Chapter 6 Chapter 6: He Turned Out to Be the Vicious Sister's Major Client

He was still counting on her to marry into a wealthy family alliance-there was no way he'd let her leave so easily.

"How dare you!"

Just as the bodyguards stepped forward, Liesel instinctively braced herself for defense.

"Seize her!" Robert commanded sharply, his face dark with anger.

Outnumbered and overpowered.

In no time, Liesel was restrained by the bodyguards.

The ruby brooch she had just retrieved slipped from her grasp during the scuffle.

"Robert Winters, you worthless scumbag! You have no right to touch my mother's belongings!"

Her fury reached its peak.

But the disparity in strength between men and women was too great; she couldn't break free from their hold.

All she could do was watch helplessly as the brooch was once again handed back to Evelyn.

"If you want this brooch, you can have it," Robert said, straightening his disheveled clothes, his tone returning to calm. "Agree to the marriage alliance, and it's yours."

"You want me to marry just to gain you benefits? Dream on!" Liesel spat at him, "In broad daylight, it's you who's dreaming!"

Robert's voice grew cold. "Then don't ever think about getting that brooch!"

Liesel felt a surge of regret; she should have known better than to come here alone.

The atmosphere grew tense.

A figure suddenly rushed into the room, "Mom!"

Charlotte had returned, and someone seemed to be following her. Charlotte hurried over to check on Evelyn's injury, then turned to Liesel with a furious glare. "If you have something to say, just say it! How could you lay hands on my mother?"

"Charlotte, calm down." Evelyn immediately took on the role of mediator.

"Liesel didn't mean to. It's just.your father and I misspoke, causing some misunderstanding..."

"Misspoke?" Liesel, already seething, found her anger reaching a new high. "God will punish every liar."

Robert's face flushed with rage, and he couldn't help but raise his hand.

But before the slap could land, a man intercepted it from the side.

A deep, calm voice sounded, "A gentleman shouldn't hit anyone, especially not such a lovely lady."

That voice?

Liesel looked up in shock, meeting the man's piercing, intense eyes.

He was dressed in a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a luxury watch gleaming on his wrist, exuding a sense of elegance and status.

His gaze towards her seemed calm and detached, yet beneath it was a layer of unreadable intensity.

Liesel froze: Joel Schott? What was he doing here?!

Meanwhile, black-clad bodyguards lined the doorway, a clear indication of the visitor's high status.

Robert's expression changed subtly.

"And who might you be?"

Charlotte quickly chimed in softly, "Dad, this is my new client, Mr. Schott."

Liesel's gaze swept over Joel with a hint of meaning.

He was actually Charlotte's client?

"You two know each other?"

As Robert spoke, Liesel caught a fleeting look of jealousy in Charlotte's eyes.

"We didn't know each other before, but now we do."

Liesel's lips curled into a sly smile. She grabbed Joel's tie, stood on her tiptoes, and boldly kissed him.

Their lips barely brushed, but just as Liesel was about to pull away, Joel took control, deepening the kiss.

"Mmph-"

He cupped the back of her head with one hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist, pulling her tightly against him.

Liesel's eyes widened in disbelief, staring up at him.

The scent of rich cologne mixed with the sliding of their tongues made her mind go blank for a moment.

The two continued their passionate kiss, completely ignoring the stunned expressions of the three onlookers.

"What are you doing, Liesel Winters?" Robert's face turned livid, his eyes nearly shooting flames at the sight of them.

His angry shout snapped Liesel out of her daze.

Her hand, which was pressed against Joel's chest, gave a gentle push, signaling him to let go.

Joel reluctantly released her, his rough thumb wiping the dampness from her lips.

"I'm a traditional man," Joel said calmly. "Since we've kissed, that makes us officially boyfriend and girlfriend."

Liesel's mouth twitched, speechless.

She glanced at the trio beside her and caught the flash of jealousy in Charlotte's eyes.

Smirking, Liesel willingly looped her arm through Joel's.

"Sure! It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Schott."

"Liesel Winters, that man is your sister's client! If you dare offend him, the Winters family will disown you!"

Liesel rolled her eyes. What client? They were eyeing Joel Schott as the perfect catch, no doubt.

Any man Charlotte fancied, Liesel was determined to snatch away just to spite her.
