Lyra and Aria sprinted through the winding streets of Eldrida, their pursuers closing in. Lyra's heart pounded in her chest as she dodged market stalls and leapt over obstacles. Aria yanked Lyra into a narrow alleyway, and they paused to catch their breath. "We need to get out of here," Aria whispered, her eyes scanning the rooftops. Lyra nodded, her mind racing. "I know a place," she said, already moving toward the alley's exit. They emerged onto a bustling street, weaving through the crowds as they made their way to the city's famous Blacksmith's District.
Lyra led Aria to a nondescript door hidden between two larger buildings. "Welcome to the Red Griffin Inn," Lyra said, pushing open the door. Inside, the inn was warm and welcoming, with a fire crackling in the hearth. Lyra and Aria slid onto stools at the bar, ordering ale and food as they caught their breath. As they ate, Aria revealed that she had been working with Kieran, Lyra's brother, to bring down the Order of the Veil from within. "Kieran is a double agent," Aria explained. "He's been feeding us information and helping us sabotage the Order's plans." Lyra's eyes widened in shock. "Why didn't he tell me?" she asked. Aria's expression turned sympathetic. "He was trying to protect you, Lyra. The Order is ruthless, and Kieran knew that if they discovered his true loyalties, they would stop at nothing to silence him." As Lyra and Aria finished their meal, the inn's door burst open, admitting a chill wind and a hooded figure. "Lyra," the figure called, its voice low and menacing. "We've been waiting for you." Lyra's heart sank as the figure stepped forward, revealing a shocking identity.
