Chapter 2 Dark Hunters Whisper's

Still in Lagos the night was hot. Efe lay on his bed, scrolling through his phone. Reels. TikToks. Quotes. Then came the message.

Unknown Number:

"Have you forgotten what we shared?"

He stared at the screen. No profile pic. No name. No hint.

Then came another:

"It's not over. You opened the door."

He dropped the phone. His heart pounded. Something was off. Suddenly, the light flickered-once, twice-and darkness swallowed the room.

He shot up, flicking the switch. Nothing. Then a cold breeze, unnatural in Lagos, swept through the room. He wasn't alone.

He felt it.

A presence.

Then... a voice.

Not loud. Not human. But clear.

"You were once ours. You fed me with your eyes. You worshipped in secret. You called me without knowing."

Efe fell to his knees. "Blood of Jesus!" he cried out.

But the voice laughed.

Scene Shift: The Awakening

He woke up drenched in sweat, breath short. No power outage. No message. But the fear lingered.

That Sunday, Efe went to church. He didn't plan to. But something pushed him.

The preacher's voice rang out:"There are some battles you can't win in silence. If you opened a door, you must shut it in prayer. Lust isn't just desire, it's a spirit that trades your destiny for moments of pleasure."

Efe froze.

"You, young man, the one hiding behind creativity and ministry-God said, 'Choose this day who you will serve.'

His hands trembled. The message was too accurate. Too deep.

Final Scene: Decision Point

Efe knew he couldn't keep living double. He had to make a choice:

Stay silent and let darkness grow...

Or open up, confess, and fight.

He lifted his hand slowly, tears rolling.

And somewhere in the unseen realm, the Master of Darkness snarled.

The war had just begun.

He went home and hmm things got worse. Efe's breathing quickened as he stood rooted before the mirror. The face staring back wasn't just his-it moved differently. Smiled too long. Blinked too slow. He took a shaky step backward.

Then the lights flickered.

His phone, still lying on the table, lit up again. This time, it didn't buzz. It hummed. A low, vibrating hum, like a growl wrapped in static. The screen read: "WELCOME."

Suddenly, a knock. Sharp. Measured. Three times.(Note all these were happening in his mind).

He crept to the door and peered through the peephole. No one.

Then came the whisper.

Not from outside.

From inside.

"Open... we made a deal."

He stumbled back, heart pounding. A cold wind brushed his neck, though the windows were shut. Then, a sudden bang! The Bible on his shelf flew open on its own, pages flapping violently-until it landed on one verse: Isaiah 5:14 – "Therefore hell hath enlarged herself..."

His knees gave way. He dropped to the floor, whispering prayers his mouth barely remembered. The air around him thickened. His hands trembled. He heard a soft chuckle in his ear.

"You're ours now."

Everything went black.
