Chapter 4 (The unwelcomed bond)

I paced around in my sanctum in nothing but rage. How could the moon goddess fucking mess me up!!

My hundred thousand of years and she fucked me up now, where did I go wrong?

I can't possibly be mated to that pup of a coward. A daughter of my rivalry! Let it make sense.

My hand raked through my hair and I cursed out a frustrated sigh. A vampire and a werewolf? A bad, very bad combination.

"But she's our mate." Veleno, my beast said and my jaw locked in a tight grip. "She is a wolf, a daughter of the enemy!" I fired back and he rolled his eyes.

"We have always wanted a mate. It's going to make us strong." He blurted but I quickly shook my head not accepting that. "This is weakness, if it gets out... we are doomed, they will use her." I snarled out and he went quiet.

Hundred thousand years of my existence, I have seen a lot and that's why when I saw her dragged into the throne room, I instantly knew I was doomed. Is this a way that the moon goddess wanted to use and eliminate me?

Or the karma of my past actions?

Even if it was, but not in this shameful and humiliating way. I have lived longer to die a disgraceful death.

"We are rejecting her." I hissed and turned to strode out but Veleno's clicking sound stopped me. "She is not eighteen yet, no wolf so this is not fucking happening."

I know he wants her which is odd, Veleno is a dark poison, nothing has ever entices him so why so fucking drawn to her? Or was it the mate bond?

"Fine. We are rejecting her the moment she clocks eighteen." I spat out and he scowled. "Not me and you. I want her."

"Vel!!" I let out a gluttorium growl. "She's an enemy!"

"The daughter of the enemy, not the villain itself." He points out instantly and my teeth ground together.

What the fuck was that?

"Hey!" I stilled as I felt the presence of Bruno Attilio Valois, my best friend and now beta, walking into my sanctum. "I know you will be here." He clicked his tongue and walked over.

But I remained rigid on my spot, ignoring him. My mind is a mess right now.

"You gonna tell him." Veleno hissed in a sarcastic voice and I shot him a glare in my head. "Fuck off!" I pushed him behind, at the back of my head.

I need to think in a sane mind.

"You, okay?" Bruno said as soon as he stopped right beside me. His brow is furrowed, concern etched on the lines in his forehead. We have been friends for over a hundred thousand years so he could tell that something was eating me up.

But I just can't tell him. I feel embarrassed, ashamed of the turn of events. They could have killed that bastard and not brought her daughter here. Now, see the outcome.

I am trapped for days, until she clocks eighteen.

"I'm fine." I responded. He gave me an unbelieving stare and opened his mouth but my tone cut in sharply. "Do you think that coward will come get her?"

The idea of him taking her repulses me. I immediately shut my eyes, fighting back those shimmering warm golden eyes that seemed to have occupied my mind just this couple of minutes.

"Vin."

My gaze fluttered open.

"Do you think?" I asked instead, still maintaining my straight face.

Bruno sighed at my behavior and nodded.

"He has to. No man could leave his daughter in the hands of their enemy."

"He better do it." I venomed, the face of Kael flashing in my head.

How that coward had his head cut off and gifted it to his daughter on her one year birthday party.

How cruel was he?

I would not fucking resting until I wipe out everything that breaths in his generation.

I clenched my jaw, my fists balled.

"Her daughter is very gorgeous, and has a sharp tongue." Bruno smirked. "I like her."

And a sudden wave of primal emotions surged through me, forcefully jerking my head toward him. My eyes ablaze with fierce red intensity, possessiveness coursing through my veins like liquid fire, lighting up every fiber and bones within me. My vision narrowed, fixed on him, warning him not to tread further.

He blinked and stepped a little back. "Wh... What happened?"

"She's an enemy!" I bellowed.

"Fine." He sighed with his hands raised apologetically. "I am just_"

"ENOUGH!" I lashed out and his pupils dilated in shock.

His eyes squinted and he shook his head. "Are you alright, Vin?"

My molars ground.

"I need to get laid. We will continue this conversation later."

His face went white. "Seriously!" I heard him blurted out in disbelief but I turned, walking away in embarrassment. "Vin, what's going on?"

I was already out of the door when his question pierced my ears. A Lot is wrong?

A lot that I felt so ashamed to talk about. Worse, I nearly plucked out my best friend's eyeballs a minute ago because of her.

How am I going to put up with this stupid feeling for a few more days?

Fuck it. Those golden hues and cute oval face seemed plastered on my head like a haunting vision.

I growled and rubbed my face in frustration, sending a quick mind link to one of my flings.

"Nadira. Fucking strip and wait for me in your knees, blindfolded in front of your room door." My dark tone muffled in a raspy voice down the link.

"Yes, Dom." she replied immediately in a flirty submissive tone.

I let out a deep sigh and cut off the link.

I fucking need to get her off my head. Fuck the mate bond! Fuck the moon goddess and fuck this pairing!!

I, Vincenzo Salvatore Esposito, can not be paired to something that breeds out from Diavolo's household.
