Chapter 2 The wrong room

"What the hell...?" he muttered, eyes locked on the girl stripping on his bed, too stunned to move.

Lucas Bright had just stepped out of the shower, steam still rising from his skin, the towel slung low around his hips clinging to water droplets that traced down the ridges of his abdomen. The suite was silent, apart from the soft hum of the city outside and the faint rustling of silk.

And on his bed was this girl, her dress bunched around her hips, her legs were trembling as she tried to kick it off. Her dark hair spilt wildly over her shoulders. She looked as if she were in another world.

Lucas froze.

He didn't remember calling anyone. He was at Meredith's Party and some wine mistakenly spilt on his suit, so he came to the room to freshen up and stay away from the gold-digging heiresses who clung to him like perfume. One was them was Isabella.

Lucas Bright was one of the richest CEOs in the city, and many young ladies, even married women, aspired to make him theirs.

He stared at the young lady before him, who was clearly not in her right state of mind.

"Hey," he said, his voice low, cautious. "Are you...Do you even know where you are?"

Naomi heard the voice through the fog. She turned slowly, catching a glimpse of him.

He was tall, wet and gorgeous. Her pulse pounded in her ears.

"I need you..." she whispered, slurring slightly as she crawled to the edge of the bed, her fingers reaching for him.

Lucas stepped back but she was already up on her knees, her dress halfway off, revealing delicate lace underwear that clung to her like a secret.

"Stop," he said, more firmly. "You're drunk."

Naomi smiled lazily, her fingers brushing his chest. "You smell so good. Did you wait for me?"

He caught her wrist gently, but not before her lips brushed his collarbone and a hot jolt ran through him. Damnnnn.

"I don't even know your name," he murmured, trying to find clarity in the haze.

She looked up at him, blinking slowly. "That's not important right now."

"You need to stop."

Naomi giggled, then leaned in again, this time pressing her lips to the hollow of his throat. Her hands gripped his waist, her mouth hungry and soft.

Lucas gritted his teeth.

He wanted to push her away, but the way she desperately clung to him like he was her only anchor got to him.

He lifted her chin, studying her. "What's your name?"

Naomi blinked. "Angel," she whispered.

His brows furrowed. He knew it wasn't true.

But she kissed him again, this time it was hard and hot.

He responded this time, fiercely as if the lion in him was released.

His hands found her waist, then her hips, guiding her down to the bed. The towel around his waist loosened.

She moaned softly, her eyes rolling back.

"Wait," he said, breathing hard. "Are you sure...."

But she pulled him down to her before he could finish talking and he let her.

---

It was morning,

Naomi groaned, her head pounding like drums in her skull. Her throat was dry, and her limbs were heavy.

She blinked against the sunlight streaming through the curtains. Her body was very sore.

She looked around the Room, her dress was gone, and a silk sheet was the only thing covering her.

She panicked and sat up slowly, her head spinning.

Where the hell was she?

The room was empty, and she looked down at the bed. The imprint of a man's body still warmed the sheets beside her but she was too confused to notice.

She scrambled out of bed, wrapping the sheet tightly around herself. Her heels lay on the floor, her dress ripped near the hem.

She saw a note sitting on the nightstand and she picked it up, but it was blank.

She turned to the mirror and could see mascara streaked down her cheeks, and love bites trailing down her collarbone.

What happened last night?

She didn't remember, she gathered her things, barely managing to dress in the torn fabric. She opened the door slowly, peeking out and there was no one.

She immediately recognised she was in one of the guest rooms, but what she didn't know...was that she had had a one-night stand with Lucas Bright, the richest man in New York.
