Chapter 5 Married !

Kissing Rowan made me have my eyes closed so I couldn't tell how Lewis was reacting to the situation.

But one thing was sure – he wasn't comfortable with the closeness and contact with Rowan.

Rowan reciprocated the kiss willingly and I had to continue doing what I hated most – kissing a complete stranger!

What could be worst than having a baby for a stranger anyways?..

"You think it's gonna be easy letting this slide?! Trust me, I'm going to make you pay!" I suddenly heard Lewis say in a loud voice..

For a second, I didn't know who he was referring to.

Me or Rowan?..

I broke the kiss to catch my breath and thankfully, Lewis was no longer around.

I was just left with the aftermath of the situation and then –

Oh yes!

The annoying people around who wouldn't stop making sounds of camera clicks and giving flashes of lights the acesss to have it's dominion.

I spared them a glance that only lasted for a second before reverting back to Rowan.

"Anna, I can't –"

"Sorry but forget that something like this happened and I can't marry you either"

We both spoke at the same time but he actually paused to hear me

However, when he attempted to speak again – even after I was done, I didn't wait to listen to him, I proceeded to leave instead.

"I'm still talking to you Anna!" He pulled me back by the wrist, stopping me from taking anymore step.

"You can't deny me of the right I have over my child!" he reprimanded, without yelling though.

"I am not interested in keeping it! Don't you get it!" I yelled.

Yelling wasn't intentional. It was just so painful that I could kiss another man right infront of the man I'd loved all my life without him being possessive.

So I couldn't help transferring aggression.

"I'm ready to pay, I already promised" he said again and that got me more mad.

"I'm not moved by any penny you have, okay?" I said firmly and with that, I forcefully released myself from his firm grip.

Heaven knew my heart was so shattered at that point.. and I knew better than letting him get me more mad.

"Don't let us meet again," became the last word I said before running off.

I ran like he was going to chase me, leaving murmurs on the lips of everyone around..

"Annabelle! You can't leave!" I heard him yell as I moved but I refused to stop.

The baby can't be left to exist!

Can he just get that into his skull?

I couldn't be more grateful when I spotted a cab dropping someone off right infront of the pharmacy and without hesitation, I got in quickly..

"Increase your fucking speed" I yelled at the driver when I felt like he was too slow for my liking and since I was the client here, he just had to obey me.

All I did on getting home was cry my eyes out while reminiscing on all that had happened.

"He's rich, you can give him a chance!"

"It's just a contract marriage to watch his child grow, no strings attached!"

"What if he files a legal case against you for escaping with his baby?"

"What if you die while trying to have an abortion?"

"Just birth him the baby and let him pay you off!"

My heart literally reeled with a million suggestions and questions as I cried..

And everything kept contributing to my terrible headache.

I really had no idea when I slept off ..

Naomi scream woke me up that evening and at first, I panicked, thinking it was a fire alarm until my eyes caught her standing right infront of the couch where I was laid with her eyes glued to her phone.

She has obviously just returned from work.

"Hey, you scared me" I sighed, getting up and feeling my eyes so bulgy..

Her eyes on the other hand were widened as if she had just seen something so shocking..

"What is it?" I asked, watching her continue staring at the phone as if her eyes were already glued to it.

She finally raised her head and it was then I realised her mouth was also widely opened.

"Talk to me? Is anything wrong?" I asked, getting scared.. especially because I'd realised that she dropped her bag already..

Had she lost a huge amount?..

Or had gotten implicated?

Either way, anything that happens to her would surely tell on me!..

"Boss didn't come to work today" she finally began speaking..

"Okay?" I said curiously, wondering how that mattered.

"It's unusual, he's always at work despite being the CEO!" She spoke again.

I sighed impatiently.

"Just go straight to the point"

"He didn't come because he was somewhere kissing you!" She replied immediately.

I wasn't done processing those words in my head when she turned her phone's screen to me..

I froze when I saw the video of our kiss going viral just as I predicted earlier..

Worst, it was with the hashtag - "CEO ROWAN FINALLY GOT HIMSELF A WOMAN!"

HE WAS HEARD SPEAKING ABOUT PREGNANCY!

HE'S PROBABLY EXPECTING A CHILD TOO!..

"My goodness " i muttered, seeing millions of likes and comments on the post.

He must be very popular then!

"Care to explain this?" Naomi asked, looking somehow disappointed.

"You have an affair with my boss, yet I never knew? Didn't you just get divorcd with your husband?" She bombarded me with questions I couldn't bring my self to a answer just like that.

"Trust me, it's not true! I'm not pregnant and I don't even know him!" I lied.

What was I supposed to do anyways?.

"So you just kissed someone you didn't know?" she scoffed.

"I saw my ex and I wanted to make him feel jealous, nothing else. I promise" I tried to make her understand..

"Make me feel jealous? do you even know the implications of what you did, especially now that the pregnancy rumour is flying?" she demanded.

"What?" I blinked.

"Chairlady Milton, his mum, has been tagged to the video and once she comes online to see it, you can't escape -"

Her words were interrupted by the sudden ringing of her phone..

"Hello sir? Just left the office now, any problem?" She asked.

"The chairlady made a declaration now! Her son is getting married immediately! We have all been tasked to find his woman within twenty-four hours" An unfamiliar voice said from the other end of her call..

I froze on hearing that..

I was getting married?!
