Chapter One: Caught In Between The Duo
Elsa's POV
I clutch tightly my light-weight box to my thumping heart as I arrived at the mansion, My father's gentle plea echoed through my thoughts.
"Just two months Elsa, endure till I return baby."
I felt a tear drop drizzle down my cheek, and stopped it halfway with the back of my palm. I slightly raised my pleated maxi skirt and walked confidently into the grey painted building despite feeling the opposite.
"State your business here."
I heard a cold voice throw the word at me, and my mustered confidence dwindled, replaced by a fear of the unknown. I knew next to nothing about the Davidsons, except that they are stinkingly wealthy and influential.
Rich enough to give my father and I the average life we live despite him being a mere driver.
"I...I came...I am Elsa Williams, Patrick William's daughter,he told...."
I haven't concluded the word when the gate opened on its own, I was mesmerized. I didn't see anyone as I walked my way closer to the front door. Despite the gigantism of the compound, it looked deserted,
Or so I thought.
I was about to knock on the glassdoor when it miraculously opened on its own.
So maleficent! I was hooked.
I was amazed the moment I stepped foot into the house, the seemingly deserted house was bubbling with about thirteen people dressed in check aprons cleaning, laundering, arranging and other chores. But one thing baffled me.
They all pretended I was invisible until...
"Oh there you are darling, you must be Patrick's daughter,"
I nodded in affirmation as the strange robust woman said in a fancy accent.
"Move down the hallway ahead, the third room by the left is yours, take a rest."
Before I could appreciate or question her, she had moved ahead from me, and dejectedly I staggered forward towards the long hallway as she described. To my astonishment, I couldn't find the rooms yet, until I stumbled upon an ugly sight.
A grown man in blue underpants with his erection bulging out.
I was flustered and looked away instantly. I heard him chuckle softly. He didn't seem embarrassed by it. Instead, he walked past me, and I couldn't help but wonder if he was mentally deranged walking naked in broad daylight in a house filled with people.
I finally found the rooms and counted till the third. I joyously made for it when he passed by me again. I turned slightly to catch a glimpse of his face and sadly,
Our eyes met.
All I saw staring back at me was disdain, so I looked away instantly and turned the doorknob.I dropped my bag refusing to relish in the excitement of how spacious and beautifully decorated my room was, I would have rather preferred our small apartment than waking up to stumbling upon a naked man.
I could swear I heard moans from the room next to mine, but I wasn't great at eavesdropping so instead, I settled down my box and started unpacking. The closet was too big for my meager clothes, so I just arranged everything in one section.
A loud banging sound accompanied by loud female moans filled my ears and I cursed inwardly. My father will be guilt ridden if he hears about this. I will just have to be careful, that is all, I concluded inwardly as I lay hopelessly bored on the large bed.
"Gruuuuuu"
The grumbling sound of my stomach raised me up. I guess I overestimated my importance waiting to have my dinner served in bed or maybe a call up, I didn't want to be forward.
I held it in for another hour, but it never came, so I decided to abandon my fear of rejection and left the room. I walked down the hallway on my way to the living room when I stumbled upon someone.
The same delinquent from earlier, fully dressed in a black suit and a gleaming pair of black shoes. I scoffed inwardly as my eyes met his, something about his eyes held my attention.
He motioned his hand forward, and I took the cue, I made way for his passage with a gentle apology, what happened next irked me,
He smiled warmly at me.
He must definitely be suffering from dissociative personality disorder, I concluded as I walked out on him.
For the first time, I ate my least favorite porridge with enthusiasm. My taste buds swollen, and I found myself eating in bits to avoid it being eaten up quickly.
How on earth was it possible ?
It tasted so heavenly the exact opposite of what my life story feels like right now. After lunch, I made it back to my room just in time to see that man shabbily dressed in baggie crazy cut jeans and transparent shirts that left nothing of his bicep to imagination.
I was torn between exchanging pleasantries politely with him or ignoring him totally, but he shifted his attention slightly to me, all I could see was blatant full blown disdain.
"If you were sent here to seduce me wearing that! You have failed."
"What?"
I turned slightly to take a second look at his face and my dress. I was dressed in a maxi covered dress so trying to seduce a man seemed absurd, and who the hell is this saucy bastard anyways?
And did I just hear him chuckle mockingly again!
"Stop it Jethro, she is a guest, treat her with some respect." I heard the word from the room adjacent to the man Jethro whose name I just learnt.
"You do not get to tell me what to do Jarvis!"
The other room door opened, and wonderment filled my heart at my new discovery.
I was faced with two men of the same facial features, but obviously contrasting personalities.
How come father never gave me a head-up on this one?
I watched in awe as one of them walked out of the hallway, the other smiled warmly at me and waved slightly.
That moment, I knew it.
I was hooked, and I knew I had just walked into the burning pit of hell.
