumbled backward, her eyes fixed on the mirror. She felt a presence behind her, but when she spun around, there was no one there. The room seemed to be closing in on her, the shadows deepening and twisting into grotesque forms. She tried to run, but her legs felt heavy and unresponsive. The mirror seemed to be pulling her back, drawing her into its depths. She felt a cold, clammy hand grasp her shoulder, spinning her around to face the mirror once more. The woman's face stared back at her, her eyes blazing with an otherworldly fury. Lily tried to scream, but her voice was frozen in her throat. The woman's face began to change, her features contorting into a twisted grimace. Lily felt herself being pulled into the mirror, sucked into a vortex of darkness and terror. She tried to resist, but it was too late. The mirror seemed to be shattering, the glass exploding outward in a shower of shards. And then, everything went black. When Lily came to, she was lying on the floor, her head throbbing with pain. The room was silent and still, the only sound the quiet ticking of a clock. She stumbled to her feet, looking around in confusion. The mirror was still intact, its surface smooth and unbroken. But something was off. The room seemed different, the furniture rearranged. And on the wall, a message was scrawled in blood: "I'm still here." Lily knew then that she was trapped, caught in a living nightmare from which she might never awaken. The mansion, it seemed, had her in its grasp, and it would never let her go...

Lily stumbled backward, her eyes fixed on the message. She felt a cold dread creeping up her spine, as if the mansion itself was alive and watching her. She tried to run, but her feet felt heavy, as if they were rooted to the spot. The room seemed to be closing in on her, the walls pressing in on her from all sides. And then, she heard the whispers. Faint at first, but growing louder, more urgent. The voices seemed to be coming from all around her, echoing off the walls. "Get out while you still can," one voice whispered. "You shouldn't have come here," another voice hissed. Lily spun around, trying to locate the source of the whispers. But there was no one there. The voices seemed to be coming from the walls themselves, from the very foundations of the mansion. She knew then that she had to escape. She turned and ran, dashing out of the room and down the hallway. The whispers grew louder, more frantic, as if the mansion itself was trying to stop her. She reached the front door and flung it open, revealing a dark and stormy night. The wind howled and the rain lashed down, but Lily didn't hesitate. She ran out into the storm, not stopping until she was far away from the mansion. But as she looked back, she saw something that made her blood run cold. The mansion's windows were glowing with an otherworldly light, and the whispers seemed to be carrying on the wind. "We'll always be with you," the voices hissed. And Lily knew that she would never be free from the mansion's grasp...
