Chapter 5 Power Couple

Jaxon's POV

While I was still trying to process what had just happened, a waiter awkwardly came over to ask if I would like a dessert menu.

"Get the fuck out of my face." I growled before hitting out of the restaurant angrily with a messed-up suit.

While I was in the car, I called Liam and demanded an explanation, why he would set me up with a prostitute but Liam was also mad at me that I created a scene at the restaurant and it's all over social media now.

I drove straight to Liam's office, I barged into his space, ready to throw punches.

"Are you fucking insane, Liam? A prostitute? You set me up with a prostitute?" I growled, my voice thundering through the room, causing the glass windows to shake.

Liam smirked disgustingly; "Relax, Jaxon. It's not like I set you up with a serial killer." Liam blurted, leaning back into his seat, unbothered by the situation on ground.

"She's just as bad! A gold-digging lowlife." I barked, gesturing faintly at my ruined designer suit.

"And yet, she's the only woman willing to play by your rules." Liam retorted with a gentle sigh, while leaning forward from his chair. "You are such a nutcase, you know that right? You want a woman you can control and toss around like some puppet, and you think you'll find that kind of woman? Isabella was the only woman who's willing to play by your rules as long as we pay her well, she's ready to be a puppet, just get her paid and she's all yours. But look at what you've done, you messed it all up." His voice was a bit loud as though he was scolding his child.

I became restless, I began to pace around the room, continuously running a hand through my hair. "There has to be another way." I muttered to myself but Liam managed to hear.

Liam hinted, "There's a trending topic about you," turning his laptop screen toward me. I leaned in to look, and the headline stared back at me in bold letters: "JAXON HALL'S SECRET LOVER FINALLY EXPOSED!" Beneath it was a photo of me and Isabella mid-argument, her dress soaked in water and my suit ruined with wine. The internet was having a field day with our drama.

"You're already trending for the wrong reason, Jaxon. Why not flip the narrative?" Liam suggested.

I narrowed my eyes, "What are you talking about?"

Liam smirked. "Marry her. If the world thinks she's your true lover, make it official. This way, you come out clean instead of looking like a billionaire playing with a woman's heart."

"I hate this." I snapped, but deep down I knew Liam had a point, and I have no other option than to play along, if not, things might get out of hand.

"Don't think too much about it, I can talk to Isabella if you want, if you're ready, then we fix a date for the marriage." Liam suggested, his voice calm and intuitive.

"Tomorrow...let's do it tomorrow." I stammered. "I don't want to ruin my reputation because of that goddamn bitch, Isabella." I growled, frustration creeping into my voice.

Liam scoffed softly, somehow, he was finding the situation funny and it made my skin crawl. He tossed out his phone and dialed a number, but I was unsure whose number it was that he dialed, however, it felt like it was Isabella's, that crazy girl.

I barely heard their conversation, but it seems like Liam was in a tight negotiation with her. I felt like snatching the phone from him so I could curse her blue and black, but that would only make things worse and my dare reputation is at stake.

"Make yourself available tomorrow at the courthouse, you'll be signing the papers." With that being said, Liam ended the conversation.

*******

The following day, I prepared myself and headed for the court. Seated next to me was Isabella, smiling wildly as if nothing ever transpired between us yesterday. She was looking completely unbothered. "Will you stop the pretense please?" I mumbled, frustrated by her nonchalance. "We both know where we stand, and now the whole world thinks we're...whatever they think we are." I gulped. I doubt if I'll ever be able to get over this.

Isabella's smile faded for a moment before she regained her composure. "I'm just here for the cash, Jaxon. Let's focus on that, shall we?" she smiled again.

"Just shut the fuck up, Bella." I cursed.

"Oh my God, look at who we have here... a desperate billionaire." She mocked, I knew she wouldn't back down, her mouth never relents.

I shook my head pitifully, leaned into my seat, crossed my arms and looked away from her trouble. The lawyer cracked his throat and started to read out the contract marriage terms and he mentioned that the marriage will be dissolved once I get my position, which Isabella agreed to.

Isabella tilted her head. "I have one rule, you will not touch me, ever. No sex until we dissolve the marriage." She declared, making it clear that there will be no physical intimacy.

I let out a tiny giggle, "Trust me, sweetheart, the last thing I want is to get lost in your widened pussy. I bet there's no pleasure in fucking you, so why should I?" I sneered, a ridiculous smile playing at the corner of my lips. I knew this might annoy or anger her, but danm, that's exactly what I want.

She smirked and pretended not to be hurt, but I can see the frustration boiling within her.

After a while, the lawyer gave me a pen to sign the marriage papers and I immediately signed my name in sharp, aggressive strokes.

Isabella, however, she took her time, smirking and sneering as she elegantly penned down her name as if she was enjoying the whole process.

"Now seal it with a kiss." Liam suggested, an encouraging smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"You've got to be kidding me." I growled angrily.

Isabella sighed. "Make it quick." she urged.

"Who does marriage without a kiss? Come on Jaxon, don't be awkward. We need to make this marriage look real to the media." Liam insisted.

I hesitated for a while, still wrestling with my conflicting thoughts and ego. But then, I thought about the trending topic and the desperation to clear my name.

I pulled Isabella closer to me, wrapping my arms gently around her small waist, and carefully tucking her over the chair so I could kiss her properly. I swallowed hard, unsure about the whole turn of event, but it's gonna happen anyway, I'll do everything for my reputation because it meant the world to me. Our lips met in disbelief, it was cold and shallow but Isabella, of course deepened the kiss just to piss me off. I pulled away from her but the camera shutters had clicked already, successfully capturing the kissing scene.

Isabella laughed, unbothered by the whole situation. She's clearly using me to have fun, I can't wait to take her home and treat her like the stripper that she's.

Within minutes, social media was flooded with articles: "JAXON HALL & ISABELLA PATEL, MEXICO'S NEWEST COUPLE!" read the headlines.

Before we left the court, Liam began to tease me about how the media now sees me as a 'romantic lover.'

Isabella smiled at the whole turn of events, knowing she had just turned the game in her favor.
