Chapter 6 The Revelation

Chapter 7: The Revelation

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. My mind reeled as I tried to process Ngimanchi's words. "What do you mean your sister isn't even sick?" I asked, my voice shaking with anger and confusion.

Ngimanchi shrugged, a look of indifference on her face. "I needed money, and I knew you would give it to me if I told you my sister was sick," she said, her voice devoid of emotion.

I felt a wave of anger wash over me. "You've been lying to me all this time?" I asked, my voice rising. "You've been using me for money, and I've been blindly giving it to you?"

Ngimanchi nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Yes, I have," she said. "And it's been easy. You've been so willing to help me, so willing to believe whatever I tell you."

I felt a deep sense of betrayal. I had trusted Ngimanchi with my heart and my wallet. I had thought we had a real connection, but it seemed like it was all just a ruse to get money out of me.

"What's been done with the money?" I asked, my voice cold and hard. "What have you been using it for?"

Ngimanchi laughed, a harsh, mocking sound. "I've been using it for myself," she said. "I've been investing in my own business ventures, trying to make a profit. And it's been working out well for me."

I felt like I'd been living in a dream world, and now I was waking up to reality. Everything I thought I knew about Ngimanchi was a lie. I didn't know what to say or do. I just sat there, staring at her in shock and disgust.

The silence between us was oppressive, heavy with unspoken emotions. Finally, I spoke up, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why did you do it, Ngimanchi? Why did you lie to me?"

Ngimanchi's expression softened slightly, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of the person I thought I knew. "I didn't know how else to get what I needed," she said. "And I didn't want to lose you. You're the only one who's ever been there for me."

Her words cut deep, but I knew I couldn't let her manipulate me again. I had to take control of the situation and make a decision about what to do next.
