CHAPTER TWO
**Chapter 2: "Sparks Fly"**
Ava smiled faintly, feeling a spark of attraction she couldn't ignore.
Ethan's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity.
Just as he leaned in closer, his phone buzzed loudly. He silenced it without checking the screen.
"Where were we?" he whispered, his breath dancing across her skin.
Ava's heart skipped a beat as Ethan's eyes crinkled at the corners, his intense gaze softening into a hint of warmth.
"I think you were about to buy me that drink," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ethan chuckled low in his throat, signaling the bartender for another round.
As they waited, he turned to her, his expression serious.
"Ava, I have to admit... I'm intrigued by you. Most women don't intrigue me."
Ava raised an eyebrow, curious.
"What makes me different?" she asked, leaning in closer.
Ethan's eyes roamed her face, his gaze lingering on her lips.
"You're not afraid of me," he whispered. "Most people are."
Ava felt a shiver run down her spine at his words.
"Should I be afraid?" she asked, her voice low and flirtatious.
Ethan's smile was slow and sensual.
"Maybe," he whispered, clinking his glass against hers.
As they sipped their drinks, Ava found herself asking more questions.
"Ethan, what do you do... exactly?" she probed gently.
Ethan's eyes seemed to gleam with amusement.
"Business. Mostly imports and exports," he replied vaguely.
Ava sensed there was more to it, but Ethan's charming smile deterred her from prying further... for now.
"Imports and exports, how fascinating," she said, her tone light and teasing.
Ethan laughed low in his throat, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Hardly fascinating, Ava. But profitable," he replied, his voice low and husky.
Their conversation flowed easily, like they'd known each other for years.
Ava found herself laughing at Ethan's witty remarks, feeling a deep connection she couldn't explain.
As the night wore on, the bar started to close, and Ethan glanced at his watch.
"It's late," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I should walk you home, Ava."
Ava nodded, feeling a flutter in her chest at the prospect of spending more time with him.
As they stepped outside into the cool night air, Ethan offered his arm, and Ava took it, feeling sparks fly at the touch.
They strolled through the quiet streets, the city lights twinkling around them, until they reached Ava's apartment building.
Ethan turned to her, his eyes burning with intensity.
"Ava, tonight was... unforgettable," he whispered, his face inches from hers.
*Ava's heart skipped beats as Ethan's lips brushed against her ear...*
"May I kiss you goodnight?" he whispered, his breath sending shivers down her spine.
