Chapter 4 A Deal for Vengeance

In her dream,

Donna saw herself slowly running toward her-

Her face is clearly bewildered, her voice rising uncontrollably.

"Why are you living in my body? Who are you?"

The question was muddled, far from articulate, yet Donna instinctively understood what the girl meant.

She blinked, trying to offer a vague explanation.

"My name is Donna. Don't be hostile-because honestly, I have no idea what's going on either."

"I was pushed down a staircase and died... just a few days ago. When I woke again, I thought maybe I'd been given a new start. But I don't know why I've ended up in your body."

Donna quietly recounted the events of her previous life. The girl listened intently, brows furrowed with focus. When the tale ended, she pursed her lips and cursed under her breath.

"That's so messed up. Men-honestly, they're all trash."

It was a bit of a sweeping generalization, and perhaps unfair, but Donna said nothing in return.

"He might even be worse than my b*st*rd of a fiancé," the girl added with a scoff.

She clicked her tongue in frustration, sighing deeply before slowly beginning to share her own past life with Donna.

Only then did Donna learn her name-Bonnie.

She was the eldest daughter of a billionaire family, born into immense wealth, a true heiress to a financial empire.

But Bonnie had fallen hopelessly in love with Randor-her fiancé, a despicable man.

He used her to grow his company into a powerful empire, all while having an affair with his secretary, with whom he even had a child.

He desperately wanted to be with the secretary, yet he couldn't bring himself to give up the immense wealth that came with marrying into Bonnie's family.

So he kept up the charade, continuing to deceive her-going through with the engagement and wedding.

"Then that b*st*rd told me he was in the final stages of kidney failure," Bonnie said through gritted teeth.

"He claimed he needed a transplant to survive-and it just so happened that my kidney was a match."

Thinking back on it made Bonnie's temples throb with fury, veins bulging with rage. She let out a bitter laugh.

"I was stupid enough to agree to donate it, not knowing the whole thing was a setup. A twisted plot by Randor to have me die on the operating table."

"After that-" her voice trembled, "-my parents, overwhelmed with grief, got into a fatal car crash. Both of them died."

"My younger sister was left all alone, with no one to protect her. Randor, pretending to be a grieving brother-in-law, forced her to drop out of school and marry some rich old billionaire-one who already had three ex-wives."

"In the end... My sister got into a fight with that billionaire's mistress. It wasn't long before she fell from one of the upper floors and..."

Bonnie couldn't finish the sentence. Tears streamed freely down her beautiful face, her heart twisting with anguish.

"In the end, that foolish husband Randor smoothly inherited the vast fortune of my family, living happily ever after with his mistress and their illegitimate child."

"I cannot accept this."

Bonnie clenched her fists tightly. Upon hearing about Bonnie's fate, Donna could only sigh in silent sympathy.

Indeed, it was a pain no less tragic than her own.

Both had perished in agony-because of the same kind of despicable man.

"Perhaps fate saw how alike we were-consumed by hatred so deep it tore through our souls-and thus brought us back to this world. We can't afford to waste this second chance."

Donna gently squeezed Bonnie's hand, offering her quiet comfort. Bonnie nodded.

Fate had granted her the chance to start over, and she was determined not to repeat the same mistakes.

"But it seems we can't return to our original bodies... What do we do now?"

Bonnie sighed, her expression clouded with worry. Without her original body, how could she exact the revenge she so desperately longed for?

"We can make a pact. Help one another take revenge on the scumbags who destroyed us, and live the happy lives we were meant to have."

Donna turned to Bonnie, giving a firm nod of agreement.

They might not be able to achieve vengeance on their own, but together-they could.

If fate dared to play tricks on them, they would still face it head-on, hand in hand.

Bonnie's eyes lit up as if she had just grasped a profound truth. She nodded repeatedly, then reached out and held Donna's hand.

"Exactly. We can help each other, darling."

Now that a direction had taken shape, they began to plan in earnest.

Bonnie laid out the timeline in vivid detail-the sequence of events from her previous life.

She spoke of those around her: who had been kind, who had betrayed her, and whom she could truly trust.

Donna did the same.

They confided in each other, sharing not only the past but also their carefully devised plans for revenge.

They sat together for a very, very long time.

And when their conversation finally drew to a close, their eyes gleamed with excitement.

"To a successful partnership. Let's keep in touch and update each other regularly," Bonnie proposed with a lively grin.

"Whether in dreams... or the real world."

Donna gave a resolute nod.

The plan had begun.
