He wants me to be his maid, his plaything for entertainment. Tears streamed down my face as I remembered his last words. Although I have been treated like a slave my whole life, I just didn't expect my mate to treat me this way. Being a maid is a life I'm used to, but to share my body with a man who thinks less of me, and refuses to accept me as his Luna, is something I would never accept. I glared at him, shaking my head furiously.
"You think it's unfair to you, don't you?" He laughed mockingly when I took a protective stance with my fist clenched, glaring at him.
"What's unfair..." he said, drawing out each word, "Is that I'm saddled with a weak, pathetic mate." He said through gritted teeth and poked my head with his thumb. But I didn't let his words affect me as I stared deep into his eyes, unflinching.
"Lower your eyes when I'm speaking to you," he commanded, stepping towards me, and before I knew it, he slammed me on the wall and held my neck. I gasped as his hold on my neck tightened.
My eyes watered in pain as I struggled with him as he held my neck, trying to make a sound, but nothing came out of my mouth. I looked at him tearfully, hoping he would let me go, but he didn't. Instead, he pinned me to the wall and tightened his grip on my neck, making it difficult to breathe.
I started kicking, scratching him for him to release me, but it was to no avail until he suddenly released me and fell to the floor, holding my neck, coughing, and panting for air.
I clenched my hands in anger. I wanted to tell him, 'Just because I'm mute doesn't mean I don't feel pain, and being an Omega doesn't lessen the pain. We heal at a slow rate, like humans. We omegas feel ten times the pain an Alpha feels when wounded'. But no words came out, only panting and coughing were all that came out.
"Whether you want it or not, Mira..." he said, "You'll be my maid and plaything." My eyes widened as he mentioned my name. I never wrote down my name for him, so how did he know it?
"Don't be surprised I know your name,"
"I'm a man of many sources. You know it's funny how you're from the enemy pack, that once ruined my pack, if not for the mate bond, I would have believed your father sent you here".
"Listen here..." he said, about to finish his sentence, when a guard burst into the throne room. He whispered something into the Alpha's ear, and his eyes lit up with interest. As he nodded at every word, he kept glancing at me.
I strained my ears to catch their conversation, but all I could hear was "ready" and "good." I gave up listening and focused on brushing the dirt off my skirt. Then, I heard the Alpha say, "Let's go"
As the Alpha pulled me out of the throne room, I couldn't tell if he was taking me back to the dungeon or his room. My heart was racing as I tried to figure out how to get away. We arrived at a building that looked like a clinic, and I went from scared to confused. Why did he bring me to a clinic? What's his plan?
Immediately we entered the clinic, doctors and nurses stopped their work, bowing in greetings to the Alpha, and he gave them a curt nod.
One of the female doctors who worked in the clinic approached and said, "Is she the one?"
"Yes, inject her with the serum and send her back to the pack house. I'm sure she'll find her way back." He said and left with the guard.
I was terrified, my heart pounding as I wondered what they were going to inject me with. I longed to escape, to get out the door and run.
The doctor gestured to a bed in the corner of the room. A nurse stood by the bed, syringes in hand. My heart raced, and a wave of fear washed over me. I had been to the hospital many times after beatings from my pack, and I hated needles and hospitals.
They made me feel light-headed and vulnerable. I turned toward the door, ready to run, but the nurse held me back.
"Stay still. It's the Alpha's order," she said in a soothing voice. "And it doesn't hurt, I promise."
But the nurse gave a snide laugh. "Oh, don't listen to her," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "believe me, It stings like hell."
I looked at the doctor, my eyes wide with panic. She glared at the nurse "Did you have to scare her more than she already is" then turned to me. "Don't worry, it's just a shot of suppressant, it doesn't hurt."
Suppressants? What were they giving me suppressants for? I looked at the doctor with a panic-stricken face.
"Don't be scared, okay? This is for your good. You're a Stealer wolf, and it would be dangerous for you to roam about since all the unmated and widowed wolves are after you.
With this suppressant, we'd be able to cage that stealer wolf in you and make your scent unperceivable for them. I hope you understand what I mean?" She asked, staring at me with warmth in her eyes. I felt like I could trust her because she was the first to look at me without hate and disgust, so I nodded.
"It's going to sting a little, okay?" The doctor smiled, and I nodded.
I closed my eyes as she raised the syringe. My heart raced and my breath caught in my throat as I waited for the sting of the needle. I felt a quick pinch as the needle touched my skin, and then it was over. I relaxed, letting out a slow breath.
"There, all done," she said, giving my cheek a light pinch. I smiled at her in gratitude.
"Carrie, escort her back to the pack house," the doctor ordered. Then she turned and left.
I had been walking silently beside her when she suddenly stopped and blocked my path. I signed 'What's wrong?' with my hands.
She looked down at me and laughed, a cruel smile on her face. "So the rumors are true, you are mute," she said.
"Listen up, the Alpha is mine, you hear? I don't have to worry about you. He wouldn't even look at you, let alone touch you, don't even dream you can seduce him," she laughed, leaving me all by myself.
I stood there, feeling ashamed and humiliated. I knew that I could never compete with her. She was beautiful, strong, and confident, while I was none of those things. I felt like a failure, a weakling, a disappointment. I continued my walk to the pack house.
I almost got to the pack house when someone pulled me into the small bush by the pack house.
"Mira," I recognized that voice anywhere. I started shivering, scared that he was here to punish me for leaving. I covered my head, expecting a blow which never came.
"Mira my child."
Where did that come from? My mouth opened in surprise at the words coming from him. I was always called mute and useless by him. It sounded strange and dangerous coming from his mouth.
"The pack needs something from you, my child. I know you've always wanted to make me proud and be recognized within the pack, so I need your help with something urgent," he said.
I signed for him to continue, but he signaled to me, asking me to come closer and when I did, he whispered into my ears.
"I need you to kill Alpha Navier and gather some information about the pack." My eyes widened in shock.
